But with those other show I only ever watched their episodes once, maybe twice, and then forgot about them soon afterwards.

But with Digimon Tamers, it was the one show among all of them that kept me coming back.

The realistic characters, the darker story, the clever writing. This show is my standard on how to do children's anime right.

@TheShadowOfHikari Pokemon (the games) and digimon (the show) (which are each series respective best quality) aren't that different. Yeah pokemon has the same formula, but so does digimon. Now sometimes that's bad (digimon ssn 4, 5, and to an extent season 2) and pokemon games like Daimond/Pearl, and (IMO) Firered and Leafgreen) but can be very good with a few minor tweaks, hence season 3 of digimon pokemon crystal and pokemon black and white.
