Sawadee Gordon, as to names I recall: Capt, Jim Brown (Georgia?), Lt. Symington (AZ),Sgt. Joe Carvallo (Somerville, Ma), Sgt Terry Brizendine (MO?) , Sgt. Frank Sargent (LA), Larry Zeigler (Berkeley, Ca), Airman Kevin White (Mass.), I remember the whole ROLLING THUNDER gig, long night shifts, the whole crew getting drunk at 8:00 am and disturbing the base commanders meeting-(right next to our hooch area) The Bob Hope show and his racist jokes that were so offensive to our Thai host.

WOW!! i cannot believe what has happened to the old Invert hooches and CRC. Was a Ist Lieutenant on the scope from 12/1970 to 12/1971. The Docs lived accross the yard from us. What a wild unbelievable time. I remember the plexiglass map, the scopes, the dias. We had a pet mongoose who ran around and jumped on our laps in the middle of a refueling. We fed it hard boiled eggs. Remember the Shindig downtown. Nickname was Madman. Ron Mazur

Was stationed at nkp in 63-64 and helped build invert. Lived on the local economy and loved the thai people. Returned in 67 and worked as a scope dope for a few months before moving on to dressy lady and waterboy during tet of 68. In 72 came back to work with the 1st special ops under maj Jim Harding and closed it down. Lots of memories. God bless major zeke encinas.

@6:00 - That is where I spent my evenings from 1971 - 1972. Task Force Alpha. Military Intelligence, USAF. I also worked for "Radiation, Inc." when I was off-duty. You needed a TS clearance to fill the Coke machine. LOL I can only say that NKP does NOT hold any pleasant memories for me.I was a "scope dope," and I spent all night monitoring traffic on the Trail. Calling in dangerous frags to kill a few trucks was not a fun responsibility.

I was at NKP, Task Force Alpha, TDY from DaNang, arrived Jan 3, '68 and left May 1, '68. I helped draw the map of Laos on that plexiglas board. There was only 1 car in town, a taxi. Johnny's Bungalow....Those were some of the best days of my life. Never forget the first day I walked to the shop through the jungle and was told to beware of tigers and cobras. .

I was at NKP during 71 with the Security Police. I was there when the first B-52 to be shot down crashed outside NKP.

I found a website once that was similar to your video and showed how the jungle has now overtaken most of the old base. Sad to see after all that went on there in the past. Thanks for posting this video.

Hard for my mind to comprehend that it is not still up and bustling with raw energy. We were there together. My last six months were your first six, as I spent all of '70 on the flight line in A.G.E. as an MJ-1 Bomblift mechanic (MD-3 Generators, A-1 Alternators, hydraulic mules, air compressors, air conditioners, and any A-1E revetment service equipment).

You know much more of the secret war I learned about later. The base was revealed on American TV my returning day to freedom.

Although he left probably about nine months before you arrived at NKP do you recall hearing the name CMSGT. O'Brien? He was in charge of the AGE shop wen I was there and is the reason I didn't make a career of the AF. I did spend 4yrs 10months though as I extented.

I arrived at Invert as a one-striper in May '68 and departed Dec. "69. Went back to visit in Nov. "07

@zzcitizenzz I to was at Invert from Oct 68 to Oct 69, I was a Weapons Tech. Do you remember the alert shack out back with the bunks and that red flashing light and the Klaxon horn.vYou had to have been there when the new Ops building was built by Red Horse. The 13 hour night shifts and you last 6 months the 11 hour days. I can't remember many of the names of the guys but would love it if you could and would post some.
