  • I had to learn this story for class. I like it a lot, it is funny. You just need to remember who came when...that's the tricky part...

I love the ending with the ball smiling!!!!

  • What is with the dislikes? I don't understand why...

  • @xeralt3120 probably because the people have to sign this as an assignment, like me. i'm not liking this video since i have to do it ):

  • This story is funny. And pointless lol. Very entertaining.

  • watch?v=Yxvdlx9OWyw

here's a video of myself doing "The Ball"

  • wow the asl versyon of the movie "the red ball that i saw in school. Not exactly but love this! wonderful way to show the use of classifiers and have fun.

  • Just so everyone knows, this is not the person who uploaded the video. This is Ben Bahan (as cantareadio said previously) and he is a signer in some of the best ASL learning books in schools. Just a heads up :)

  • Hi, Great story teller! Is this story written on paper? I would like a copy to do my sign language experiement for my psychology class. I'm providing the fact that asl users can remember well from watching asl stories compared to captions.

    Thanks!

  • I am in ask classes in level 2 I am loving it this is a cute story

  • Hi, I'm also an ASL student and also a I work wtih kids and I will like if you could write your story like that I can show it to my hearing students in paper so they can follow me when I gesture the story ...

    Thanks

  • Loved your facial expressions and you eye gaze made the story come alive.

  • this is awesome. it has grown more valuable to me with time. ty!

  • Thank you for posting this video! It's much appreciated by so many who'd prefer to not cart the DVD around everywhere.

And it's true, Ben really is the man.

  • Ben is the man.... this video really helped me see how the classifiers are suppose to be used.

Can you add more videos from the Signing Naturally Series. I had the level 1 VHS but it broke.

  • Classifiers are not ASL iconic signs! Each classifier represents a specific "class" or group of objects. For example, the "1" or index finger pointing up is used to represent a person and then can be moved to show action. It can also be used to represent a pole. If it's sideways it can represent pencils or cigarettes.

  • I like that story and I never saw that story before but I saw Signing Naturally Level 1 at the most.

  • It's basically a "gingerbread man" story (remember the cook chasing, then more people/animals joining) about a scientist inventing something when a boy walked in. Suddenly the chemical solution blew up, resulting in a bouncing ball. The boy got on his bike to follow, others joined. Characters: boy on bike, dog, girl on rollerblades, old man, parrot, and fat woman.

Classifers mean ASL iconic signs that represent people/things. Finished the entire translation, but can't fit here. Sorry! :)

  • what's a clasifier? i'm inrigued (i have no knowledge whatsoever of sign language). wish i could understand the story :)

  • Ben Bahan is awesome! Kinda weird thinking how much older he is today!

  • Can anyone translate the video for me? I forgot most of the classifiers and I need to review for my ASL class.

  • i like this story is so funny and i never saw that story before.

  • i have to learn all of this....for class wednesday..

  • I never saw that story before and that's very good story and very funny!

  • cool! liked it so much that i laughed like nuts!!!

  • Lol, Ben was always my favorite in the Signing Naturally series. This vid brought back a lot of good memories when I was a new ASL student. Man that seems like forever ago... Great curriculum and great vid! Thanks for posting!!!

  • Could you explain it for me? I enjoy watching Ben and it seems fun but he goes so fast that I am not sure what the story is about. Thank you!

  • cool!!!!!!! if only i could understand...

  • hahahaha that was a funny story

  • love it all. great how it turns out to be a bomb :D i made up my own story

  • ben behan is such a beast, he is an amazing story teller... who could make a story about a ball interesting? and the part where they all fall through the doors, hilarious!

  • can some on plz respond to me and tell me wat the story was about?

  • It's gotta be a Road Runner cartoon he's signing?

  • Although I am not deaf, I think that this is a real gr8 idea to make videos for you guys... you should have started to get bored of all those music videos ... ;^)

  • Good Stuff!!

  • Well, if you promise not to make any questions about it, yes, I saw the video and It÷s funny....... ha......

Please don't make any questions on what it is about... ok?

    Peace and love!!!

  • we watched this in our asl class and had to recreate it. every one of us had to individually sign this to our teacher. i love the fat woman who skids around corners.

  • sorry but i dont get what this is explain me pls

  • excuse my ignorance but i have to express myself: W T F????????????

  • OK mickey - why not ask the person who posted this video to explain what is going on here ? Might be a thought rather than being rude and sounding like an idiot.

  • I'm pretty sure he's telling a story (about a ball I guess) in sign language. ASL = American Sign Language.

  • its ok i would think the same thing if i didn't know asl :p

  • Dude, they're jokes told in sign language for deaf people. Get over it.

  • "Signing Naturally!" ^_^

  • i luv it********

  • I remember this story somewhere, it's a good one. =]

Good on Youtube to make people more deaf aware. =)

  • i need a translationnnn

  • wtf

  • Man, kapierts doch dass is ne geschichte in hörgeschädigtensprache, und nur weil wir sie nicht verstehen muss sie doch nicht unbedingt schlecht sein!!!

  • is this sign language?

  • ASL=American Sign Language. yes, this is sign language.

  • Why is this featured?? This is just a stupid video from second semester "Signing Naturally."

  • hmm seems like someone turned all the sound off youtubes front page videos...such a shame

  • You dummy, YouTube featured videos of the deaf. It's supposed to have no sound.

  • Ohhhhhhh, I get it. That's quite a dirty joke.

  • Ben Bahan is the best story teller ever. Wish I could meet him!! Easy on the eyes too!! Thanks Ben. I am taking sign and I love watching you on the dvd's that come with the study books.

  • Hey! I have a few tag suggestions:
