Malcom X is one of the most fascinating people in American history. I read his autobiography in high school and was stunned to learn of the unique path he walked throughout his life. We could use Malcom today--a man of great insight, commitment, and compassion.
it says in the quran any human being born outside of islam who finds islam through theyre life is better then the most religious muslim in the eyes of allah
Racist HollyWoods favorite victims are always Asians...
Asian men are only good to play characters that is being killed by white boys in war or a martial artist who get beat by white boys.. Also a nerd who everyone make fun of.
Asian woman get the role of an exotic whore who just love and worship the white man.
With better than the white men, he meant actually the non-muslims, as in that time almost no white person was a Muslim. White people were bad to black people, that's why he says they are better than them, as it's bad judging someone because of his/her skin colour. The most Annoying part is that even skin colour isn't important, I still don't understand why they hated black people, because really I love them, they are beautiful like every kind of humanbeing. Peace from Morocco. Islam is the way!
Brother Malcolm is a great icon of Humanity. The true equality of all people, regardless of their skin color. THIS is what we need to understand! And we should take on his example and stand up for not only our people, but for all oppressed people worldwide. Because the true problem is oppression! Whether it be white people oppressing black people, or any other group of people oppressing another. This is the true message of Malcolm! And we will ALWAYS love him for that!!! Peace Be Unto You Mr. X!

@mustwinder, just because you were not part of the original problem it does not mean you do not or have not benefited from such actions. Furthermore, it would be very atrocious if we look at a problem like racism and say " oh well I didn't do it" and just walk away because then we are allowing it to exist. As for the election of obama just read his book he even states that whole things are better they are not good enough.
@mustwinder You're a rank apologist who cannot stand any perceived criticism of white America. What I'm talking about doesn't personally affect you so you say it doesn't exist. Obama changes nothing. I have a theory as to why he was elected: that's a different topic but I think it will worsen racism in America. You're incredibly naive. Down South, many Klansmen had black Mammies. I grew up with a guy who later joined the BNP. And no, looking at things realistically does not "hurt" me.
I had originally recorded this when it aired on PBS back in the 90's and virtually wore out the tape, it was so compelling and truthful. Have been trying to find this on DVD, no luck so far. Thanks for posting.

@MyRiseToHonor I completley agree with you brother.Although I am not a Afro American, I am Venezuelan,The Autobiography of Malcolm X should be read in EVERY high school in America. Not books like Lord of the flies and Old Man and the Sea.The Autobiography of Malcolm X is the only book I have ever read that has changed the way i think and the way I act. That is the book that shold be required to read.
andres65080, Venezuelan huh? Of what lineage are you? Truth be told, it doesn't matters nor detracts from my original position when it comes to you and your search for the truth my friend. You're right, Malcolm's Book should be required reading, and I'll expand that to all, but with emphasis on minorities first. His life destroys the possibility of self hate which is an issue with not only Afro Americans, but many other minority groups. By the way, I think South American History is powerful.
@andres65080 Because Malcolm X believed in EMPOWERMENT, because at the time none of them believed it. Hispanics believed it. Whites believed it. Anyone else believed it, but blacks. A low self-esteem harboring and Malcolm wanted to alteast reach a few, or maybe more to empower. The NOI just wanted to help THEIR cause, their members and Elijah, but not the PEOPLE. I"ve posted this on other YouTube Malcolm X videos, but it bears repeating: Malcolm was one of the most sane individuals to have ever walked this Earth. I am a white man saying this. Malcolm spoke the truth. His intelligence was vast and deep. He was -- and will continue to be -- an example for all humanity in our struggle to engage our highest instincts for decency, justice & dignity.
@bapyou It is good to hear a white man say things like this.I would like to move past black or white but the rest of the world proably never will be.I agree with you 100% may the Most High bless you and yours.
@bapyou I agree with U. I believe anti Malcolm X people can't see beyond the human rights/race issues of the time & comprehend the common sense & honesty in his message which applies to all mankind. History has exposed so much injustice in the struggle for dignity & we now understand how racism is used as a divisive method which keeps us constantly bickering over non-issues we solve. I'm not black either but IMO Malcolm X would be an American hero if he wasnt black
"Malcolm X would be an American hero if he wasn't black"
I personally don't understand how; since all America's heroes were theives, murderers and slavers/slave owners! How do you compare the life of Malcolm X to the life of George Washington (a known slave owner). How can you compare the peaceful protests of Africans in America to the violent and brutal bombings of Japan and Vietnam by the US government!
