  • This is pretty good but I can barely hear Noel's voice. I still like Sheila Chandra's version the best.

  • Its just ok. But only Because the original was such a mindblower. Being a true Beatles expert and at 57 still having a successful music career, I feel like I know when something is great. This one, ok, but its only an interpretation, not a creation.

  • Love the mid-eastern vibe

  • if only they could have played a reversed guitar solo as well

  • I'm desperately looking for a high quality recording of this performance (a.k.a soundboard, flac). Anyone?

  • Who needs Liam...? This is still Ace - need a version with awesome audio now! lol

  • its a brilliant song and a brilliant cover....piercing voice...balanced...imaginatively tantalising from marr.....and slow is just as good as fast. the words attempt to guide seers into other realms.......and it does look like noel is in another world as are all the others. power to the shamans .....away from evil capitalism.....through to eternity...

  • I'm sorry, but I can't listen to the arrogant pricks of Oasis. Johnny Marr I respect, the other two just suck.

  • horrível!!!!!rídiculo!!!que versão horrível!!!

  • what year was here ?

  • fckn mint johnny marr the solo omg

  • Good cover, The Beatles and Oasis will Live Forever!!!

  • banging cover!!

  • Gem, stick with noel, so good together....

  • miss U noeel!!

  • where is the drum that i love from the original?

  • @GoucheGizmo Listen to the ORIGINAL original version- from Anthology 2. Then you'll understand what this is.

  • point blank the brothers dicks... they love lennon and hate paul... lets see what they have to say when they are 70 years old... they get away with loving lennon cuz he died at 40.. cant wait to hear what the brothers have to say when thay turn 70 years old.

  • @fletch2240 They don't hate Paul! Noel and Noel even worked together!

  • Noel's voice has nothing to do with this song. Liam should've done that.

  • I don't think that John would hate Oasis, I think he would be flattered and appreciate them. They do a perfect job of a new Beatles sound, but not a complete rip-off at all.

  • @DanM25456 george martin made the beatles sound,. FACT.

  • John Lennon would absolutely despise Oasis. One because they ripped The Beatles off to the heavens, two because they ripped HIM off - his solo stuff. And lastly because Noel came out with comments like 'I hope he catches aids and dies' directed at Damon Albarn. Lennon was an avid ambassador for peace, he would have had no time for somebody coming out with comments like that. Now Radiohead, there's a band that Lennon would have liked.

  • @bigdunk9

Ha! Lennon had a big mouth himself.

And he was not interested in just melodies, he was even more into lyrics. Fact coz that's what he said.

  • @MrThegnome777 Yeah I know he did. He had a big mouth, but nowhere near that of 90's Gallagher brothers, it was so pathetically cringeworthy.

  • @bigdunk9

"it was so pathetically cringeworthy. "

Was it? I guess it's just my opinion, but nobody's perfect, but we can be honest, and I believe the bros are.

  • @MrThegnome777 'I'd say at this stage in our career we are on par with Led Zeppelin' - Noel Gallagher, 1998.

'Knebworth Park was certainly the greatest gig in music history' - Liam Gallagher, 1997

There's being honest then there's just being arrogant and pathetic, and Liam constantly crosses that line.

  • @bigdunk9

Why is it bad to realize you're the best, at least currently!? My credo is, know your price and don't lower or higher it.

  • @MrThegnome777 No there's nothing wrong with that! But comparing yourselves to Led Zeppelin?! Come on, that is a bit far, if Oasis are up there with the greats in 30/40 years then I will come back to this video and say I was wrong!

  • @bigdunk9

Well, there's not that much time left till 30 years, and so far there's not a slightest sign of Oasis fame fading away ;)

And second, LZ are overrated. There are/were bands way more interesting. Not saying LZ are shit, though.

  • @MrThegnome777 Yeah that's true, over the past 5/6 years they have totally appealed to a new generation. I do agree LZ were overrated but popular critics love them so when Oasis are considered the same then that's when those opinions can be justified. LZ were probably the best band of all time in terms of musicianship.

  • @bigdunk9

Do you mean after Don't Believe The Truth? But hey, I don't think anybody has forgotten just how big they were in the mid-90s. I belong to the category of people who were attracted by Heathen Chemistry. When it came out in 2002 (I was 17) I though "This is it!" I don't need no critics' opinions because that's just some more opinions by some more people, not necessarily smarter than me. I'm saying this because it's not critics who should form our musical taste, but ourselves.

  • @bigdunk9

    part 2

And in terms of musicianship... heh... Deep Purple would sweep the floor, Pink Floyd could. Gilmour is not as technically good, but I love him more because he's so soulful. Blackmore could do anything Page did and more. Zep had no keyboardist (well, few bits by Jonesy, who actually is really talented). Plant could barely sing right in live gigs. Also, try asking him to do Child In Time...

