It's also kind of sad that we are still in a day and age where people like Pat Condell is considered special because so many of us live in fear, opps I means awe of the damage, opps I mean IQ elevating things Religion has done for us.
Religion rocks, we should totally respect people that believe in something unprovable and be proud of it because faith is such a glorify-able thing and we should all go back to burning women, opps I meant witches...
I just realized that some might not know what taqiyya is. Taqiyya is the muslim religious edict that allows muslims to lie about their religion when not lying would be detrimental to them. Up until fairly recently (the internet age) this practice was reserved for situations where the muslim was under threat of death.
Recently, though, it has been approved for them to outright lie about aspects of their faith when it comes under heated criticism that might otherwise undermine the faith.
I'm not stereotyping anyone. What I am doing, however, is tossing back aspects of their belief in their face that many like me find disagreeable.
For mormons it's racism, for islam it's racism to a genocidal level as well as well as a combative hatred for non believers that is the underpinnings of this religion of "peace".
I'm not talking about "how it's practiced".. that, as with christianity, has many faces. What I'm talking about is what the religious texts say.
if i have to believe in a god that allowed a brother and his sister to have kids, and get married i would better called myself a pig instead of a human.
the very "moral" founder of these putrid monotheistic religions is abraham, the gross son of a bitch who prostituted his own wife two times for fear of being killed, this woman was in fact his own sister, the bastard god "blessed" them with children,go figure.this is the type of immorality that christianity, islam and judaism is trying to sell us.
Of course you have an issue with atheists.. they are your greatest threat... the ones that have outgrown the need for fairytales.
I expect you have no issue with mormons because you in some twisted way view them as intellectual equals. Other religions are also populated with people as easily fooled as you are.
What seems to be intellectually depressing for the devoutly religious is that their arrogant air of superiority to other religions is deflated totally by atheism.
@PaleHearse LMAO, riiiiight......people who don't believe in God are somehow a threat to me. Unless of course, you mean the oppressive atheism practiced by the Soviet Union, which harshly repressed all religions.
You seem to be a facist, mostly inclined towards persecuting anyone who disagrees with you just for believing in God. Frankly, you're no different from those religious fanatics who've persecuted atheists. You're just far more smug (while calling others that) and less intelligent.
I'm not looking to "repress" anyone.. just educate.
What you seem to be afraid of is exposure that you have been deceived either willfully or otherwise into believing in a religion that sets immoral dogmas and refuses to accept scientific fact.
In modern times, and in the nation I now live, the difference between then and now is that we are armed with knowledge and guns and a constitution that prevents religious fanatics from taking over. Now science and reason can prevail.
@PaleHearse You should start by educating yourself. The problem with angstheists like you is that you always paint yourselves into a corner by alienating anyone else who at least sympathize with the discrimination atheists face (like me).
This is because under the guise of "reason," you blindly hate anyone who believes in religion. It's the reason why no one else likes you nutjobs. You're just as crazy as the religious extremists. Different name, same antagonism!
I'm rather well read.. and have more then my fair share of dealings with organized religion and their agendas.
I don't "hate" religion nor am I out to discriminate against anyone for their beliefs.. but their beliefs run counter to mine and I'm not about to sit down and allow their agenda to overrun my own.
I don't "blindly" call religion to task.. I call them to task over demonstrable evils.
@PaleHearse What's funny is that you consider yourself both vocal and well-read. And yet if that were true, you wouldn't be stereotyping all devout people or claiming that atheists are the Muslims' "greatest threat."
You sound more like some little kid full of hot air claiming that everyone is out to persecute him by having their own religious beliefs. It's funny because that's what Christian evangelicals in America frequently do.
Protest all you want; but you're just as bad as they are.
What you need to do is read the Koran... cover to cover.. then do it again.
What you will discover.. and quickly.. is that the muslims have a special hatred reserved for the non believer. That's not christian mind you "dhimmis" or protected ones... but kafir.
How about you read your own fucking book... eh?
It's fine for you to have your own religious beliefs... so long as those beliefs don't flat out tell you to persecute and kill those who don't agree with you.
@PaleHearse Ah, now a dumbass angstheist is trying to lecture a Muslim on how to be a Muslim. It's no wonder people don't like you idiots. You're so warped in your own useless dogma that you're forming your own religious-like fervor.
Anyways, the only persecuting here is obviously coming from you. I don't tell atheists how to live their lives. But a clueless idiot like yourself is telling a Muslim not to be a Muslim. LOL hypocrisy No shock that you people are routinely persecuted for a reason.
You seem to be the one who was just handed his head regarding his own doctrine.
Though you are now pouting and stomping your feet.. you have actually not at all addressed the validity of what I said. Just more obfuscation and posturing about how your being "misunderstood". That defense is getting old.. and will no longer disguise the ugly intent of a rather vicious religion.
Your not being persecuted.. your being.. understood.
@PaleHearse Ah, so a Muslim who integrates into the country he's born in is committing "taqiyya."
You really are a mentally ill bigot with no grasp of the facts. Good job proving that you don't even know who came up with the term "religion of peace."
I've laid bare what taqiyya is here I think. It's simple.. the religion you are choosing to follow is increasingly being seen for the violent and untrustworthy ideology it really is.
That may be upsetting to you that it's now exposed.. but no one in the end is worse off for that revelation... not even you.
@PaleHearse No, you've laid bare how little you know about Islam and how ignorant and stupid you are. And frankly, you've exposed how little intelligence and education you have.
If you're dumb enough to think that all Muslims are violent and can't be trusted, then you really don't know much about the world. I doubt a guy who probably lives in his parents' basement is capable of entering the working world and do anything to contribute other than being a parasitic drain on society.
Didn't say all muslims were violent.. what I am saying.. and understanding.. is that the non violent ones are too afraid to speak their mind.. for fear of being killed or beaten by the violent ones. And they use islamic law to do so. They simply remind the families of those they kill that it's against islamic law to speak against another muslim.. even if you feel they are in the wrong.
Islam is deceptive, intolerant, and violent by it's very doctrine.
@PaleHearse You think any religion is bad. And frankly, your obnoxious behavior here is a pretty negative reflection on atheism as a whole. People like you do nothing but try to disrespectfully challenge others' beliefs. It's the reason why I have far more respect for other religions than for atheism.
For all the attacks on Islam being supposedly violent, I have yet to see a shred of proof that most Muslims are violent. Because if 1+ billion people were really that violent the world would end.
..properly identifying the areas where religious scriptures are abused and used as a license for hate, instead make excuses for those verses and the people that use them to further their specific violent and repressive goals.
What you are seeing in islam is that people in general are NOT violent but they are stuck in a religion that encourages violence and deception to further the goals of those who gain strength from it.
The average muslim gains no strength from the practice.
@PaleHearse How exactly does Islam encourage violence and deception? It encourages them to give to the poor, save lives and be humble. Atheists, on the other hand, believe that there is no God and that our actions can have no meaning. So atheists can believe that we can be violent or that we can be peaceful. It doesn't matter which.
Have you noticed that America has become more violent since the majority of the people admittedly have moved towards being less devout?
Yes.. what I'm saying that your not accepting is that just as with christianity, not all who call themselves christians persecute gays as a matter of practice or even go to church.
Muslims are no different. Not all those who identify as muslims in muslim countries are violent or deceptive Not all would persecute gays or be active in racist practices against jews.
That, however, does not remove these hateful and violent passages from their holy books as part of doctrine.
@PaleHearse What's funny is that more than 99% of Muslims are peaceful people and yet you want to demonize them because of religious passages. It's like me saying that you're a hateful, violent piece of shit because you're American and America has increasing crime rates and poor race relations.
Most Muslims want to live their lives in peace without disrespectful idiots antagonizing and persecuting them just because their beliefs are different. Sound familiar? It should...
That would be true if in our constitution it said that "No american shall take a camel jocky as their friend because they can't be trusted".
Instead, what it says.. is that all men are created equal. It also says.. get your religion out of government.. you have the right to assemble, the right to speak your mind and the right to bear arms to ensure all men are created equal, religion stays out of government, you have the right to assemble.. and the right to speak your mind.
Because it encourages persecution of gays, racism and religious intolerance as part of basic doctrine. The imams pick up on that and use hatred in the same way Hitler did.. to gain converts among the young violent boys by giving them a license to hate instead of a reason to live and love.
The afterlife is touted as something divinely to be sought after and that's fine.. right up until the moment you tell them they have to kill a jew foer mohammed to get there.
@PaleHearse Most major religions encourage persecution of homosexuals. Even Orthodox Jews are very intolerant of them. Why you're focusing on Islam here when others are equally culpable is beyond me. However, what you fail to see is that I haven't said a negative thing about homosexuals here at all. And yet you're disrespectfully insulting my religion to me.
Not to some fanatic, but to me. You're just a troll with no sense of perspective. It's why your point fails miserably.
That's a tired excuse. Basically you get caught by a cop beating up a homosexual in the street and you defend yourself to the officer by saying.. "The Jew helped".
That's not going to gain much traction with me... or the cop.
I think I've addressed the realities of this pretty well. If you would like to revisit any portion of it you didn't quite grasp.. feel free to state specifically where I've gone.. off path.
@PaleHearse The only way you could ever address any reality would be if you were to resume taking your meds.
That is, you're a pretty delusional angstheist and confrontational troll who just feels an incessant need to annoy anyone who's a Muslim......just for being a Muslim. You should save your pity for yourself.
Anyone who spends so much of worthless time hating people just for being Muslim must live a rather empty life.
Again. though that sounded cute to say.. it didn't directly address where any of my points were in error.
It's not about me hating you for being a muslim.. it's me naturally distrusting people that say one thing in public and another in their house of worship.
So again.. this isn't my deal.. it's your deal. If you are uncomfortable with your religion being seen this way..then you need to alter it.. or find a religion with a less hateful foundation.
@PaleHearse You have no points. You're just a rude, bitter, virulent troll who arrogantly thinks you have a right to tell others what to believe.
Again, I don't see anyone else here caring what you think. People like you are the reason why most people dislike atheists and their obnoxious, needlessly confrontational nature.
You represent everything wrong with angstheists today. And you're sadly dumb enough to think your opinion holds merit on any level. Frankly, you're just an ignoramus.
Again.. cute to say.. but without addressing specific points all your actually doing is reminding people why there is and always will be a need to hold religious zealots responsible for the shit they do.