Thats sum of the stupidest bullshit i ever did here lol. First of all how can u compare 2days fuked mentality of black people instilled by the white man (Read Willy Lynch) to that in the days of slavery. Ur men wer savagely beating and raping both men and women. This isnt about light hearted physical attraction idiot
The white mans idea of hatred is very different from mine. The white man opperates on impulse of emotion plus irational action. Just becuase i understand hu the living devil is, doesnt mean everytime i see a white person some uncontrolable rage fills up inside me. I have understanding and control my friend, but i understand as a race, white people are an uncontrolable destructive force. Wat dus having white blood mean? Ur just higlighting ur dirty, raping slavemaster ancestors
resent the fact ur here? i cudnt giv 2 fuks but i aint about to play down wat ur race hav done and no this cannot b turned against any other race that whites and if so tell me which race has rivaled whites in evils committed? White people set a new precident in evil, u make the devil in the bible look lyk a boyscout. i'm saying a grave error was made in the creation of white people.
about the collective evil you have committed as a rac over centuries. And altho it is true that all races hav their devils, but i have not seen a civilisation or a tyrant yet that has come out from another race which rivals white people. 100 million people killed during slavery, Millions of native americans wiped out, Aztecs wiped out and much more. White ppl shudnt complain wen people hav extreme views of them, they shuld try and understand y
Fair enough but ther is a distinct higher amount of collective evil commited by the white race and ther is NO denying that. Also stop trying to distort shit, wen malcolm came bak from Mecca, maybe his view on white people wen as extreme as calling them the devil but he still strongly realisedthe common enemy of the black man... the white man. Its funny how white ppl try and play off this by dealing with individuality. NO1 is talkin about individual circumstances involving whites, we're talking
I read his autobiography 4 times between the ages of 12 and 15. But it didn't stop there.....I wanted to learn as much as I could so I could never be made to feel ashamed of who I am again. In a debate at school, I defended his teachings against another student who likened it to "black racism" which may have been true in the beginning but changed. This is why I have a lot of respect for him. He helped me embrace myself as a Black woman.
From 1991, I grew up in an all-white beach town. As a young girl, I can remember being ashamed of my skin because I was always known as "that black girl". I hate to admit this, but I began to wish that I wasn't black. Parents whose girls were worse than I branded me a "bad influence" without even taking the time to get to know me. I began learning about Malcolm X when I was 12. I wondered why my school didn't celebrate Black History Month as much as the inner city schools I'd been to.
Great Man - A real legend. He put his life on the line for the sake of his peoples freedom and Human rights. The influence Islam played in the struggle for freedom 1400 years ago and in the modern era is paramount and is what its all about - Peace and Justice for all mankind. Possibly the main reason they had to pull to the plug is because he was a great speaker and was a muslim. A shame as we lost the only real leader of the 21st century that truly stood for something great and Inspiring. RIP
mustwinder: If black people would have separated back then like we were supposed to, we would have been living a better life now. I don't know if things are really better for black people today than back then. We had unity and family structure and a basic oneness of mind back then. Eventhough we have more material things today, we have more broken homes, disunity, drug addicts and death today. Integrate with a devil, you become a devil.
Why don't you give it up, idiot? First you claim to know where I come from, then you attempt to insult my intelligence, now you try to put words in my mouth from your own shitty perspective. I reply to you only because I want this exchange seen by any honest person out there. You don't even see the irony in speech marks apparently. Spouting obvious bromides doesn't exonerate you in my eyes as an apologist who thinks that because he knows a few blacks he can dismiss the whole black experience
Times have changed? White people have killed and now control the land of peoples in Australia, United States, Canada, Hawaii and Afrika...and every next generation always gives the paltry excuse that the last generation didn't have anything to do with them...yet the genocide keeps marching on.
the racism is there to delude us from what we should be doing as people...this racism is passive but still imminent in our society, both in America and abroad...but the only thing that makes powerful is the beautiful minds gave us all...we shouldn't succumb to anyone or anything..and if this is a thing we shouldn't give in..our Fore Father's didn't..
malcolm was a great speaker. much better and more effective than elijah muhamad. malcolm was a brilliant man. he spoke the truth some people could not handle the truth ie elijah muhamad .
And your typically patronising rebuff is quite predictable. I'll remind you that the first thing you said was that you understood where I was coming from. You don't even know where I'm coming from, neither my background, my mental development nor my convictions. But it's interesting once again to note how when a black man complains about the treatment of his people some white "non-racist" has to stick his unsavoury oar in.
No, that's my point. You don't understand where I'm coming from because you can't. As a matter of fact your apologist-sounding comment is actually inappropriate in the context of mine which was a cry or expostulation for that justice the black diaspora never got.
I'm going be respectful do to the fact that I think you made an honest mistake. You must have gotten me confused with mustwinder or madmax8903 because of the "med" (not mad) being the first 3 letters of my user name and/or my comment being directly below his. If you go back to the page, you'll see that I wasn't involved in that exchange.
