  • What a beautiful song and music which straight gets into ones heart and the body feels getting into the beat for a nice dance.

Good old days of 50 n 60s.Shall always miss those times.

  • Love this one, it's perfect for a Square Tango

  • Good bitta Al Bowlly. Yesh.

  • wonderful ,such sultry tones ,Great !

  • Really wonderful........... Terry XXX

  • It is amazing to note that present day western music forms have changed dramatically within a very short period of time(in-terms of history). The music of western society has not only degenerated rapidly in recent times, but looks like excrement in front of the pre 1960 era music from the western world.the degeneration of western society possibly began from the 1960's.

  • @bigmanio, Thank you so much for uploading this great music of the past. I keep hearing this on radios as I walk by in the streets of Manila.

  • There's a beautiful tango version of this too by Osvaldo Fresedo ... I love the big band era and all the beautiful danceable music!

  • @salthepal The best time ever- even with a war blowing every thing to pieces Al was killed in the London BLITZ

  • @salthepal The best time ever- even with a war blowing every thing to pieces Al was killed in the London BLITZ I remember him well

  • Spectacular!

  • What an intro They are proper instrumentalists

  • @candw87 Glad someone else appreciates the instrumentalists as I do! This makes 30 songs on my Al Bowlly playlist. Thanks to people like bigmanio, I've been able to create a music history channel of 550 playlists honoring over 300 great artists, like Al, and 111 lists cover every year since 1900 - it's a musical time machine! Added this to 1934's list as well.Hope you'll stop by! Chuck

  • Lovely oldie! I remember hearing this tune when I was very little. And it is only now that I knew the title. Thanks for this rare gem.

  • Very nice, thank you

  • I just found Al 1 year ago, he is up there with Bing and the rest, what a shame his untimely death, My mates laugh at me but what the hell i love him

  • WoW, those saxes at the start sound like Billy Vaughn! On my 400 public playlists of 1 - 2 hours, over 250 artists each have their own lists, and 120 more lists cover each year back to the 1880s, a trip back in time to any past year . . . . . . . .

  • @kenyakimbo Have you checked out Arthur Tracy (The Street Singer)?

  • But for Al's untimely death he would have been one of the all time greats

  • ohh capri...one of my favourite destinations :)

  • very nice video & song :)

  • I love how these old songs weren't afraid of long instrumental prologues!

They took their time. No hurry, no worry.

  • The best of the Big Band Era

  • @thechinadesk Great point.

  • Beautiful. What lovely music.

  • This is too good... thank you for sharing.

  • A great job.

You have exposed the Indian song...

Dil Dil se Mila ke dekho.

  • I keep hearing this song on XM Radio's "Savoy Express" and today I heard it played at Perry Mason's party in the 1935 movie "The Case of the Curious Bride" (Errol Flynn's debut - as a corpse!) So I'm glad to find it here on YouTube!

  • I wonder If Gracie was at home when this was shot as her Capri home and hotel are very visable. Nice vintage film thanks.

  • This is lovely! Thank you for posting.

  • Best Isle of Capri of them All...Tino Rossi one is beautiful too

  • Piano is Harry Jacobsen it's awesome like Bowlly's vocal. Probably my favourite record of all time.

  • Piano would be Harry Jacobson.

  • This bloke is brilliant. Evocative of a bygone era and the tunes are still worth listening to today

  • Ah" so lovely, I love the piano playing in this tune.

  • I think that some of this footage shows the home that the late Dame Gracie Fields owned in Capri- great footage, thanks for posting!
