To me, HWIK was a historically important video for MTV. It really allowed all women of all races to appear (You Give Good Love and Saving All My Love for You were "blacklisted", and were only found on VH1 and select local outlets such as New York Hot Tracks. ) Showing it for the first time on MTV may contribute to the relatively late peak of her debut album. (Though half of the population still didn't have cable at the time!)