Nothing new here. If you remain peaceful .. you and I will have no issue. If you promote hate and attack others because your religion tells you to.. you and I are mortal enemies.. and it may one day come to battle. I am hopeful that it will not.. but there you are.
@PaleHearse What were your points again? That non-violent Muslims aren't really Muslims? Or that you don't respect any religion or anyone who believes in one?
And you say that other people have a hateful foundation? Face it: you're just a two-bit, pseduo-intellectual warped, mentally ill troll. What's funny is that you really delude yourself to think that you're being taken seriously by anyone here...
...as a license to hate. They want to hate the jews..feel it gives them some joy to do so, and the koran gives them license to do so. It also gives a mandate not to integrate with other religious socially but instead to conquer them.
What has you twisted is that I am being taken seriously because the concerns I have raised are not only legitimate ones, they come from a secular rational point of view.. while yours come only from a desperate need to protect vile textual passages.
@PaleHearse Riiiight, all Muslims hate Jews! So I guess those Muslims who marry Jews in Tel Aviv or Haifa must hate their spouses. And the Muslim guys I know in America who marry or date Jewish women must hate Jewish girls! In fact, I must hate Jewish women so much that that's why I refer to my penis as the "Sword of Islam!"
You really are getting more pathetic here. You're so warped that you don't even realize that your behavior here is more vile than anything else you're talking about.
I simply said it was written in their religious texts and was used as foundational argument for the a-holes that are blowing people up.
Nice bit of selective reasoning there.
I have no doubt that there are a great many "muslims" that also drink or own dogs.. eh?
And yes.. the koran may "tech" religious tolerance.. but again.. selective reasoning on your part. We already discussed that though it was taught, it wasn't practiced in any country where it wasn't forced to be.
I'll leave it to others if they feel more convinced by the arguments I put forward or if they find the dance your doing to protect muslim precepts of racial hatred and oppression of women more convincing.
Not all of what the koran teaches is bad news. The koran, for example, does teach religious tolerance.. but that isn't practiced in muslim counties.
My personal feeling, and the point I was making, is that muslims are being seen today as using the koran and their religion...
@PaleHearse You're not even making sense by your own twisted standards. So on one hand you admit that Qur'an (learn how to spell if you want to be taken seriously) preaches religious tolerance and on the other, you're saying that Muslims hate Jews because they're warped by Islam. Even for a dishonest liar, you're making little sense here.
Why do you idiot angstheist trolls insist on biting off more than you can chew? What is clear is that what little you do respect isn't worth much.
"you're saying that Muslims hate Jews because they're warped by Islam."~
I'm saying they are taught to hate them using islam as the religious reason for that hate. Remember, I come at this from an atheistic point of view. Islam is just the reason.. just like any other religion. If it didn't have those words written in the koran it couldn't be said to say .. what it says.
@PaleHearse But you just said that Islam encourages religious tolerance of others. So how is it now a tool in anti-Semitism? And moreover, how does a religion that enocourages religious tolerance so "vile" that it deserves your useless angstheist trolling?
Trying to change the subject to another video does not distract from you painting yourself into another corner.
Like many religions.. it says one thing.. and practices another.
In the case of the koran, it gives justification for both. On one hand it has passages that say not to take jews and christians as friends.. and in other places it says to be tolerant.
So again, what your left with is how it's actually practiced. There is NO islamic country where religious freedom is actually practiced..not a one.
Turkey is as close as it comes.. and if you ask a Turk..they are a secular nation.
"You've clearly read few passages of the Qur'an beyond those which you've decided to cherry-pick"~
Let's also be clear.. I'm not the one "cherry picking" these passages. They were chosen for the very reason that they are currently being used as a license or racism, violence and sexual inequality. If they weren't.. we wouldn't be having this discussion right now.
The fact that you have come full circle in this shows clearly that your out of argument.
And lastly..since your so daft as to have missed this in total..
I'm not the one trolling here..
...you are.
I'm not camped out on some islamic video telling you how messed up you are.. your here on a video pointing out the ills of islam and other religions ..telling us all how you feel we've misjudged you...
...when we haven't.
The video is an accurate depiction of exactly the things your embodying now... a determination to defend the things you believe in no matter how vile.
@PaleHearse This video is of a Nobel Prize winner agreeing with something Condell said. If this depicts what I'm embodying, then you are even more stupid than I thought.
I simply said that Condell is a bigoted ass for his irrational hatred of Muslims and his views on Park51 lacking any facts.
You are the bigoted angstheist troll who decided to smear all of Islam and initiate some bizarre holy war on your part.
You've shown a poor grasp of the facts and a divisive hatred of all religions.
And then you failed to show how his concerns are irrational. His concerns are genuine.. and accurate.
It's not "bigoted" to identify issues against social morality that need to be addressed, and it's not incumbent on myself or others to be tolerant of violence and racism even when cloaked and embodied a religion.
Do.. f-ing please.. remember.. that these contradictions your pointing out are written down in your OWN FUCKING BOOK.
I didn't pull this contradictory bullshit out of my ass.. I pulled it out of the koran.
Ding dong.
So ultimately we're left with what I have always said we're left with... what your ACTUALLY doing... and why. You.. not someone else. you. What are you defending here.. hmm?
How about you tell us what YOU believe.. what YOU don't approve of.
@PaleHearse If you were paying attention instead of spewing your usual angstheist bile, you'd know by now that I believe in the best ideals of Islam, ones that affirm life, peace, charity, truth, nonviolence and a devotion to God.
You, on the other hand, spend your free time talking about how much you hate the vehicle by which people extol these values. How sad.
@PaleHearse Bitter hatred at all religions and a useless life where you spend your time pissing off others just for believing differently is not a "better vehicle." It's just an empty life.
If you had a purpose to your life and reasons to be such a bitter troll, then you would make sense. But you're spending your time picking losing battles with Muslims, Christians and Jews who have nothing to do with you and mean you no harm.
So it's a pretty pathetic life you're choosing here.
@PaleHearse "I have and will continue to speak my mind when the situations arise."
And you are the perfect example of why atheists are so disliked.
Because atheists today feel the need to be confrontational with everyone else.
It used to be that atheists just wanted to be left alone. Now that the number of Americans who attend weekly service is declining, atheists delude themselves into feeling empowered. And in doing so, they're just as bad as those who used to persecute them.
Atheists today realize that it's not a time to remain silent. It IS a time to speak out against religious nonsense where it's used as a license for hate and sexual oppression.
We're not "persecuting" anyone.. we're just no longer going to sit by while religious a-holes use scriptural passages to support crashing planes into buildings and stoning women for being raped.
If you truly do not support islimic violence.. then speak out about it where you see it... but don't deny it.
Sure you're not. That's why you're divisively picking a fight with a Muslim who says that he embraces America and thinks that terrorists are evil people. You're like Don Quixote tilting at windmills.
"a Muslim who says that he embraces America and thinks that terrorists are evil people."~
Continue that attitude and we have no issue.. but be aware.. there are those who do not share your religious views.. and will protect themselves by embracing the same constitution that brought you to America and assures your ability to peacefully practice.
But don't expect those who do not share your religion to be any less vocal about their desires.. then you are.
Do.. f-ing please.. remember.. that these contradictions your pointing out are written down in your OWN FUCKING BOOK.
I didn't pull this contradictory bullshit out of my ass.. I pulled it out of the koran.
Ding dong.
So ultimately we're left with what I have always said we're left with... what your ACTUALLY doing... and why. You..not someone else. you. What are you defending here.. hmm?
How about you tell us what YOU believe.. what YOU don't approve of.
I didn't say that most muslims were violent.. I said that the ones that were are using bona fide scriptural references that I and others have already provided here.
What ever you may think of my views on organized religion on the whole, I can safely say that my views of you are representative for religion equally places you at odds with me.
In short I find you to be a poster child for what is wrong with organized religions today. That they contain members that instead of...
@PaleHearse You said that Islam is violent and that the Muslims who follow it are deceptive. So now you're saying that Muslims aren't violent but Islam is? Do you even know what you're trying to say anymore?
You can try to talk in riddles all you want, but you're just exposing yourself as a hypocrite and a fraud.
Angstheists like you are the reason why so many people hate atheism. Instead of heeding the words "let it be," you engage in pseudo-intellectual "challenges" of peoples' faith.
if he's still alive... a very telling comment. why is it that we in the west with our hard fought for freedoms are now afraid to speak our minds? freedom of speech and thought are the underlying principles of our society we cannot allow this to slip out of our grasp because of a fear of causing offense!
I like Mormons much more than evangelicals. I think they might be a little bit more fucked up, rationally speaking, but I think they are a better people. Anyways, just my two cents.
i left islam my muslim brothers islam is false like all other religions ,i am now atheist happy and free , (atheism akbar) peace and now i relly mean it, thank you
It is unacceptable to me to live in a world that is infested with the self deluded, irrational, parasitic religious. Therefore I believe there are no self deluded, irrational, parasitic religious. Theist logic is great stuff.
i'd like to correct Pat on one thing here..if i may..Look Pat, there is no such thing called radical islam and.. er..normal islam. i have studied the teachings & interpretations of koran, and er..delightfully found that ' u gotta be radical to be muslim..in that u need to adhere to the rules as interpreted in koran each fucking waking & walking day no matter what, if u don't, u don't belong to islam'
No matter how neutral atheists try to be, we're always hated, disrespected persecuted and silenced, so we might as well then stop being polite, hidden, and careful not to offend who's every once in a while offending us...
@SinceroRenato Leaps of faith can go any direction, but K. had no knowledge of evolution, maybe not stratigraphy and other recent scientific developments. Science superseded philosophy years ago. You strike me as one lacking confidence in accepting new ideas. Please give examples of the little strawman religions these atheists and antitheists construct. One cannot say there is no god, but one may confidently say there is no evidence for such absurd thought constructs with today's science.
I love Pat, I really do. And I am cool that he's an Athiest. I however, am not, and I am repeatedly shocked how high and mighty Atheists can be towards believers. I can honestly equate it to the same kind of pious attitude the ultra religious treat non believers. So in my mind, they are no different. While one side worships God, the other worships themselves and their supposed superiority.
@IncognitoShhh thats cuz buddaism is more of a philosophy than a religion and hinduism isnt about control and repression if it is its much less than the abrahamic religions
@MysteryNotes - yes I actually have seen Budhist Monks attack and kill in a riot. It has occured in Tibet and Malaysia but I accept that Budhism is a gentle non violent philosophy.
religion does make a desert as the ancient scottish warrior Calgacus said of the Roman empire "You make a desert and call it peace". Religion by definition especially the monotheistic ones want the whole world to be their religion therefore destroying cultures and the way of life for peoples across the globe. Shame on you Islam and Christianity as if a creator god would really be pissed off if you ate meat on a Friday or your wife didnt wrap a sheet around her face.
