The design is how people shop now, all malls are build out doors and in box style, because that's how it is now. There called Smart Centres, the signs that are orange and white with peguins in them. That's how u know theres goning to be one built. The last in door mall that was build was 3 years ago In Vahaun ON.
I know all this because some of my buddys are working on project around the region. Ask me anything. Wal marts going into a new spot soon, the one at eastgate is going bye bye soon.
It's based on the income of the people in the area. Since it's a low income area, they make it for people who can afford it.
Going in the lot are: Shoppers Drug Mart, Sears Home Store, All the Major banks and a food court, The Barn is leaving but The Great Canaidan Supersote is coming in it's place, they have No frills prices with a Fortinos look, same company.
Best buy won't be there because East Hamilton Radio when to court to prevent it.
Zellers, payless,la senzena, it's all A Smart Centre
It makes me sad that they're tearing the mall down. What will seniors think when they have to walk half a mile to another store in the freezing cold? My mom disproves it because she has a lung problem, and she can't walk far.
What stores are going in there after the re- build anyway? I hope at least Ikea, and some other good stores that are not around here. I'm sure the area will boom once the mall is in. But, inflation will be a killer. :( We already pay enough taxes as it is.
