Has ANYONE have any idea how the hell did Van Rompuy "Loopy" and Barrosso get into power - I don't remember ticking any bloody boxes on some sheet of paper for these idiots. Did they accept my used toilet paper as voting papers?
@Teranex Who wants to be in the eu? Arrogant socialists with out of date ideas wanting to enforce world government down people's throats who think in cliches and stereotype people who disagree with their world view perhaps??????
@ukipwebmaster " Arrogant socialists with out of date ideas"-What out of date ideas? The nation state is an out of date idea.
"Arrogant socialists"-I'm not socialist, i support low taxes and less social services. But i also support the EU. UK is not the nation it was 100 years ago when it ruled over 25% of earth surface. So you have 2 choices either become a puppet state of America or an equal partner in the EU. And the leading EU party (EPP), is a conservative party and not socialist one.
@Teranex I'm really glad that I've drawn the truth out of a mod-con! (Modern day 'conservative'). You say you are not a socialist yet support the socialist construct that is the EU. You think nation states are 'out of date' yet support an even bigger nation state that is the EU. We have as many choices as we want providing that we are independent. And the other choice not in your list is to be independent once again.
@ukipwebmaster "I can't argue against stupidity"-You didn't even argument that statement, which means you don't really have a good argument with which you could counter my argument. But hey thats what happens when you have a party which all that it does is to offer populist policies which dont serve the interests of the people in the long run.
@Teranex The USA at one time had 50 States. Now it is 1 big State. It all started with the Federal Gov'ts main purpose to protect the several states as described in the US Constitution. With the slow destruction of that important document. The Feds have generated a very powerful centralised entity. The States fight each to get $ back the Feds took from the citizens of the states thereof. From what I can see.The EU's ultimate goal is to become a one nation state. That is just my educated opinion.
@ukipwebmaster The ultimate goal of the Globalist is to have several large Nation States rather than having hundreds of Countries to try and deal with. Easier to control a few than many.I live in the USA.The Fed gov can't stand having to deal w/ 50 StatesNor does the States like dealing with the Feds. We have a saying here. The States know how the Federal Gov runs. The Fed has no idea how the States run. It is an FN mess here. Many like myself are on the cusp of Revolution. Hopefully peaceful.
@ukipwebmaster Texas talked about seceding from the Union a year or so ago. I urged my State Legislature 3 yrs ago to start a dialogue with other State legislatures regarding trying to put the Federal Gov back into its place. If that doesn't work. For those States to secede. You should have seen the look on my State Rep's face.I think his jaw hit the ground. At about the same time. Shortly thereafter. A Tea Party movement started to take hold. People started to wake up. I now know I wasn't crazy.
@Teranex; I feel you have been hung by your own petard.
Are you suggesting that people with anti EU views are either a Nationalist or Ignorant? If so you are as your comments suggest from the same non-democratic and repressive mould as the free loading useless bunch who everyday take away more of our freedom. Bring on the Revolution!
Europol (EU cops granted immunity from criminal prosecution).
Germanys LEADING EXPERT ON THE LISBON TREATY is Professor Schachtschneider of Nurenberg University :
Without an Irish No, all people in Europe face exploitation, war and injustice. The Irish have the opportunity to save human dignity in Europe. (Irish Times)
And such a rubbish gets 4 1/2 stars. In the ratings. First the topic doesn't fit to that. I expect some question about countries, if they want to be in the EU or not. Second is that already the first answers are too hard to have an understandable chance to give the right answer for such an early question.
EU will prevail, and there's nothing you nationalistic ultra-conservative islanders can do about it. Turkey will join the EU; then the rest of the East Bloc and then the EU will be transformed into a Federal Europe.
labour has sold our souls to the EU devil...doubt we can go back as the franco-German Bullies will be on our tale taking ever liberty and power of us all and the government to pull out.
Brilliant ending. :D Polish people also haven't been given a chance to say yes or no but if there had been a referendum what would it have changed? People don't know what this document contains, some say it's just a treaty, others say it's a consitution. Barroso and his 'goodfellas' did a lot to impose their will upon us without even making their goals clear.
People don`t be so negative. The European Union gives enormous benefits as well. Thanks to European Cooperation on this level we now have projects like the Airbus A380/The Large Hadron Collider/ITER Fusion Reactor/Galileo Navigation/European Space Agency/The Euro ; meaning easy travel and a MUCH more stable economy. Do you understand; The British pound has been plummeting in the last year. The economy of Iceland was shambled. All because of there "greatness" of independence. Cooperation is Key.
Get your facts right. Ireland is in the Eurozone, the Airbus is in trouble and if the pound hadn't come down we'd have far greater problems than we already have.
Claiming a weak currency is a good thing is a nice fairy tale. The Americans claimed the same when there dollar was going down. Just look at them now.
ps...I said Iceland not Ireland. The economy of Iceland has been falling apart in the past months because of their independence. Now suddenly they are interesting in joining. Cooperation in a globalized world is extremely important. But I agree that the European Commission needs to take a clue and change the way it does business. They want way to much.
The Lisbon Treaty is in violation of the United Nations International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and therefore ilegal :
Article 1 : All peoples have the right to self-determination. By virtue of that right they freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic and cultural development.
The European Arrest Warrant is also in violation of the same Covernant ( Article 9).
Restore justice and true democracy, vote EU-sceptic in June's European elections.
dutch ....you adress us as the people ...many times the PEOPLE have spoken when asked in a referendum ....We do not want a EUROPEAN UNION ...which is much like the old Soviet Union. When they do have the guts to ask the 'People' more often than not they say NO. The European union's accounts have not been ratified for 12 years! there are so corrupt ...and you want me to not be so negative !!. This is not a democratic union ...it is corrupt, and it will be found out soon enough.
A stronger currency doesn't necessarily mean a better currency, also, with so many countries using the euro, its interest rates aren't based on the prosperity of any single nation but of 15. This means it is determined by how well the average member state is doing economically. Italy and Greece are facing problems because their interest rates are too high due to determination by foreigners, what they really need is devaluation of their currency, but they can't do that while in the euro.
On behalf of all European TAXPAYERS,...I hope all European Union employees had a wonderful Christmas (at our expense), as you do each year.
We also hope that the 45 MILLION Euros travel expenses paid to you technocrats ( by the un-elected Council of Europe)...was enough ! Don´t bother with reciepts and if you need more next year, don't hesitate NOT to ask us. !
Happy undemocratic New Year !
VOTE in the June European elections for anyone willing to fight EU corruption.

If only they'd do something for workers rights :
Workers have the right to strike in the EU but only on paper because If a strike restricts movement of
capital, goods, persons & services ( the whole point of strike action ! ).....then it is against the law !

Democracy anyone ?
« The EU can lawfully suppress political criticism of its institutions and of leading public figures «( European Court of Justice ruling 2001 ).
The European Charter of Fundamental Rights (art.2,passage 2) states that lethal force can be used to quell « rioting, civil upheaval & during war ».
The same Charter does NOT mention the right of EU citizens to VOTE.
Perhaps they forgot.
Let's remind them in the European elections.