"In the beautiful garden of wisdom, Islam is nothing but a deadly, invasive weed.
Rather than offering up ten thousand prayers for peace and harmony in the world, it would be better simply to outlaw the one Satanic evil of Islam".
Come my non muslim brother and sisters, let us gather the rocks of truth, logic and reason - for with them as our ammunition, we can stone the illegitimate bastard son of islam to death.
@TheProphetMo ur actually just disgusting! forget religion or race as a HUMAN that's not something morally you should be saying..what ever religion a person follows has nothing to do with you, each and every religion does not have to be loved but each and every religion does indeed deserve respect.think about that please.x
I like your final statement, "Peace, love, happiness.", though I tend to disagree with the notion that religion particularly deserves respect. The charitable works that many religions do, feeding, clothing and housing the homeless are acts that deserve respect to be sure. But then there are all the totally disgusting crimes that religions have perpetrated over the centuries which warrant no respect whatsoever. I guess I'm torn. But, again, I am 100% behind your final statement. Good day.
@didyouseethatlight Hi, thanks for replying to my comment in a decent manner unlike some people. I too agree with you. Those who commit crimes "In the name of there religion" should NOT be respected. I believe that ALL religions are pure and do not encourage any crime at all..therefore crimes commited by followers of certain religions should not automaticcaly mean that there religion is at fault, it is purely the fault of the human who clearly interpreted there religion wrong...continued x
@MJALWAYZ oh what its like to be brainwashed please explain why any religion deserves respect?? all religions between them are responsible for killing more people than all the wars in the world put together please think about that before you ask anyone to respect religion!!!
@Mar2623 "This guy shot himself in the foot.... did I just hear laughter from the audience" Yes, the audience laughed. It was supposed to be funny. Or am I missing your point?
Pat u are old . But it's ok I can fuck u . I no still you like to gad faucet . I'm 55 years old but don't worry because my banana stele working wary well . Call me babe . I'm good fucker pat. D beginning u have to take out your fake teeth and souk my cock wary well and then I fuck u so hard .
You don't have long to continue what you want to do; your old, you will be dead soon, maybe you'll die of a stroke, while taping a video on YouTube; we may catch your death on YouTube. And I’ll say; "told you all, not to worry about that homosexual, demonic white old racist guy; he's dead now, and in hell, now he'll know he's been tricked and used as a slave to sin and Satan all along; now time to spend all eternity of gnashing of teeth; with fire and brimstone; the truth hurts.
In this same presentation Mr. Kroto got into a nasty argument with Michael Shermer over a study the Templeton Foundation did on intercessory prayer and its validity. Shermer sort of defended the Templeton Institute, but I'm not sure exactly what happened. Do you know what that argument was all about? Thanks.
The difference between the three Abrahamic religions: Christianity – mumbling to the ceiling, Judaism – mumbling to the wall, Islam – mumbling to the floor.
not exactly, he has no hatred to begin with, in the sense that he disnt start it. He only hates people who threaten the western way of life, and rightly so. I dont think we should tolerate people who dont tolerate us.
What is not quaint is to see how someone of apparant normal mental capacity is prepared to twist their understanding to such a degree in order to preserve the brainwashing of early childhood. Of course your parents were not aware that they were guilty of child abuse by continuing to maim their children with religious nonsense, but to take an innocent mind and impress on it unfounded "beliefs" simply because one has been subjected to the same treatment IS child abuse.
My parents didn't follow any religion because my mother was raised Muslim and my father was raised Catholic, According to the Catholic Church my brothers and I were bastards and according to Islam we were Infidels, so my parents removed themselves from the situations that would place those stigma's upon us..
You don't have to subscribe to religion to be educated about it, you just have to choose not to be ignorant.
Not that this last soapbox statement had anything to do with the conversation that we were having.
If you want to preach about whatever is on your mind, no matter how unrelated it is to a conversation where you were shown to be wrong, you should really start a church, man :).
Nice talking to you, regardless. It still never ceases to amaze me that I can sit in my office and meet people hallfway across the world, especially when I consider how much I used to spend in travel expenses to do the same thing.
If he's still alive? You pompass bastard! You couldn't shine Pat's shoes. He is alive and well. And still trying to educate delusional christians. As far as you being a Nobel prize winner, that's a joke. They give out nobel prizes to just about anyone. Matter of fact, if you have a nobel prize, you should try to keep it a secret. It's worthless to most educated people.
@buddybleau ............. I think you didn't get it... By saying "if he's still alive" he was referring to the fact he's taking the risk of openly condemning Islam. You realize several people have recently died for this? He was making a sad, slightly sarcastic statement, but it was in no way insulting to Pat... Please re-watch the video and hopefully you'll get it.
@buddybleau Hey no worries bro... even geganobo didn't get it apparently ^^ it's very important to try to suspend your judgment until an idea has been carefully analyzed... it's called critical thinking, and unfortunately it's difficult to develop... religion doesn't encourage it, and most likely your parents never learned it since they were brought up religiously... it's a daily struggle to think critically, but it's worth the efforts... just start by not assuming bad intentions from others! :)
@LiBlub1Rubbish! Have you actually listened to what he says? He is distinctly NOT a racist in any way. What he utterly dispises are the appalling ideas people are prepared to accept because of religion.
@mossfitz Well he's against the building of mosques besides ground zero but they're building a CHURCH there too as we speak he hasn't addressed that in any of his videos. And since I'm a man of reason I must assume that he has some small grudge against brown people since he's attacking a religion that's practice wise dominated by brown people whiles leaving one mostly practiced by white people relatively alone.
But even more compelling is that he's a supporter of a xenophobic party.
@LiBlub1 The twin towers were destroyed and nearly 3,000 people massacred in the name of Islam - not in the name of Christianity.
From my reading of the Koran and the life of Muhammad - who killed hundreds of prisoners with his own hands - it is disengenuous of Muslims to argue that The terrorists of 9/11 were not acting in the spirit of `true´Islam´. True Islam is to follow the teachings and example of Muhammed - who`s mass murders and call to kill unbelievers are fully accepted by Muslims.
@mossfitz If you want to ignore the fact that all religious people aren't fundies then lets play that game, I'm up for all that.
Lets start with the inquisition, slavery, banning abortion, surpression of the third world, the crusades, the racism/nazism against Jews in europe, the labeling of blacks as subhumans, and many many more.
It's obvious that even if he dislikes Christianity he favours it above Islam despite the fact that Islam has killed less, You haven't debated the racism claims either
@LiBlub1 Its a question af what these fundamentals actually are.
The general tendency of Christianity over the centuries, has been away from ignoring, and towards fulfilling its fundamental teaching about love and following the example of Christ - his forviveness, etc. A fundamental Muslim - if he truly goes back to the teachings and life of Muhammod, is duty-bound to slay non-muslims, Its not subtle and its not a game. American constitution text leads to many things including Disneyland
@LiBlub1 There´s a lot of nasty drivel in the bible, i´ll agree - but if there´s any meaning to Christianity it is about overcoming the dreadful primitive world-view of the old testament with the, surely better, concepts of love, forgiveness and brotherhood. I´m just saying that it is not clever to say that because something is bad, it is exactly as bad as all other bad things. Don´t let anger make yuo simple-minded.
@LiBlub1 I would also tell you that Islam is a huge improvement on the various even more frightful belief systems involving human sacrifice that it replaced in some places. It is merely an emotional reaction to say that all things one disagrees with are exactly the same. Sometimes it is also neccessary for the law to refuse to differentiate but we are not lawers here - we are discussing values i think.
@LiBlub1 Well, i was talking about the New Testament being a step way ahead of the old - but of course, you are right, the two are still attached together in some weird theological mumbo-jumbo `if this new stuff doesn´t work, let´s keep the old weapons under the bed just in case". This, despite the fact that Christ unequivocally renounces the old testament in the semon on the mount.
But 100%?? There are no will-less zombie virgins promised in the Bible for example.
@mossfitz Eternal bliss is promised. Then, technically, it is promised just not written down in those words.
If eternal bliss for a rapist for instance is mindless zombie virgins then(if he is faithful to the lord in his earthly life) then surely he must get those mindless zombie virgins.
But that Jesus has renounced the Old Testament I didn't know up til' now. I just thought he like "explained" it the right way, just like Mormons, Rastafaris and Muslims do. But I guess that's kinda the same.
@LiBlub1 "You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.' - But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also." (Gospel of Mathew)
But let´s not get into talking about the `Magic Book´.
Your thinking is legalistic and looking for general principles.
Do we need to think like the law, which is famously an ass?
Christ´s influence has TENDED to support normal human decency against normal h.brute force
Christ doesn't renounce the Old Testament in the Sermon on the Mount. The OT proclaiming an eye for an eye didn't mean to blind the person who had taken someone's sight it meant for the person who had done the blinding to offer the use of his eyes. Christ took that generosity that much further in his teachings.
The "eye for an eye" passage was about restitution, not retaliation.
@thegirl44 What daft things believers will believe once they put their "minds" to it - the old testament suggesting an eye-transplant.. Don´t be silly Whatever you can say about Christ, the idea that he was mistaken in his interpretion of the phrase as `resisting evil´ is grotesque. Christ had to thread a political line in his teachings - not contradicting directly the primitive mumbo-jumbo people then believed revealed in the magic book - he failed in this and was crucified for that
If you read the bible in the minutae that you read my comment I can understand why you don't get it. Have you never seen a blind person being aided or guided by a sighted person, hence "offering the use of his eyes"?
I do like people who look for the simplest understanding of things, though. It's so quaint.
@mossfitz Yea,but don`t forget...way more christians were crucified & burned at the stake by other christians over the years then the romans ever did. Way... way more!
I'd say that "I've come here not to change the Law, but to enforce it." or something along the lines has become too much of a quoted cliche by now to be unknown by someone discussing the subject, wouldn't you agree?
@LiBlub1 excuse me? There was a church there that was destroyed on 9/11, and they are not going to rebuild it. America is a country founded on Christian/Jewish principles so why should they build a church. Your suggestion that he has a grudge against brown people is totally nonce's, he has a problem with islam like anybody should have with normal upbringing. Islam only teaches; hate death destruction and stupidity. They are the parasite of the developed world, are you one of them?
@Tralgit Firstly, Islam is founded, just like the New Testament, in the Torah so you essentially have the same believes.
The only difference between the two Holy books of both faiths is that the Qur'an actually has some math in it.
I for one am an atheist.
But it's quite evident to me that if there are two ideologies of equal wrongdom and evilness, and one chooses to discredit and attack "A"(excessively) before "B", then he must have some fundamental issue with the followers of said ideology.
I really respect Pat Condell.