  • @bigdunk9

    part 3

Oasis are not virtuosos, but they're so much closer to us ordinary people :) The first solo from Live Forever. It's so pure, so soulful... I can't stand Page playing blues all or most of the time. I hate falling asleep, I love being kept intrigued. But oh, that's rather personal, this bit here.

So... there you have my opinion, mate ;)

  • why argue evryone knows the beatles evrithing they touch became classic so ofcoure the original version is better but is a good cover

  • @osito060308 I think the original is a bit boring, actually.

  • @MrThegnome777 How can you say the original is boring?! This one is slow and repetitive.

  • @BeatleFloydZeppelin

Because I heard the original, and being faster and not repetitive than slow does not guarantee a brilliant track.

  • @MrThegnome777 Ya but the beatles version IS a brilliant track.

  • Esse moleque cantando e tocando Tomorrow Never Knows, com muito menos recurso, é bem melhor que oasis: watch?v=BlK7hrUtVH0&feature=related

  • Always dug this song. I prefer the Fab Faux's version of this. There's a few vids of Fab Faux on youtube. Look them up.

  • this ones for you TheManolakis.....

You are a cunt pal.........I hope your earholes turn into arseholes and shit roles off your fucking shoulders man........

    Stupid American Fuckhead.........

  • any 1 no wat effect johnny marr is usin ere ??? ...

  • talent

  • ask yourself why johnny marr, the man who fucking made the smiths what they were, would cover this song with them if they are "lucky douches".

fuck off if you dont enjoy it

  • I heard a better version of this song. I think it was by The Beatles.

  • so are you implying that this was a bad cover, because if you are then youre just a complete moron that knows nothing about music.

  • I love the Beatles, Smiths, & Oasis, but this was a waste of talent.

  • is prefer the beatles version, its more energetic.

  • i agree.. the beatles one was much fuller..

but perhaps that could be because this is a live version and this song is too trippy to get spot on live..

the fact that the beatles version is better than somebody with as much talent as noel gallagher rele shows you how good the beatles actually were..

  • Noel Gallagher is GOD.

  • This SO needs releasing - in ultra-mint audiophile quality.

  • i remember this, the Lennon tribute thing, cos Noel picked the hardest Lennon tune to cover

i reckon there should be a national Lennon day where every1 gets a day off work, and 1 of these shows every year,on the 8th,a tribute show

  • total agree

  • No doubt Lennon would of approved!

  • SMASHING..

  • too many people put music down when noel gallagher is mentioned in the same breath but this is a fantastic cover! kurtcobain clearly hasnt listened too the sitar and johnny marr guitar parts!

  • this lacking the drum parts already sucked!

  • it lacks Ringo. : (

  • Well you can't expect him to duplicate what John did! No one can do that! So haters why don't you try to go out there yourselves and prove yourself right! Idiots! Any way can anyone tell me that when was this? And well whats the name of the show? Because it looks amazing! A very fine tribute to John Lennon indeed, keeping his spirit alive!

  • wtf is this .....bull shit

  • you fucking nobs have no idea what ur talking bout...as covers go this is the bollocks..the spirit of lennon lives on through the likes of noel..so throw ur shit put downs away and fucking appreciate...

  • @greshgallagher

    sure, that's true at 100%.

    Noel have the beatles heart

  • @greshgallagher The spirit of John Lennon lives through the music John recorded. I don't really like their version of Tomorrow Never Knows. It lacks what The Beatles did on the record. Now I know it's near impossible to redo what they live for this song, but they should've atleast kept it at the speed The Beatles did it.

  • @greshgallagher Too right...its fucking awesome this is....

  • @greshgallagher If any of these folk moaning knew anything about the Beatles then they'd know that the wat this version sounds is how Lennon envisaged. He wanted it to sound like a monk chanting and there is a version similar to Noels on The Beatles anthology 2 album. I really like this version, obviously it's not gonna be as good as the original but it's still amazing none the less...!!!

  • i am sorry but they took the psychedelic sound out and sounds bad

  • hahahahaha - sounds like monkey farts

  • Yuck.

  • HORRIBLE.

  • how much does a leslie cost cause i want this fucking vocal effect?

  • AWESOME

  • I actually kind of like this. This kept the spirit of the original and changed it up a bit. Good job.

  • Nice cover, but they should have got Zak Starkey to drum.

  • Who? ;)

  • johnny marr's guitar is one of the most mind blowing sounds i have ever heard. He is gotta be the best british guitarist of all time

  • viva la page

  • lol

  • it lacks the drums, the most characteristic part of the song

  • now this is a live track - noel and johnny marr the two biggest legends covering a fookin tune dedicatede to a genius!!! and to top it all off it's introduced the sexiest woman ever

  • noel gallagher,, one of the two biggest legends? hahahahahahaha

  • nice cover. i love the original but this one is great too. love the indian touch caused by the tablas .

