  • reminds me of an episode of Archer....

"Hello airplanes? Yeah it's blimps, you win. Bye!"

    watch?v=Kq-N3_plNq8

  • Ya that cool and all..

    But will it BLEND???

  • Looks nice, but i would not step onto such a wall like object that seems it is more likely to be carried into the wind (and unfortunatly into buildings) than use its own propulsion (which cannot be seen at all, making it appear more like a luxury balloon waiting to crash).

  • If you think about it, the sixties-seventies people who were born in that time frame might see practical immortality for thousands of years, at least in the developed world. The life expectancy will not just rise, but rise faster and faster, leading to a threshold where you're sixty, and your lifespan's seventy. When you're seventy, it'll be 85. When 85, it'll be 110. And with genetic stuff, that'll most likely happen.

  • Hotels on the ground.. -check

    Hotels on air.... -check

hotels in space... - in process

now all we need is an underground aqua hotel lol, instead of pools you go diving..

  • I soooooo want to go on this cruise but it is not buit but they are thinking on building it I know this becoz my teachers son designed this

  • hmm so i suppose by 2070 or later they could build this and I would be in my 70s but look like im in my 30s and then they would have 1000 of these. So maybe all of us should wait until 2070 to continue on with our lives until this happens. NOT. Folks where decades behind in technology. They have 1,000,000 TB of storage out there!

  • if you were born between 1960 and now, i can safely say that you will have the chance to go in one in the year 2042, and you will probably live beyond 2100-2200

  • @black00dice I'd add that if you live beyond 2200 you are also very likely to last thousands of years... millions/billions if you wish.

  • @Shinjeez probably, hopefully not too long though, because the universe's demise is pretty ugly to say the least

  • Je sais pas pourquoi mais je trouve ce projet vachement flippant.

  • This will never happen. We where supposed to have flying cars in the year 2000.

  • It looks pretty cool, but how does it move?

  • You guys wont be laughing if in 50 years time this becomes common place.

  • I suppose I have plenty of time to save for this trip!

  • If you can dream, you can realize!

  • best Asian women lushfmlk.info

  • I like it a lot, but I think the interior needs to be more colorful.

  • this is not projected to fly for another 35 years, i don't think this world has that much time left.

  • @persevere67 YAAAY! THE WAIT FOR 2046 IS ON! Btw, why wont the Earth last until 2046, apocalypse theories?

  • @Pst0ner apocalypse theories sell quicker than hot cakes, they come and go, and the Earth isn't going to end in a long while, so don't listen to these attention seekers

  • This will never happen

  • hey_añýòne_wÂnNá_chÂt_wÌth_me_Î_fËël_sÖ_lÓñÉlý_tÓdÃy~

  • Ok, that's it, huge flying hotels is were I draw the line.

Screw you guys, I'm going offline.

  • Absoulutely amazing!

  • I wanna live in it!!

  • Futuristic, optimistic, the way we should enjoy life and look forward to the future. This way of leisure-airtravel will be the most wonderful way of transportation. Flying is always fun, but this way of flying is the best! Hopefully tickets will be affordable, when this rigid airship flies I'll be on board! Good luck and best wishes to the design team! Let's make this wonder of the skies fly as soon as possible!

    Anthonie (Netherlands)

  • Its been predicted that these will come into existence in 2043, hmmmm...

  • the technology exists. We just need the damn money.

  • Kind of looks like the 5th angel from evangelion.

  • Dear Santa....

  • ANTIG :) Yes.

  • Yes!!!

  • Para andar bien marijuano...

  • Can anyone tell me how it is going to fly?

    Is it a balloon?

  • @maulik127 i think it is like the Hotel airship

  • 2:40 HOLY CRAP! Is that an oversized iPad?!

    Now ive seen everything....

  • @TheHornet79 Technically it's an oversized iPod Touch if you are drawing that comparison... :P

  • whats the likelihood for this to really be in existence?

  • very awesome like a UFO very very advanced I love it ! your 50 or more years ahead of everyone what a leap in technology! I would love to have a ride in that.

  • 2080

  • rofl bullshit!!!!

  • Seriously sterile, pointless overemphasis on interior design. No regard for the grandeur of nature that airships are perfectly suited to reveal.

  • 2:41 Giant TV Iphone lol

  • Guys this is fake!

They've beren known for making ads for crazy stuff from Lynx (AXE) to Vibrators... WTF

    It's just a publicity stunt!