PaleHearse 3 months ago
And again.. for the daft..
PaleHearse 3 months ago
if i have to believe in a god that allowed a brother and his sister to have kids, and get married i would better called myself a pig instead of a human.
the very "moral" founder of these putrid monotheistic religions is abraham, the gross son of a bitch who prostituted his own wife two times for fear of being killed, this woman was in fact his own sister, the bastard god "blessed" them with children,go figure.this is the type of immorality that christianity, islam and judaism is trying to sell us.

I'm a Muslim and I have no problem with Mormons. I think they're far better people than annoying little pseudo-intellectual angstheists.
Atheism as a whole isn't bad, but morons like Pat Condell and Bill Maher are douchebags.
shabeki 4 months ago
@shabeki
PaleHearse 4 months ago
@PaleHearse LMAO, riiiiight......people who don't believe in God are somehow a threat to me. Unless of course, you mean the oppressive atheism practiced by the Soviet Union, which harshly repressed all religions.
You seem to be a facist, mostly inclined towards persecuting anyone who disagrees with you just for believing in God. Frankly, you're no different from those religious fanatics who've persecuted atheists. You're just far more smug (while calling others that) and less intelligent.
shabeki 4 months ago
@shabeki
Peace.
PaleHearse 4 months ago
@PaleHearse You should start by educating yourself. The problem with angstheists like you is that you always paint yourselves into a corner by alienating anyone else who at least sympathize with the discrimination atheists face (like me).
This is because under the guise of "reason," you blindly hate anyone who believes in religion. It's the reason why no one else likes you nutjobs. You're just as crazy as the religious extremists. Different name, same antagonism!
shabeki 3 months ago
@shabeki
"You should start by educating yourself"~
I'm rather well read.. and have more then my fair share of dealings with organized religion and their agendas.
I don't "hate" religion nor am I out to discriminate against anyone for their beliefs.. but their beliefs run counter to mine and I'm not about to sit down and allow their agenda to overrun my own.
I don't "blindly" call religion to task.. I call them to task over demonstrable evils.
I don't consider myself extreme, just vocal.
PaleHearse 3 months ago
@PaleHearse What's funny is that you consider yourself both vocal and well-read. And yet if that were true, you wouldn't be stereotyping all devout people or claiming that atheists are the Muslims' "greatest threat."
You sound more like some little kid full of hot air claiming that everyone is out to persecute him by having their own religious beliefs. It's funny because that's what Christian evangelicals in America frequently do.