  • Have a spliff, and listen to this! BLOWS YOUR FUCKING MIND!!!!

  • u would'nt know good music if it bit u on ur baggy cock streched but hole i saw u tryin to play guiatr u faggit

  • Comment removed

  • Now then Johnny git tar. play nicely and dont be so jealous. How come you have no videos on your channel? we wanna see you playing recorder in the school play dont we lads? that will be worth a comment or two. and take off that gimp mask it could do with the occasional rinse. ya slavering twat

  • fuck u geordieslapheed. wheres urs u havr non either

  • Oh come on guys, the Beatles' original blows this into a cocked hat. And anyone with a functioning brain can hear that.

  • Not bad, quite good.

  • what do you mean never touch a classic its a beatle's tribute you plonker !!!!!!!!!!

  • This is cool. Oasis are the best, they should cover some Rolling Stones songs. Can you imagine them doing Sympathy For The Devil, Gimme Shelter, Love Is Strong? Eight Miles High by The Byrds would be a good song for Oasis to cover too!

  • Noooo! Oasis guitarist can't solo like Mick Taylor on Gimme Shelter or Sympathy, Oasis are better when they play their own songs!!! Especially the songs from the 2 first albums^^

  • They did a pretty good cover of Street Fighting Man on the All Around the World single from 1998.

  • trippy...

  • takes one to recognice another

  • Nice.

  • Mods, you've totally missed the point i was making. I was saying you could release the original now and still it would be a hit in any dance club. I also said i didnt like the version. Noel G like most other "arists" assume they can sing any song and it will be good - no, some things they do are sh*t and this is one of them. Therefore, it's do do with what ever people want to comment about it. Sooner or later he'll be like Macca, churning out shite because he relies on past achievments.

  • good performance

  • fantastic cover, and oasis are the only one who are able to cover beatles songs (imo).

  • you are correct.

  • I agreee

  • swallowthemind you prick

  • thats class

  • My Fav Beatles track and this cover is amazing!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Not a very brilliant cover...

  • Dont like it, you could release the original and play it in Ministry of Sound as it sounds like a Chemical Brothers tune - or their tunes sound like Tomorrow Never Knows should i say, thats how advanced it was, i mean, all you have to do is emphasise the beat more digitally. The other versions Noel has done are ok but this sounds wrong and takes away form the original - in my opinion.

  • Firstly, ministry of sound has nothing to do with this.dance music has nothing to do with this.Second, this is a collaboration off artists who have the utmost respect for the beatles and their music. Finally, would the beatles play at the ministry of sound?nah.listen again.

  • amazing.thats how the beatles would have sounded,if they had that technology in the 60,s

  • cool when was this?

  • this woz live on tv december 2000.the best cover of tomorrow never knows u will ever hear.thats my opinion.enjoy.......

  • Listen to the color of your dreams....nice! thxo

  • He tried something like this with "who feels love", also the importance of being idle and I'm only sleeping are similar

  • i agree with " who feels love" but" the importance of being idle" is a whole different story mate

  • Unbelievable!!

    Stage perfoming?

    Well done!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Chameleons UK covered this better. Then again, I tried many times but Oasis just couldn't reach me.

  • I love this song, but this has not worked, sorry!

  • guitar work was very well done

  • lol The roses were an influencial band but Weren't amazing, Name the roses good songs? I can name them on one hand? name oasis great songs I haven't got enough fingers or toes lol

OASIS SECOND ONLY TO THE BEATLES!!

  • comparing oasis to some of the most influential bands of all time. different time, different tunes. under your idiotic guidance we could compare the stone roses, smiths to floyd, the who and the beatles? shut your mouth fool.

  • well someone below claimed noel gallacher was ona par with mccartney/lennon, which is idiotic to say the least

  • How can you call someone an obsessive twat when your name is Squirehorse? bit obsessive dont you think?

  • not really because the only reason i chose my user name was because i signed in as i watched a seahorses tune on you tube.so i just made up a name on the spot.

if you looked at my favouries on my profile you would realise that i have a wide variety, of bands that i like that are nowhere near oasis.

i just find oasis to be embarissingly derivative but i watched this tune waiting to be surprised.i just find that oasis's reliance on the whole beatles thing to be kind of embarresing for them

  • what band isnt Beatles obsessive?

  • what man isnt beatles obsessive

  • liam sounds abit likes he's trying to imitate john lennon

  • wheres liam at?

  • liam's trying so hard to be lennon here, that he magically transformed himself into his brother noel

  • HORRIBLE!

