and to anyone still trying to get it working, all i did was get MAMEUI v0.135 (any later version works too) and then google up Mame B Rap Boys (World). Be sure to also get the B Rap Boys Special rom too, for the version in this video

boy am I happy this works in MAME now. I played DJ Boy in arcades here in Ohio like 19 years ago, and i never knew it had a follow up. This ones so much more awesome! It also fits what Kaneko was shooting for moreso than DJ Boy does

The whole rumor about this game originally being about the Beastie Boys is completely false, and I know, because the person who started the rumor emailed me and came clean and said he made the whole thing up. He came up with the description of the game and the cabinet design himself and submitted it to KLOV when he was younger, because he liked to trick people, and that's why the entry was removed from the KLOV database, so this game was NOT originally about the Beastie Boys.

I haven't even tried it my self yet. But so.. Far as I did tried it to get it to work on my PC, it was only for DoS. There isn't of a working Windows 32-bit client of Mame working for the PC yet. It is working for Mame but incompleted emulation. If you go and look at the Mame team had did an uploaded of a 3 player version 00:11 of the incompleted emulation of the game.

The Japanese developers wanted it to use Beasty Boys, but they didn't like it like in order for the license use. Hm... Some people actually thought it would of been a bad idea to have Beasty Boys anyway compared to thies phat ass samples!

B.Rap Boys is now working on mame. i suggest you get the latest MameUI Version...and you'll need to find a fresh rom..but i can't tell you where

It works on MAME 133 u4 and higher. Search for "haze b rap boys mame" on Google. Those are emulated screenshots I've played it.

yeah. ever since they announced that B Rap was playable, i've been playing it ever since. of course, for one man army runs, it does take some patience to handle things (since you can accidentally hit your other players like in Double Dragon)

It is not a Mame emu!!! This is an actual arcade (PCB) that I have actually tooken out of an arcade furniture to work it on my S-Video. From there I'll have my pc to record it here to Youtube it for you guys.

If you want to increase the chances of seeing this game correctly emulated in MAME, then I suggest you head towards MAME Worlds webpage and vote for "Chip 99" to be decapped as a priority in their poll. Chip 99 is the NEC uPD78324 used by B Rap Boys.

There is a specialized encryption method inside of the B.Rap CPU (for copyright reasons of blocking). When booting it into the ram, only the software can pass the calc check due* to the B.Rap CPU language. The Mame crew has been trying to resolve this for more than 8 years of me waiting... HEH!! I saw this game in the arcades when i was 13, and so i was like ... oh man, how much of an allowance must i save XD

I just tried a while ago, but the emulator said it was not working and was missing files or CHD files. I downloaded from 3 sites and they all have the same amount of files and are the same.

CHD?? That is a hard drive, The B.Rap Boys was never a mass installer and that it virtually doesn't use any of the hard drive's at all. (Only something like the Killer Instinct game that uses the hard drive due to its huge installment.) The B.Rap Boys is just a motherboard full of an old school ram's of 4MB installment.

But he is too slow, it gets irritating when the enemies from the entire game runs faster than him. The only plus sign is that when he either has a staff or a bat, he has the longest reaches out everyone in the entire game. Playing him is basically sacrificing massive speed for more attack reaches. The other 2 characters has more running and attack speed. The guy in the blue has the shortest attack reaches, the guy in the green knows martial arts on skates lo.l The black guy has nothing to ride.
