the tegra chip in the zune is a million times faster and more graphically intense the the ipod even thought of reaching. The tegra chip will be able to run games like quake 3 at handheld resolutions with full anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering at 40Fps I would love to see the Ipod touch do that

Actually. I thought the same thing, but now there are tons of apps for zune, and ALL of them are free. They are even making a REAL pokemon game, new story and pokemon, just for the Zune HD, It's basically Like PC and Mac. Im a PC kid so I like the zune better,

I wouldn't mind getting a ZuneHD on top of my iPod Touch because it has the cool Song sharing capibilty with other Zunes and the HD radio, not to mention the HD video output. It would be nice to have. But then again I want almost everything. Haha :)

no no the video isn't sponsored by Kia. The apps are sponsored by Kia, which is what makes them free. basically, Kia is buying your apps. Kia agrees with Microsoft to pay for all the apps and for microsoft to put Kia ads on them. Its marketing. It allows microsoft to give their apps out for free, and gives kia publicity in return. So if you bought a zune HD youd have to watch em too.

Do hate that Zune isn't still shipping to Europe. Just can't find the reason for it.. oh well at least there's still ebay.

The ZuneHD might have caught on. But those VERY long app load times seems artificiallly created to give it a chance to show you an advertisement.

That right there is what will kill the ZuneHD. After the initial buzz to buy the new thing wears off people are going to get real annoyed by those ads real fast.

Ok putting the annoying ads aside, the main problem with this device is that it's slow and I mean really slow. If I press on my calculator app or weather app on my iphone gs it loads almost instantly (less than half a second). Looking at this video, it took 10 secs to open the basic calculator and the same for the basic weather App. That is going to be a non starter for most people.

alot of newb saying tegra chip sucks... it doesnt its a multicore and iphone has a single core, the reason everything loads slow is so that its not loading in game while your playing and so that it doesnt lag, my friend has a 3rd gen itouch and it sucks for lag, it lags half the time he touches it, also the fingerprints can be avoided with a screen protector or some kind of spray, otherwise just wipe it off on your shirt becuase the screen wont scratch very well...

actually tegra is much much faster then the cortex cpu and the MUCH MORE powerful then then PowerMBX lol, you cant even compare them because the tegra also has a built in GPU just as good as most netbooks and cheaper laptops. None of these games are very taxing obviously and these are very much just free trials, you really cant compare the ipod that has over 3 years worth of apps to a ZUNE HD which came out several days ago & from all reviews I've seen the zune has a much smoother touch UI.

With the Tegra, perhaps a mainstream FPS could make it on to the HD in a year's time?

If microsoft can make the HD shine as a video game handheld, the comparisons to the iPod Touch will stop. It would be closer to a Portable Xbox than an iPod Touch at that point.
