Have you ever used superglue on those rare connectors? I've had pretty good luck with it on Bakelite parts. Were UK cords always polarized to keep the chassis neutral? Here in the US, the outlets were polarized, but the cords weren't until the '70s, by which time most radios had transformers (TVs were still live chassis). Of course, tube sets were interlocked after WWII, so you could avoid electrocution if you heeded the warning on the back.

Hi ray, when you fitted the mains lead, did you use a three cord with an earth, or just the two? if you fitted an earth, where did you wire it to?