  • boring as fuck. put me to sleep

  • Not the easiest song to cover. Really great version. Thanks for sharing this.

  • That Johnny Marr could go far

  • is it me or was that amasing?

  • anyone agrees that Johnny Marr's work on these one is amazing?

i would bet that this was a huge influence for noel to write stop the clocks

  • when Noel was 13, Johnny was only 15. :-)

  • Liam does have those nihilistic qualities but lennon was a prick as well.

  • The Gallagher's have always wanted to be the Beatles, yet Lennon had an intellect and ideology of love and peace that practically resonated from him, whereas Oasis shared more of the nihilism of the Sex Pistols. I think Lennon would have been flattered, but he would have thought Liam in particular to be a prick!

  • i agree

  • I don't really think so, if they wanted to be The Bealtes... why all those diferences? I mean Oasis is more agressive and they are a little sarcastic... in music and personality, The Beatles are happinnes and love, they are one of the biggest influences in Oasis but I don't see them like The Beatles. Anyway Both of The Bands are the very best Noel Gallagher Paul McCartney/ John Lennon the best songwritters in history Oasis and The Beatles the best bands in history.

  • Ever listened to Noel/Liam talking about the beatles? Ever listened to any Oasis songs?! They are full of direct beatles lyrics/influences/chords/songs.....being hugely infuenced by another band doesn't mean you have to be identical to them. Oasis also have the Sex Pistols, Slade, Roses etc.

  • Lennon meant well but was misguided - his support of the IRA etc. and some of his lyrics..."imagine no possessions"....yeah, come on, John, living in a million dollar apartment in New York!!!!!

  • Beautiful cover of the song that got me into LSD Thankyou

  • This song it's not the same without the drum beat

  • So jonny marr is awsome. But,noel is a brit fag?Sorry to brake it to you,but jonny's british to dickhead!!!!Hope you feel like the fuckwit you are!!!!

  • haha u really are a tit arnt u

  • Classic song, great rendition from Noel, Gem & Johnny Marr! Has anyone heard the Phil Collins version that was on his Face Value album 1981, in tribute to John Lennon that's cool too!!!

  • fuckin'great!

this version looks like who feels love?

noel is a genius, and Marr too!

  • The Beatles were SOOO ahead of their time - as is evidenced by the fact that the lyrics are still pertinent in 2008 - 42 years AFTER this song was first recorded....

Noel did a great job tho...love it still!

  • people that slag oasis base their (only) argument on oasis not being popular anymore which is complete and utter shite! they can sell out any stadium on tour easily, and there last 2 albums have shifted around 5 million copies and they have a massive fanbase. a 90s band? piss off!

  • No, popularity had nothing to do with it, because as you say they are still a commercially successful band. But then so were the Spice Girls. My criticism of Oasis is that their music has got worse over the last 15 years, not better (which is also reflected in their comparitive album sales out of interest) and one of the reasons for this is that they show very little interest in developing their sound. Critical opinions agrees: DM and MG were superb, but since then there's been nothing to rival

  • the hindu times, stop crying your heart out, little by little, go let it out, lyla, she is love, be here now, dya know what i mean, fadin' out, the meaning of soul, turn up the sun, a bell will ring are all up there with mg and dm of coarse they are the best two but only in consistancy and you cant say there music has gotten worse

  • Well, I can say it and I do. If you disagree, that's fine. What is, I think, difficult to argue against, is that they have not progressed or shown any interest in developing their sound or being innovative or exploring new themes. Also, they absolutely nothing to say in their songs. At least there was a core, raw heart to DM - when Liam sang "live forever" and "rock and roll start" etc, I believed him.

  • i totally agree with you about the importance and passion of the music that has faded with time but noel has admitted that but the quality has not changed.

  • but he says that every album is the best thing they've ever done! The reality is that they peaked with DM and MG, which were exceptional, and subsequent albums were just OK, with some good songs thrown in now and then. The thing is, though, that I've come to realise about Oasis, is that truly great artists want to explore different ground and challenge themselves and their audience with new ideas, not just repeat the same old formula time after time after time after time

  • he says its the best thing since definatley maybe

  • better than your albums though eh matey. get a life, sit back and just enjoy oasis for fuck sake!

  • That's a pre-GCSE debating logic. No one can have a view on anything unless they have personally done it better? So, that would put every teacher, journalist and historian out of a job, then, immediately. I suggest that you learn that, on a discussion forum, designed to allow people to share their views, there will from time to time, as in life in general, be people who - shock!! - have different views than you. Resorting to insults is the way of the child, or pre-GCSE level debating.

  • suck my cock :D

  • That's pre-school.

And why do you want me to suck your cock? Are you gay?

    Very strange.

  • why don't you want to? are YOU gay? aaaah!! gay!!
