I remember this parade because when Alladin came around, he recognized my brother and I from when we met him earlier and pointed to us and waved. That was a great family moment for us for years. I still think Disney World was the best vacation I've ever been on so many years later.

Technically speaking, if this was in 1997, wouldn't this have been the 26th Anniversary? Or have I confused my dates again? I thought Walt Disney World opened on October 1st in 1971, with Epcot opening on the same day in 1982ish, followed by MGM in 1985-1988, and then Animal Kingdom in 1997. If I am wrong, please correct me!

@ztslovebird They celebrate forever! I think it goes from October 1, 1996 through the end of 1997. I worked on the parade route for the last half of 1997 and we had this 25th anniversary parade every day (minus Christmas time, of course).

for anyone who saw this live, I am curious about something. I have the music to this parade and at some points, there seem to be showstop music. The genie sings, Sebastain sings, the BATB folk sing....I don't see it in this video though. Can anyone explain this?

I think it was the same. Although it was so long ago since I seen it live. I think it was only down Mainsteet USA. All the floats had their own unique songs for the stops.

Hello 777hobo777, I was there about 10 years ago now, but I think that the song is played on all the floats at the same time BUT on SOME floats there are some words dubbed over the music.

So when a float drives past with goofy on board, you hear Goofy laughing and talking from the speakers on his own float.

I think that's how they did it!

I saw this parade and i was one of the volenteers who danced with the disney charecters. I was with Snow White and the seven dwarfs. I was like 6 when i was there.

Funny Thing About That Castle float. My dad showed me a clip of the Disneyland Very Merry Christmas Parade in 1991, and the Castle float was in it. Many of the floats from the Disneyland Merry Christmas parade were shipped to WDW in 1992

This parade certainly has left a legacy: the castle float.

It's been in every Magic Kingdom parade for the last twelve years, including this one. For every parade they tape a new banner on it and maybe put up some new flags.

I'm really starting to hate it. xD

This wasn't the first parade I saw at Disney World, Mickey Mania was, but this is definitely the one I remember watching most. =) I remember watching it year after year, but it only actually ran from 1996-1997. xD

Y'kno I went last summer, the feeling and the general set-up, layout HAS NOT CHANGED! Some things are so timeless, that's what I love. Disney have such a heritage, they can't easily sell out to changing fashions and fads in style of presentation, fashion and animation.