Dan's airship site has some good information on this.

  • @PahangDragonbird

It's not "fake" it's a concept, there's a major difference. If development goes how they want, this will be a reality in 2015, but again right now it's just a concept.

  • Alien technology?

  • Investigation of the Hindenburg disaster showed that the hydrogen was only secondarily involved. The hydrogen on the inside of the cells only lit after the skin of the dirigible had been burning for a while. The skin was covered in highly flammable "dope" sealant and was the primary cause of the incident. Hydrogen is very manageable, and considerably more so than in 1937.

  • @milesnoell No, further investigation of this theory has indicated that the fabric would burn far too slowly to account for the flame acceleration. It would take the Hindenburg 48 hours to burn LOL. Additionally, while the fabric may have been ignited by a spark first, the Hydrogen powered the fire to accelerate. However, the ignition of fabric by a spark is pretty much impossible as the fabric was wet and tests have shown it could not have been ignited by a spark.

  • "I gotta get myself one of these!"

  • If everything old is new again I guess it's about time to revisit a "Hindenburg" rehash. That issue aside I have a more important question/observation... why are these ideas coming from developing countries and not the U.S.?

We gave away agriculture, manufacturing, technology and who knows what else. So what is America doing... can you say "would you like fries with that?" Pity.

  • Dear All,

I have some questions about psychology:

    (1) Why do we love flying?

    (2) Why do we enjoy to pilot airships?

    (3) How does the enjoyment to fly on an airship differ from that to fly on an aeroplane?

    (4) What will be the best facilities to be install on this airship cruise (or airship hotel) to ensure tourists' luxury?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

  • Yes we can!! (before 2012 please) XD

  • annoying music

  • As long as a few hundred test flights are conducted with "crash test dummies" and its been a viable enterprise for a good 10-20 years count me in!

  • hydrogen, 145km/h... kind of sounds like an easy target... but man I wanna ride in it. Very cool.

  • Solar powered hmm? Cool, but what if there's a bit of light cloud cover? It'd make the Hindenberg look like a minor air incident if this beast came crashing down. Worth pitching to the galactic empire though, Palpatine and Vader could really make a statement in one of these with a few mean ion cannons attached to its sides. That's how seriously this idea should be taken. Cool tho, always good to imagine.

  • something about this is really unsettling. i don't think we're ready for something as absurd as this yet. in my opinion

  • Mr talbot, you could have at least have applied this (zero emission) concept to everyday common use that may have changed the way humans think of travel forever, instead you gave us an old man version of a rocket.

  • mainly for pussy's who don't like extreme sports.. I think, instead of building for the wealthy, why don't we express a common creativity in transport design that may one day lead us to communicate with other civilisations - yes im talking practical super quick space travel. this object is really a waste of time and money.

  • @tubethis82 That's what the LHC is for in effect, which was a helluva lot more expensive than this thing could ever be.

  • Hydrogen is the lightest gas, so it's best for this sort of job. You could probably make sure it was pretty safe, technology is better now than in the 1930'. What killed most airships back then was wind and storms though. Maybe this will be better designed to cope with them or fly above them or something?

  • The last time they did a hydrogen airship they had the Hindenburg disaster. All aboard!

  • @patchouligirl2000

If we look at life from the standpoint you mention, the motorcar would have died after its first accident, and we would not be using electricity today as they were sure to have experienced death by electric shock long before our towns attempted to replace gas street lights with electric lights. We learn to manage the risk.

  • @ookland81 They did address the risk - they switched to helium. The only reason the Hindenburg wasn't running on helium in the first place was trade restrictions didn't allow the Germans to buy it. After the Hindenburg disaster no one used hydrogen again - it is too flammable. This has to be a joke, they won't seriously do this.

  • great something new for terrorists to shot RPGs at.

  • @xIR3B1RTHIx rpgs are very, very short range. And shoulder mounter surface to air misses wouldn't get a lock. You'd have better luck with a portable 30mm antiaircraft cannon.

  • Zeppelin kind of.... Just different shape. And I hope, much safer than Zeppelins.... But in general, a load of crap, no need for such craft,,,,

  • @audiavantveesix but it has bigger space and more comfortable yay!

  • WOW... if they actually build this i'd be keen to take a cruise. amazing!

  • @inubaby617 Sure if you have a hundred million dollars

  • @black00dice haha a girl can dream right!

