@odinata There are a lot of definitions for "spontaneous", this one's pretty good: "Self generated; happening without any apparent external cause". A cat's hunting instincts are always self-generated, but they usually happen with some apparent external cause to trigger them. Occasionally though, the external cause is not apparent.
A better example of a spontaneous thing that shows evidence of design is spontaneous mutation rates in bacteria. Some mutate at very predictable rates.
@odinata the entire video is evidence of God's design. Cat's hunting instincts are evidence of God's design. Sorry you cannot see that now, but perhaps someday?
@Sasabonsam Not intended to be a religious peptalk as much as it was a reminder of where instincts come from. Also the video is about "hunting instincts", and not hunting, as I don't think it is appropriate to encourage hunting of wildlife by domestic cats. However, if I ever have a barn with a rat infestation problem, then I just may have to make an "awesome cat hunting video".
Intincts are evidence of a designer, correct. Except the designer's are Mother Nature and time and the process is natural selection. I have faith that one day the human species will see all the problems they have caused with religion one day, but I have been wrong before.
Actually, humans cause problems, not religion. The Bible says that one day every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11). This will be a great day, because it will be a day when humans have realized the problems they caused through religion, as well as the problems they solved through religion. Possibly the biggest religious problem of today is evolutionism, and the often dogmatic, misguided, and arrogant proclamations of its followers.
Instincts in cats (or humans) are evidence that they were designed by God. Unfortunately, I cannot prove that they were, but I do have faith to believe that God's Word is true and that he created life.
Hunt instincts are in DNA??

@Kakashisd Good question! I am sure some of it is a learned behavior, but I would speculate that it is mostly because of genetics.

How can an instinct be spontaneous? Do you know the definitions of those two words?

"Spontaneous things could be examples of design..."
If something is designed, how exactly would you define it as "spontaneous"?
Perhaps you can provide an example?
odinata 1 year ago
@odinata a cat's hunting instincts are an example
ichthmus153 1 year ago
Is there anything that is NOT an example of design, in your opinion?
odinata 1 year ago
@odinata abstract art
ichthmus153 1 year ago
@ichthmus153
so "abstract art" spontaneously created itself?
odinata 1 year ago
@odinata Spontaneous thngs could be examples of design, or not.

Interesting that you decide not to give any evidence for design in this video.

>Expected kitty hunting
>Received religion peptalk.
WHY?

i agree with you ! i hope soon they will realize as well

@therookie231 Well said my fellow brother in reason and logic.
It's amazing the things superstitionists try to ascribe as supernatural.
It's that bloody Kool Aid and its 'circumnavigating the intellect' action that does it.
Rockster969 1 year ago
@Rockster969 No circumnavigating the intellect going on here, just giving credit to the Creator of intellect, and instincts.

So, your saying that because cats have instincts god created them? Humans have natural instincts too, do you think god created us also??
