then you havent heard many.... kentucky, texas and california lines are bigger, play more challenging books and way cleaner... they might even rival a few dci lines. This line here is average at best... dirt city.

Yeah now that I review this I realize that I was exaggerating quite a bit. They are fairly decent, but when I said that I didn't really know what I was talking about. I wasn't on my highschools drumline at the time. Now that I am I know a little more. I wish my highschool was as clean as that though. lol But it is understandable we are a completely new line.

i disagree partially. this particular group isnt very clean, but in terms of marching bands, ohio is one of the best states (high school level).

and youre not entirely with it if you think high school bands rival DCI bands. im guessing fewer than 5 high school bands would even come close to the level a drum corps performs at

And please don't be foolish. Any group with musical instruments is a band. I follow the "Corps" just as much as anyone else, and actually have a few favorites (Crown, Cadets, and Phantom).

@timbohoagie Oh no, I agree it wasn't their finest, but it still wasn't a terrible run, much better than most high school kids can even imagine.

And as for the statement about bands, I have to disagree, I think a more correct word would have been ensemble. Is a group of violinist, cellists, and bassists a band? By your definition they would be but a more appropriate term would be orchestra.

@littlesnareboy I think I'm a little harsher than most when it comes to performance. When I was in high school (in Central Ohio, nonetheless), it was either go perfect or go home.

I was just using it generically, probably to fit the sentence structure better (it was 11 months ago, I'm not sure of my intentions). However, I much prefer the word "ensemble" over the word "band" any day. I will agree with you there.

I go to Valley View, not to far from Centerville. Our percussion is playing street beat, but sounds different then that. Our percussion is pretty good. Our instructor is big into like drum line and stuff. He is amazing. Thats why his name is Mr. Miracle. Thats his real name.

But you guys are still good. I dont know if we play Centerville this year. I dont think we have yet.
