  • its very well played. a few split notes there but well done. i know how it feels to play a solo infront of everyone at a contest

  • is the one on the music room site in bass clef?

  • thats was really good

  • good job, mate!! really realy good!

what is this plate at the wall behind you? no recorders?? :-) haha

  • Would you recomend this to a 9th grader? Freshmen in Huigh school and I really like this song. And I want to play it for my solo.

  • Love it! Can I ask where you got the music? I'm looking for contest music for this coming school year, any recomendations?

  • @JoceyRose If you want the sheet music search google for "Grandfather's Clock euphonium sheet music." I think the musicroom has the sheet music for it

  • Ahhh, I play the Besson Prestige :)) its beautiful :) it has a trigger, which is quite nice! I also play with the 4AL mouthpiece, there actually trombone mouthpieces but ay'well :L

  • what euphoninum do you play?

  • @zlim751 York Eminence with a denis wick 4AL mouthpiece.

  • lol. sign in the back. "NO RECORDERS"

  • wat note was the high note at 2:15

  • @mattstephens1000 That is a high C. Two lines above the stave.

  • @ConnorEllison i can only play up to high Bb, so can you help me on telling me how to get up to that high C??

  • @mattstephens1000 mattstephens1000different things work for different people. For me the key was playing lip slurs each day. everyday when you do the lipslurs play them slowly and as quiet as you can, using just ur lips to change the notes, keep the airflow as constant as you can. Start in a comfortable range with the slurs and expand them higher and higher each week always remembering to use ur lips NOT pushing using air.

  • @ConnorEllison If this is done correctly you will find instant results. basicly this exercise works to reduce the amount of pressure on the mouthpeice and should help with your playing stamina. When you are using your lips effectively you should be able to reach high notes with ease. I made this recording after using this technique for about a month.

  • @ConnorEllison Now i have been doing them for a year or so and now i have no problems reaching high E and F. Stick with it and i see no reason why you can't be doing the same within the next year. Good luck and hope this helps.

  • @ConnorEllison what was the tempo when you were doing the tounging triplets, and could you slur them?

  • @mattstephens1000 I played it at about 120 crotchets per minute but you could play it slower than that if the tounging is a bit fast. I don't think that movement would work if it was slured.....tounging means that you get better clarity and tone with each note.

  • @ConnorEllison that was actually a high Bb, four ledger lines above the bass clef staff. but if you were talking treble clef, you were correct.

  • this is what i play

  • Do u think this will be a good piece to play 4 my high school solo?

  • do u think this will be a good piece to play for my high school solo???

  • @mattstephens1000 yeah its a great peice for that sort of thing.

  • Hi! A very good performance, you play amazingly well!

I'm thinking of playing this piece in my local band in Norway, and was wondering if you've got the sheetmusic digitally, or in any way was able to send me the sheetmusic for this solo piece =)

  • @TorgeirFjelldal If you want the sheet music search google for "Grandfather's Clock euphonium sheet music." I think the musicroom website has the sheet music for it.

  • @mattstephens1000 If you want the sheet music search google for "Grandfather's Clock euphonium sheet music." I think the musicroom has the sheet music for it.

  • @ConnorEllison can u get it anywhere for free

  • @mattstephens1000 dont think its possible to get for free. it would be worth paying a bit of money for the sheet music to this.

  • OMG! You sound so awesome Connor! I'm playing that solo this year for Nats on my Bari.
