  • WAW! Thanks a lot for share the video!

  • @pipeiroba

    No worries mate.

  • Not sure how I missed this video! Nice sheath!

  • @ArtisanTony

Its the upload system that YT now uses....if you're subscribed to alot of people who upload videos...they ar listed on the page as they are uploaded. S sometimes you need to scroll down the page to find new stuff. Mine was probably bumped down the list as new stuff was loaded on your page.

  • @RDPproject I haven't missed the bushcraft challenge video, right? I still plan plan on supplying the Mora so if you do a video and I don't se it for a few days send me a PM :)

  • @ArtisanTony

It will be uploaded on the 20th of this month (prob the 19th for you as you're a day behind us)

  • Def one of the best sheath tutorials I've seen. Great Job!

  • @cumah1

Thanks for the positive comment mate.

    I appreciate it alot.

    Rob.

  • Fantastic job and great two part tutorial. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your necker! :)

  • @ErlefromVa

    Thank you Erle.

But its not mine. It belongs to another youtuber.

His YT name is ~ goldenscales ~ He should be getting his knife in the post at the end of this week I hope. Keep an eye on him to see what his reaction will be once he has it in his hands again.

    Stay safe mate.

    Rob.

  • @RDPproject Will check his channel out. Fine workmanship all the same, good Day Mate! :)

  • Damn good Work!! This is coming from a Knife Maker and sheath maker also!!

Keep up the good work!! I was taught some things on this video....Thanks for Posting!!

    Frank

  • @Frankallen12

    Thank you Frank.

You should do some video of your own on leatherwork and knifemaking.

    Rob.

  • Beautiful job my friend - and the leather toggle is amazing! Need to try this out on my next sheath :-)

thx for this great great 2 parts of making your neck sheath and have a great time out there with your new companion!

    Cheers and ATB from Austria

    Mike

  • @survivalmike

My new companion?...If you mean the knife...it belongs to another youtuber.

His YT name is ~ goldenscales ~

Vielen danke mein fruend. Im glad you like it.

  • @RDPproject I thought it is made for you :-))

Thats why I wrote companion.....However Great job and a beautiful tutorial!

    thx buddy

    cheers Mike

  • @survivalmike

Yes I understand...but no it is not my new companion. I have alot of other companions in a box in my bexroom. Small ones and some big ones aswell. :-)

  • @RDPproject Thats the right way my friend :-)

a box full of knives is just the right thing to have *ggg*

    Have a great day

    cheers

    Mike

  • Rob, you have done a great job again a handsome piece of craftsmanship. Thanks friend

  • @forestkobold

Dank u mijn vriend. Im glad you like it.

  • Very impressed with your leather work, mate, very! I picked up a couple tips as well from this video.

  • @JesusFuckingChrist84

Thats good to hear JFC....that is the main reason I do this on video. So people can learn the old trade skills and hopefully keep them alove

  • @RDPproject

Either way, thank you for the entertainment. One showing their skills in video is enough to make it worth it for me. I like leather craft videos when they are related to knives, just no one does them. Kids these days and their kydex. :D

  • @JesusFuckingChrist84

Just read both your replies. I was thinking about making another sheath (to keep me occupised on quiet days) So I will give an explenation of the various steps.

But yes...air drying is fine...just dont move it as when its wet its very plaiable and it could lose it shape and set in that misformed shape...so youd have to start over with the moulding

  • @RDPproject

That is good to know, I will absolutely keep that in mind.

But yes, I've got an understanding of pretty much everything, the stitching is the only other thing that I may have difficulty with, I can probably consult the complete blade smith, but if you can over stitching as well I'd love that! It is the only part I might have trouble with.

  • @JesusFuckingChrist84

The figure 8 stitch is actually very easy. I dont use the over stitch at all as its just the one thread and if its cut/broken the whole thing can unravel easily. With the fig 8 if one thread is broken or cut...there is the second as a back up (even tho its technically one thread, it works as two)

  • @RDPproject

It looks very simple, but before I try it I just want to be absolutely sure of what I am doing.

Though the leather craft projects I have in mind are fairly simple.

  • @JesusFuckingChrist84

My next little Leather project is currently in the oven baking. I gotta get back to it in the next few minutes.

  • @RDPproject

To say that I cannot wait would be an understatement. :)

  • @RDPproject

Actually, I forgot the question I wanted to ask you yesterday, but remembered it ust now, fantastic!

I was wondering, if I were to, after molding the knife, leave it out to air dry as opposed to putting it in the oven (If I were concerned with doing multiple sheaths at once), would it still retain its shape do you think?

I was going to have a go at making some stitched sheaths for some custom knives I've been working on, I am a leathercraft nooby, however.

  • Great work i must say. mother nature have so much to offer.

  • @tigerkurre

    Tak :-)

  • Always great workmanship/craftsmanship Rob!!

  • @jolietjake1970

    Thank you JJ :-)

  • Fantastic Rob, ...so cool, looks great! All the best, Sepp

  • @Waldhandwerk

    Thank you Sepp

  • uber nice job...wow...amazing

  • @sousaville I agree!