  • Zeppelin kind of.... Just different shape. And I hope, much safer than Zeppelins.... But in general, a load of crap, no need for such craft,,,,

  • This would work except for gravity.

  • I love the idea of slowing travel down. You could almost not go anywhere or just hang around at your destination untill you next want to be there.

  • i think the people who workin this design think about that kind of problem .

  • If it doesn't fly, it could still be a neat installment in the MYST series.

  • Just don't name it the Hindenburg.

It looks like it will be beautiful! I would love to ride in this!

  • what happens in even the slightest turbulence? This thing gets real ugly when seat belts and other bits are added... beautiful design for something that stays fixed to the ground...

  • Reminds me of the movie "Thunderbird 6". lol

  • They could use helium instead of hydrogen. What I see being a problem is that this is a commercial endeavor. It's pretty unrealistic to think that they would waste all this space when they could put on more seats (more money).

  • Wasn't there a little issue with the last great airship floated by hydrogen? Oh, the humanity!

  • Comment removed

  • Isn't this "starship" too slow?

  • I would very much like to travel with it !!

  • And what will happend under bad weather conditions? When wind exceed the aircrafts maximum speed and they can't control it?

  • @ronnedal

Maybe it can go higher above the storm.

  • propulsion system? Steering system?

  • I think it's fantastic however it does reminds me of the Zeppeling

  • I love the concept and I like the architecture ok, but I don't like the interior design. Stop trying to make the furniture, color schemes and lighting look all "futuristic" and just stick with timeless sophistication plz, kthx.

  • @threeeels move along old dude...its time for some NEW "timeless sophistication"

  • I have one of these in my garden.

  • Sounds like a good idea but they need to solve problems such as steering, high wind stability and the fact that hydrogen is extremely volatile and not to mention what would happen if the Aircruise were to crash into the sea or land. Good concept but probably unusable in the real world

  • @jammin138 Ignorant

  • @jammin138 It uses helium, dum-dum.

  • @12stringsforme Nope, on their website it states hydrogen.

  • hahihi i feel hony today anyone shares the same feeling as me

  • lol, the shape of that thing reminds me of the sims diamond :D

what about a storm or a tornado? it'll be blown away, wont it?

  • I want to buy it this XD

  • ambitious and fair but not viable :/

  • see ya in 2985 for the grand opening...

  • @killabeezle i think it opends in july/june or something

  • @killabeezle its predicted for 2040s...but im more interested in how im supposed to be alive in 2985! tell me!!

  • @walker1054 oh lord...

  • @killabeezle closer to 2045 actually

  • @killabeezle in the year 2985 this will be crap and won't even exist anymore, since too primitive. This is more likely to be before 2050

  • @killabeezle 2042*

  • Hydrogen = Boom

  • Comment removed

  • @letyran62

Hydrogen + Oxygen + fire or spark = Boom

  • wow i wont to go now

  • I want to buy a ticket!

  • but airships r SO slow... jet engines arnt clean... but they are fast...

  • well slowdown a bit XD

  • 全体の色が青かったらポジトロンライフルで撃ち抜きたくなる形だな。。。

    でも乗ってみたい!

  • ooOOoo

Sikk i wanna own dis piece man

  • oooo, mile high club here we go!

  • future is now...

  • what the hack is that?

  • what happens if it hits a bad storm?

  • @whowotme

    It descends and anchors.

Also before that you take care to avoid the storm as with any other aironautical vehicle.

  • @whowotme Your $2000 wine will be spilt I assume :D

  • 水素じゃ、ヒンデンブルク号と同じじゃん

  • How can this be possible?

  • Is it "Empty" version of the movie of 2012?

  • If this were to actually exist, then the already present issue with air pollution would only increase.

  • This looks magic

  • STAR TREK

  • Reminds a little of those imperial Leather ads from the '70's.

  • p0rtal-style interiors....

let's hope we don't end up locked in some twisted experiment =S

  • un crucero aereo de lujo, esto es vida....

que no lo vean Cristina Kirchner ni Nestor Kirchner que a lo mejor se hacen uno para viajar desde Buenos Aires al Calafate...

  • I like the concept, but there are weather issues I´m not sure about, like dodging sudden bad weather, as well as ground support.

Nice concept, but not practical at all.

    Or cheap...

    Or safe...