@shabeki
More taqiyya?
You seem to be the one who was just handed his head regarding his own doctrine.
Though you are now pouting and stomping your feet.. you have actually not at all addressed the validity of what I said. Just more obfuscation and posturing about how your being "misunderstood". That defense is getting old.. and will no longer disguise the ugly intent of a rather vicious religion.
Your not being persecuted.. your being.. understood.
PaleHearse 3 months ago
@PaleHearse Ah, so a Muslim who integrates into the country he's born in is committing "taqiyya."
You really are a mentally ill bigot with no grasp of the facts. Good job proving that you don't even know who came up with the term "religion of peace."
shabeki 3 months ago
@shabeki
I've laid bare what taqiyya is here I think. It's simple.. the religion you are choosing to follow is increasingly being seen for the violent and untrustworthy ideology it really is.
That may be upsetting to you that it's now exposed.. but no one in the end is worse off for that revelation... not even you.
Peace.. I hope.
PaleHearse 3 months ago
@PaleHearse No, you've laid bare how little you know about Islam and how ignorant and stupid you are. And frankly, you've exposed how little intelligence and education you have.
If you're dumb enough to think that all Muslims are violent and can't be trusted, then you really don't know much about the world. I doubt a guy who probably lives in his parents' basement is capable of entering the working world and do anything to contribute other than being a parasitic drain on society.

