Pretty neat, though I don't judge as I don't know the material so don't flame me, but, why is it so hard to create bipedal robots?

Not sure about materials either, but balance seems to be the main problem, especially with robot designs in anime and movies that are often too top heavy to realistically function.

The center of gravity is above most of the points of movement. Meaning a good chunk of the mass isn't always located at the exact same point relative to the legs, so bipedal mechanisms are inherently unbalanced. That's not as huge a disadvantage as it sounds, mind you. Once you compensated for the instability the ability of a bipedal platform to maneuverer is much, much higher than a lot of other platforms.
