I just downloaded Tor. When I want to download a file, I got a popup from Tor saying that it needs "an external application" to be able to download a file and that doing this would "compromise my identity." Huh? What do I need to do to be able to download a file off of places like Megaupload and Rapidshare without revealing my true id? Please help!

Yes, You can. Go to Torbutton preferences on firefox. Then Click on security setting, dynamic content and uncheck the box that says Disable plugins during Tor usage.

@TheCyberGeneral : it is necessary if u want to use the settings i showed on proxy firewall, else you can use on proxy firewall ur own proxy settings without going through Tor.

Get an Australian ip from here (website added to the description): after checking it, open ur proxy firewall, and set a new rule, instead of using the 127.0.0.1:9050 , use the australian proxy's ip and port , then configure the programs you want to use the australian ip, in this case the game !

make sure you ran tor and privoxy at first, and also check if you checked "sock4", ip is : 127.0.0.1 , Port : 9050. Or else try to close privoxy, tor , vidalia & proxy firewall and try again (try to kill their process from memory [CTRL+ALT+DEL].

I tried to do it, still it doesnt work. Also restarted the computer a sereval times. It vidalia program itself works great if I enable the "Tor" button for firefox, but it doesnt work just by setting it up with proxy firewall :S