PaleHearse 2 months ago
@PaleHearse You think any religion is bad. And frankly, your obnoxious behavior here is a pretty negative reflection on atheism as a whole. People like you do nothing but try to disrespectfully challenge others' beliefs. It's the reason why I have far more respect for other religions than for atheism.
For all the attacks on Islam being supposedly violent, I have yet to see a shred of proof that most Muslims are violent. Because if 1+ billion people were really that violent the world would end.
shabeki 2 months ago
@shabeki
..properly identifying the areas where religious scriptures are abused and used as a license for hate, instead make excuses for those verses and the people that use them to further their specific violent and repressive goals.
What you are seeing in islam is that people in general are NOT violent but they are stuck in a religion that encourages violence and deception to further the goals of those who gain strength from it.
The average muslim gains no strength from the practice.
PaleHearse 2 months ago
@PaleHearse How exactly does Islam encourage violence and deception? It encourages them to give to the poor, save lives and be humble. Atheists, on the other hand, believe that there is no God and that our actions can have no meaning. So atheists can believe that we can be violent or that we can be peaceful. It doesn't matter which.
Have you noticed that America has become more violent since the majority of the people admittedly have moved towards being less devout?
shabeki 2 months ago
@shabeki
Yes.. what I'm saying that your not accepting is that just as with christianity, not all who call themselves christians persecute gays as a matter of practice or even go to church.
Muslims are no different. Not all those who identify as muslims in muslim countries are violent or deceptive Not all would persecute gays or be active in racist practices against jews.
That, however, does not remove these hateful and violent passages from their holy books as part of doctrine.
PaleHearse 2 months ago
@PaleHearse What's funny is that more than 99% of Muslims are peaceful people and yet you want to demonize them because of religious passages. It's like me saying that you're a hateful, violent piece of shit because you're American and America has increasing crime rates and poor race relations.
Most Muslims want to live their lives in peace without disrespectful idiots antagonizing and persecuting them just because their beliefs are different. Sound familiar? It should...
shabeki 2 months ago
@shabeki
PaleHearse 2 months ago
@shabeki
More clear?
PaleHearse 2 months ago
@PaleHearse Most major religions encourage persecution of homosexuals. Even Orthodox Jews are very intolerant of them. Why you're focusing on Islam here when others are equally culpable is beyond me. However, what you fail to see is that I haven't said a negative thing about homosexuals here at all. And yet you're disrespectfully insulting my religion to me.
Not to some fanatic, but to me. You're just a troll with no sense of perspective. It's why your point fails miserably.
shabeki 2 months ago
@shabeki

