sounds great ! I just purchased a similar guitar with the purple finish. I noticed that the nut is much higher on the bass side that on the other side, is this stock or do you think mine was modded ? Usually the nut slots are cut to the right height
@jem7772 Thanks. Just looked at the nut on mine and it's the same as you describe...I never noticed it before!. The string height is very low on mine...too low in fact and I'm taking it in to be adjusted. The G string is choking slightly on the fretboard on the 1st - 3rd frets
@wahwah666 Hey btw. What do you think about the steve morse guitar? Im thinking of buying it, or a steve vai signature. I emailed music man and asked the the thickness of the neck and they replied that the steve morse model had 20 mm at the first fret. isnt that kinda much? Do you think the neck feels big/fat? Im not sure i like the fat neck on my gibson. Once again, great performance :)
At my age and with my budget i kinda need 1 guitar for everything and what i dont like about the Gibson is that: Its very easy to break, it cant produce a single coil sound and its a shorter scale (which makes it harder to play further up the neck, right?) and im pretty positive that the morse model is "more" playable.
Btw you havent tried the ibanez steve vai model? Im kinda choosing between that one and the Steve morse.
@hellsSG The Musicman range is quite small but the single coil in this, the Albert Lee sig and some of the Axis Supersport's make them very attractive. A lot of couhtry players would rather use something like a silhouette to get that country single-coil 'spank' than a Fender. Try a few models out. I also have an EVH which is very rare.
this is amazing. so few guitar players still play with the same emotion you play with here. i've been looking at gettin one of the Y2d's and now there is no question that i want one haha. excellent video/tone/playing. rock on.
Thanks Steve. The Y2D has the best tone and different settings than any guitar I've owned (and that's about 70 of them over the years). There's a tone comparison video with a Levinson Blade thru a Peavey Classic 30 somewhere in my stuff. Take a look and you'll hear more tones and stuff. Cheers. :)
Great playing man!!

@hellsSG The necks are tiny mate. Smallest necks I've played and REALLY playable. They are built like Rolls Royces.

@wahwah666 Ok. but they arent too narrow to play bar chords and stuff like that?
hellsSG 1 year ago
@hellsSG You might find three fingers doing an Amaj a bit tight but barre chords are fine. They are small necks but very comfortable.