  • a job well done

  • Amazing Rob....You the man...

  • @bushcraftbartons

Thx Mike. Hope your all doing well over there in K'nuk land.

  • Great idea can also use ranger bands to make it adjustable as well and can make a small little knife kit like adding a small fire steel button compass and maybe small tinder

  • @nightwalker2830

Yeah...but he didnt want any extras on it at all.

So I made it as simple as I could.

  • Once again the final product is truly amazing.

  • @markasomerville

    Thx Mark

  • I am not over the moon with the knife but sheath is top shelf. It looks fantastic.

  • @EconoChallenge

    Thank you mate.

  • Looks Great mate, Wonderful leather work.

  • @chillymywilly

    Thx mate.

  • beautiful work sir! id love one ( not a neck knife) for my BK2!

  • @hobo31009

    Thanks mate.

I will send you my video of the sheath that I made for my BUSHMASTER knife. It would work well for the BK2 I think.

    Rob.

  • Wow what a excellent Job.Absolutly great.I think i will try this out and build a leather sheath for my Muela Bison knife.

    Thanxxx 4 showing

    Greetings Roberto

  • @BushBerti

    Danke Roberto.

There is an easier way to make the holes for the stitching. Use a drill with very small drill bits. Just keep your fingers clear on the back... :-)

  • Take it from me, the customer likes it. It was a pleasure watching you work, Rob. You have the heart of a poet, and I really do appreciate the kindness and effort that went into creating such a wonderful creation. Thank you. (Big man hug! Lol!)

  • @goldenscales

    Hi mate.

I hope your gonna do (even tho you know what your getting) an unboxing video for us all to see. It should be there by the end of the week I reccon. I reused the same post pack it came in as it was the perfect size. But I did forget to send back with it the nylon sheath. Sorry. I was also gonna add some fine grit sand paper so you can sharpen the knife as I also convexed the edge for you. Now its much sharper and easier to use.

    PM coming your way.

  • wow awesome work! not only is it a great looking sheath this is by far the best sheath making video I have ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing this!!

  • @rbejder

Hej min danske ven og tak.

I lived in DK for 9 years when I was young. I lived in Tistrup, just north of Esbjerg.

I cnat remember much of my danish... :-)

  • Great, put those to films in favorites.

    regards

    SA

    R.

  • Thanks for showing,..

    Incredibly nice work !

  • @cukiercrono

    Viel dank

  • u do good leather work....

  • @melbrenton1

    Thx mel

  • A commitment/statement I will like to have with my knife. You take your time making the knife, maintaining it, all laborious processes. So is the sheath, and.. rocksolid. That is what makes a knife so special.

    P

  • @Rasenkrieger

    Thanks mate.

    I totally agree with you.

  • Wunderful work..the sheath looks soooo good..thumbs up ;-)

  • @StyrianPower

    Thanks mate.

I hope the customer likes it.

  • Great work, Rob!

    The leather sheath, looks fantastic.

If with you also ran this music, then this was a very relaxed work. :o)

Thanks for showing, it was very interesting.

In the next time, I want to build also a leather sheath.

    All the best to you.

    Greetings Tito

  • @Naturliebe

    Danke Tito

  • That's a lovely looking sheath and a great demonstration on how you made it.

    Thanks

    Dave

  • @davidfriars

    Thanks Dave

  • Very nice work. Your video made it look like a zen thing for you to do.

  • @coachace123

I do like making things out of leather

  • Very nice design

  • @knivesandstuff

    Thx K.

  • Mate nice work but have you thought of useing a speedy stitcher they make life so much easier but once again nice work

  • @Mrlizz67

    Thanks mate.

There is alot of equipment that i wanna get. But that takes something that I dont have...money

  • @RDPproject Hey Rob I got ome from Pakers Leather a while ago for around $20

  • Great work! You really have a talent for leather. Also music artists and record companies take note I am buying the song that is in this video only because I heard it here, otherwise I probably would have never heard it. That's right Youtube just put money in your pocket. Learn to use it to help yourselves instead of suing your customers!

  • nice work ~~~

  • @as6234

    Thank you mate

  • nice work, looks great

That music nearly put me to sleep, had to mute so i could stay awake to watch lol

  • @cam131313cam

No matter what bloody music I use someone complains about it...fighting a loosing battle with that issue... :-(

Thx for the positive side of the comment tho Cam. :-)

  • @RDPproject Well i hated it but in a good way, it was so soothing it made me tired

  • @RDPproject who cares long as you like the music either they will watch your vids or not my friend....

  • that ´s what the master of the local swim hall told me, when I asked why there is no music. Don´t care so much what everybody else thinks, don´t take it serious. I did wonder why some people only comment to say: great work, buddy.

Isn´t that too generic? You are doing very well! I like that sheath, the stamped name on the back is stunning (unexpected), and the solid handmade solution overall...just great.

  • good work!

  • @johncajunmanbrown

    Thx John.

    Rob
