I didn't see an egress window. Why would you go through all that and not even put a safe escape route. Not to mention the ventilation it would provide.
Good observation! All proper permits, inspections, etc. were obtained. Usually if you do not have a bedroom, you are not required to have an egress window installed. There also may be a hatchway door in the basement that you do not see in the video. We believe windows should remain closed in a basement as to not let in unconditioned, humid air. There are windows that open in case the homeowner does need to ventilate for another reason.

A basement finishing, as it stands with the current housing market, will raise the value of the home but a nationwide average of 75% or so, although that number varies drastically depending on the part of the country where the job is being done. I've found this system superior to Owens Corning Basement System, but I have visited their showroom, and was wondering where is the closest showroom Basement Systems has nearest to Queens, N.Y.C. Also, what is the average value added to my home in this area, with a 800 sq ft basement?
Don't you mean the value of the home would increase by about 75% of the value of the basement finish? I know in our market, for example a typical $200,000 home would not increase by $150,000 (200*.75), but roughly $20,000, or approximately 75% of the cost of finishing the basement.
You must be right. My primary is worth about $375,000 about now after deppreciating from 430K. Total Basement Finishing came over with an estimate of about 35K. I asked the appraiser about how much more could a finished basement fetch, and he said about 15K more, but he'd have to see the quality of the work...as it can be a little more or less.
I've looked into geothermal heating & cooling, as I don't want gas lines in the basement, or a flu chimney anymore. Then I'll get the basement done.

It's nice, but you should have finished the walls. Those strips between the panels makes it look like a mobile home interior.