  • When weather conditions are about to deteriorate, you just climb on top of the clouds, and you're set above the storm. And the spectacle would be awesome from there.

  • A simple solution, but I very much have my doubts.

One, it does not appear to be "drivable" at all, the ability to go up or down will not make it safe.

Two, it seems aerodynamically too much unstable to withstand any kind of smooth flying.

When more details are revealed, I´ll get a more precise idea. So far, not promising.

  • then you would have to heat and pressurise the whole thing. . .

lighter than air travel is the way forward (as it was in the past) but they will still look like blimps imo.

  • @existentialvoid If its big enough, it can be any shape they want.

  • Zero emission? Yea, Nice idea, even being too luxury (and expensive) service for general applications. I believe hidrogen lifting airship is not much more dangerous than a standard commercial jet travelling at 500mph with its wings loaded with aviation kerosene.

  • its not bad buti dont support this project!

  • I will just say that some of people dont have anything to eat, and look at this ?

  • What a joke. Do you even see how blatantly stupid that statement is?

  • hmm, yeah, very nice.

i can already predict a James Bond movie will be shot on this Aircruise lol.

  • Billionaires will build these for the bragging rights. It will be a good way to develop the concept as well. Mansion in the sky. Thrust I think comes from the vertical edge like slots, and probably from a sail like effect. Thats a big area presented to the wind.

  • 40 maybe 30 years

  • @renegatt Maybe not..

  • Beleza, tem todo meu apio esta iniciativa....

  • I'm sure terrorists or some drunk redneck would never think of shooting at these or blowing THESE out of the sky. Also the Hindenburg comes to mind like all the other posts. Helium is in short supply and expensive so you couldn't substitute it for the hydrogen either. I don't doubt it will fly but I doubt it will fly financially. I wouldn't invest in it nor take a "cruise" ON it either. This reminded me of the pyramid that appeared over Moscow. Maybe they already have these around. Bad idea.

  • great idea but seems bit expensive

  • Well I did think it was a bit out there and unrealistic, but after reading the total B.S about "Hydrogen Airship Nonsense" I now think if that many informed fools are against it, they might be on to something!

  • What caused the Hindenburg disaster? Static electricity and the skin made of iron oxide and aluminum-impregnated cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB); aka rocket fuel. Nice combo there guys!

  • Hmmm, Castels in the sky, i have seen those before. Wont hold my breath for it, but soo wish i had to!

  • It's a design concept, not a realistic aviation project.

(Google "Hydrogen Airship Nonsense" for more analysis.)

Seymourpowell are great futurists, but they are not aircraft designers. A giant "wall" like their diamond-shaped design (as opposed to a streamlined shape) would require tremendous amounts of energy for forward motion (if it could overcome headwinds at all), and would be dangerously vulnerable to gusts during docking operations; the shape is basically a giant sail.

  • first piece is obviously craig armstrong , don't remember which one though...

  • Thanks!

  • but it seems they have changed for a cheap one now...

  • What is the first piece of music used in this presentation? Thanks anyone...

  • Very ambitious plans - they want to be able to bump into skyscrapers, suspension bridges, you name it.

Personally, I would make like a pregnant hippo and give them a wide birth.

  • @DownNeptune

They could make the ship look like a big purple hippopotamus.

  • I like this idea. I really, really do. I don't know how feasible it'll be and I'm sure the cost of riding one on its day-and-a-half voyage would be astronomical. But part of me just wants to save the money to do it. For real. I mean, the interior alone is worth it. Breathtakingly futuristic.

  • to all the Naysayers, this is a completely possible design. This is by far the most complete and beautifully rendered airship I've seen in sometime. The attention to detail for the interior is amazingly inviting.

  • Where is the propolsion system? What drives it, steers it, controls it? How is it manouvered into position?

  • Looks sweet :) - I'd love to ride in one of these, and love to see airships make a comeback, they are very elegant craft if you ask me - like the cruise ships of the skies :) Lovely animation :P

  • The only thing they need to add is robot servants and laser cannons.

  • The Americans have built heavier than air vehicles with rigid shell that can carry mega-tons of weight already ,or so says an old Scientific American mag. I read about these decades ago just don't know why they are not being used. These would of been of great use in Haiti!

  • Breath-taking!! And looks like Starship Titanic (if anyone read it, will remember) :)

  • I am absolutely infatuated!! How much a cruise will cost??? like billions??