That is, you're a pretty delusional angstheist and confrontational troll who just feels an incessant need to annoy anyone who's a Muslim......just for being a Muslim. You should save your pity for yourself.
Anyone who spends so much of worthless time hating people just for being Muslim must live a rather empty life.
shabeki 1 month ago
@shabeki
Again. though that sounded cute to say.. it didn't directly address where any of my points were in error.
PaleHearse 1 month ago
@PaleHearse You have no points. You're just a rude, bitter, virulent troll who arrogantly thinks you have a right to tell others what to believe.
Again, I don't see anyone else here caring what you think. People like you are the reason why most people dislike atheists and their obnoxious, needlessly confrontational nature.
You represent everything wrong with angstheists today. And you're sadly dumb enough to think your opinion holds merit on any level. Frankly, you're just an ignoramus.
shabeki 1 month ago

@PaleHearse What were your points again? That non-violent Muslims aren't really Muslims? Or that you don't respect any religion or anyone who believes in one?
And you say that other people have a hateful foundation? Face it: you're just a two-bit, pseduo-intellectual warped, mentally ill troll. What's funny is that you really delude yourself to think that you're being taken seriously by anyone here...
shabeki 1 month ago
@shabeki
...as a license to hate.
PaleHearse 1 month ago
@PaleHearse Riiiight, all Muslims hate Jews! So I guess those Muslims who marry Jews in Tel Aviv or Haifa must hate their spouses. And the Muslim guys I know in America who marry or date Jewish women must hate Jewish girls! In fact, I must hate Jewish women so much that that's why I refer to my penis as the "Sword of Islam!"
You really are getting more pathetic here. You're so warped that you don't even realize that your behavior here is more vile than anything else you're talking about.
shabeki 1 month ago
@shabeki
PaleHearse 1 month ago
@shabeki
PaleHearse 1 month ago
@PaleHearse You're not even making sense by your own twisted standards. So on one hand you admit that Qur'an (learn how to spell if you want to be taken seriously) preaches religious tolerance and on the other, you're saying that Muslims hate Jews because they're warped by Islam. Even for a dishonest liar, you're making little sense here.
Why do you idiot angstheist trolls insist on biting off more than you can chew? What is clear is that what little you do respect isn't worth much.

@shabeki
So.. we wind up with little gems like this:

@PaleHearse But you just said that Islam encourages religious tolerance of others. So how is it now a tool in anti-Semitism? And moreover, how does a religion that enocourages religious tolerance so "vile" that it deserves your useless angstheist trolling?
Trying to change the subject to another video does not distract from you painting yourself into another corner.
shabeki 1 month ago
@shabeki

Nazis ruled through fascism.
Muslims rule through fascism.
Nazis conducted a genocidal campaign against the Jews.
Muslims are conducting a genocidal campaign against the Jews.
Nazis DIDN'T want to exterminate all non-Nazis.
Muslims DO want to exterminate all non-Muslims.
Most Nazis were normal people who went to work each day and loved their children.
Most Muslims are normal people who go to work each day and love their children.

While one side worships God, the other worships themselves and their supposed superiority.

religion does make a desert as the ancient scottish warrior Calgacus said of the Roman empire "You make a desert and call it peace".

