The lead singer reminds me of Owen Wilson. I remember these guys from watching Carmen Sandiego, they introduces me to the wonderful world of a capella. They are awsome!
what made me come here was because i was on retro junk, and i saw them on a Taco Bell commercial! i knew they sounded familiar! then i thought, "OMG! they sang the theme to my fave show!" yes! yeeeeeeeesh!
@EnigmaDrath you are right in that it being a microphone but I would think it is used more to pick up the noises he makes in his throat when he is beat-boxing.
@EnigmaDrath no no..those are special mics that pic up when he is being a drum machine...they pic up the bass notes that he makes in deep in his throat.
@wyomon1 The bassist in the video is Barry Carl but he is no longer with the group. However Rockapella is still a stellar and professional group, their concerts are a lot of fun and the guys are all very very nice people.
it's "wonderful world". frontmanmike has it right. think of james taylor, "something in the way she moves", which led george harrison to write "something", the first line of which is "something in the way she moves" (he asked for permission from James first). anyway, I love these guys, and thanks for all the close-ups and calm camera, not easy to find.
Nope, not entirely wrong. I said the song isn't "What a Wonderful World"
"I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world."
THAT is "What a Wonderful World."
This song is called "Wonderful World," and informally (more commonly) known by it's first line, "Don't Know Much About History." Both titles are correct, I'm just avoiding the confusion as best I can.
verry good sir....but this songs official title is WONDERFUL WORLD...I know it might be hard to understand this but songs do have the same names some time...Sorry...
No, What a Wonderful World is a Louis Armstrong song. That one I believe is called Don't Know Much About History but I could be wrong. However I'm fully sure about What a Wonderful World being a Satchmo song.
what makes them so amazing are the locked vowels , making the chords ring and the harmony so much tighter then any other "up on the roof" vid on here.
Rockapella just isn't the same without Barry Carl.

2:54 -> What's that on his throat? Is it a mircophone to specifically pick up on his humming?

PandaLove90210 1 year ago
@EnigmaDrath he's the drum set of the group, if you catch my drift. So I'm guessing that the device on his throat is to pick up his beats and etc.

Wow, guys. This song is called "Don't Know Much About History," and it was made famous by Sam Cooke.
What A Wonderful World is an entirely different song, just one that is often used in a MEDLEY with this one by a cappella groups.

HELLO PEOPLE
the song is called Wonderful World, there's two songs that are called that
this however is not the same as the Louis Armstrong Wonderful World
i've never heard it called by that other name, maybe they do not know the title and just use that as the title.
stop being so ignorant