@TheProphetMo ur actually just disgusting! forget religion or race as a HUMAN that's not something morally you should be saying..what ever religion a person follows has nothing to do with you, each and every religion does not have to be loved but each and every religion does indeed deserve respect.think about that please.x
peace,love,happiness..x
MJALWAYZ 10 months ago
I like your final statement, "Peace, love, happiness.", though I tend to disagree with the notion that religion particularly deserves respect. The charitable works that many religions do, feeding, clothing and housing the homeless are acts that deserve respect to be sure. But then there are all the totally disgusting crimes that religions have perpetrated over the centuries which warrant no respect whatsoever. I guess I'm torn. But, again, I am 100% behind your final statement. Good day.
didyouseethatlight 10 months ago
@didyouseethatlight Hi, thanks for replying to my comment in a decent manner unlike some people. I too agree with you. Those who commit crimes "In the name of there religion" should NOT be respected. I believe that ALL religions are pure and do not encourage any crime at all..therefore crimes commited by followers of certain religions should not automaticcaly mean that there religion is at fault, it is purely the fault of the human who clearly interpreted there religion wrong...continued x

@buddybleau ............. I think you didn't get it... By saying "if he's still alive" he was referring to the fact he's taking the risk of openly condemning Islam. buddybleau 1 year ago

What he utterly dispises are the appalling ideas people are prepared to accept because of religion.
mossfitz 1 year ago
@mossfitz Well he's against the building of mosques besides ground zero but they're building a CHURCH there too as we speak he hasn't addressed that in any of his videos. And since I'm a man of reason I must assume that he has some small grudge against brown people since he's attacking a religion that's practice wise dominated by brown people whiles leaving one mostly practiced by white people relatively alone.
But even more compelling is that he's a supporter of a xenophobic party.
LiBlub1 1 year ago
@LiBlub1 The twin towers were destroyed and nearly 3,000 people massacred in the name of Islam - not in the name of Christianity.
From my reading of the Koran and the life of Muhammad - who killed hundreds of prisoners with his own hands - it is disengenuous of Muslims to argue that The terrorists of 9/11 were not acting in the spirit of `true´Islam´. True Islam is to follow the teachings and example of Muhammed - who`s mass murders and call to kill unbelievers are fully accepted by Muslims.
mossfitz 1 year ago
@mossfitz If you want to ignore the fact that all religious people aren't fundies then lets play that game, I'm up for all that.
Lets start with the inquisition, slavery, banning abortion, surpression of the third world, the crusades, the racism/nazism against Jews in europe, the labeling of blacks as subhumans, and many many more.
It's obvious that even if he dislikes Christianity he favours it above Islam despite the fact that Islam has killed less, You haven't debated the racism claims either
LiBlub1 1 year ago

Sometimes it is also neccessary for the law to refuse to differentiate but we are not lawers here - we are discussing values i think.
mossfitz 1 year ago
@mossfitz Are you under the impression that I'm trying to defend muslims by calling you equally nutty to you. I am not.
I'm telling you that exactly 100% of what you'll find in the Qur'an, you'll also find in the Bible.
LiBlub1 1 year ago
@LiBlub1 Well, i was talking about the New Testament being a step way ahead of the old - but of course, you are right, the two are still attached together in some weird theological mumbo-jumbo `if this new stuff doesn´t work, let´s keep the old weapons under the bed just in case". This, despite the fact that Christ unequivocally renounces the old testament in the semon on the mount.
But 100%?? There are no will-less zombie virgins promised in the Bible for example.
mossfitz 1 year ago
@mossfitz Eternal bliss is promised. Then, technically, it is promised just not written down in those words.
If eternal bliss for a rapist for instance is mindless zombie virgins then(if he is faithful to the lord in his earthly life) then surely he must get those mindless zombie virgins.
But that Jesus has renounced the Old Testament I didn't know up til' now. I just thought he like "explained" it the right way, just like Mormons, Rastafaris and Muslims do. But I guess that's kinda the same.
LiBlub1 1 year ago
@LiBlub1 "You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.' - But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also." (Gospel of Mathew)
But let´s not get into talking about the `Magic Book´.
Your thinking is legalistic and looking for general principles.
Do we need to think like the law, which is famously an ass?
Christ´s influence has TENDED to support normal human decency against normal h.brute force
mossfitz 1 year ago
@mossfitz
The "eye for an eye" passage was about restitution, not retaliation.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@thegirl44 What daft things believers will believe once they put their "minds" to it - the old testament suggesting an eye-transplant.. Don´t be silly Whatever you can say about Christ, the idea that he was mistaken in his interpretion of the phrase as `resisting evil´ is grotesque. Christ had to thread a political line in his teachings - not contradicting directly the primitive mumbo-jumbo people then believed revealed in the magic book - he failed in this and was crucified for that
mossfitz 1 year ago
@mossfitz
If you read the bible in the minutae that you read my comment I can understand why you don't get it. Have you never seen a blind person being aided or guided by a sighted person, hence "offering the use of his eyes"?
I do like people who look for the simplest understanding of things, though. It's so quaint.

twooffour 1 year ago
@LiBlub1 excuse me? There was a church there that was destroyed on 9/11, and they are not going to rebuild it. America is a country founded on Christian/Jewish principles so why should they build a church. Your suggestion that he has a grudge against brown people is totally nonce's, he has a problem with islam like anybody should have with normal upbringing. Islam only teaches; hate death destruction and stupidity. They are the parasite of the developed world, are you one of them?
Tralgit 1 year ago
@Tralgit Firstly, Islam is founded, just like the New Testament, in the Torah so you essentially have the same believes.
The only difference between the two Holy books of both faiths is that the Qur'an actually has some math in it.
I for one am an atheist.
But it's quite evident to me that if there are two ideologies of equal wrongdom and evilness, and one chooses to discredit and attack "A"(excessively) before "B", then he must have some fundamental issue with the followers of said ideology.