By the way I admired ALL the races that stood up against what was wrong for those times. But they should be over now and lets see if the new American president can get some better times going for us. And lets pray that God stops the dumbass that thinks he needs to pull the race card with MY new pres. ( who, like myself, has more than one race if we have to go there)
Come on AMERICA lets start playing the America card and stop telling every generation that they are oppressed by the white man or that you can't do things because of the black man and become a human race. Everyone in this world has to stuggle enough as it is just to survive without scarring the shit out of the next generation with a hundred year old screw up from ALL races.
I'm tired of people talking up the problems of all other races as soon as someone talks about the oppression of blacks in America and elsewhere. They talk about things being different now and basically to get over it. Forgive and forget. But their race wasn't uprooted, their culture and their very names cast into oblivion, enslaved, raped and murdered for centuries by law, and now so screwed up pyschologically that their young hardly know where to turn, and end up hating and killing one another.
For anyone who never watch "The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till" documentary, go to the "topdocumentaryfilms" site and click on the "History" category. If this documentary didn't make you cry, I don't know what would.
@madmax8903 Blacks are not even the most discriminated against group anymore. It is glamorized to be black these days.People want to be black.I know because i myself hated myself for not being black.I HATED myself for being hispanic because being Hispanic is now seen as a curse. To everyone we are just Illegal Mexicans who Steal, kill, and cheat. It is because if this great mam El Hajj Malik Shabazz i want to be a Hispanic Civil rights leader and fight for my people just as Malcolm did.
@andres65080 I applaud your noble ambition but let me ask you something: What was your family's name 200 years ago? In which country did they live? What language did they speak? Is the colour of their and your skin used as a synonym for filth, evil, oblivion, nothingness? Is your ancestral home called the "Dark Continent"? Get my point? The truly sad thing is that now Afrikans potentiate these crimes against themselves, eg. asking for reparations, which is a route back into slavery.
@KTAZYAKALMM It's so deeply ingrained in the black psyche that we don't even realise it, or we're so comfortable with it we evade it. I see it in the faces of whites, but less than I see it in the expressions of blacks. I heard a smart Black woman say the other day that she wore a sleek wig because she supervised nothing but whites and if they saw her with her natural hair they wouldn't take her seriously. Made me sick. Angela Walker would bawl, that in 2011 black people feel they have to...
...compromise their integrity for professional advancement. This is the result of King's brand of appeasement: you can sit at the end of the table, not on the floor as heretofore, as long as you behave yourself. The NOI, for all its faults, saw this. They saw how racism destroyed the souls of black people, therefore their solution was Get out from amongst them!
When do I get to blame everyone but myself by saying all the stereotypical shit that gets thrown in my face about RACE. Holy crap I could rack up on some shit. And all these people that sit here and type like they talk " dis be, and da brotha and da man " well that shows your ingnorance right "dar".
For crying out loud where does a person like me get to put the blame ( mexican, " American indian"( my land to begin with), french, german, and irish) when things aren't going my way? When do I get to say it is because of the whites that I am where I am. When do I get all the free government help everyone keeps saying is only for certain people.
Slavery was stop through wars all involving BOTH races (not everyone liked the concept) but it was stopped. WHITE and Black alike stopped segregation( again not liked by all) but it stopped. Now we have a black president and instead of having an AMERICAN president elected by AMERICANS the race card is constenly being played. When will we all become AMERICAN and stop blaming each other for there own down falls.
It is sad that even know that we have a new president it still has to be about RACE. Black blaming white, white blaming black. 100 years is a long time for BOTH races to hold a grudge. Who's fault is it? Let us ponder for a moment the fact that some jerk in other countries (including almost all) decided that slavery was the way to go. Of course I realize that none of these PEOPLE were run down the docks yelling for them to stop the boat to come over to be a slave. So they end up here in America.
Why do ignorant people like yourself ever get to comment on sensitive racial issues when all that you do is vote for George Bush and vote Republican, and always be watching Faux News?
i really appreciate your comment. to discuss complex issues with ignorant or miseducated people is an exercise in futility--unless such individuals are open-minded enough to be receptive and understand their present state of ignorance. most people fall into this category, in the usa and the world over. propaganda and lack of true information has led to complete ignoramuses posturing as "authorities" on subjects that they know nothing about or who are simply acting on false information.
Its sad when the lie becomes the truth and the truth becomes the lie. He fought so hard to open the mind of individuals who were and still blind of the ignorance. We've been broken down as ppl for long, we have actually grown to believe the ignorance has gone away. Its just sweeped under the carpet. We are so strong, so intelligent yet so destroyed, we destroy ourselves. Believing we are our enemies, they forfilled the Wilie Lynch speech. They r afraid of us but not for the reasons we THINK.
please look into the nonobvious, yes black men pulled the trigger but who pulled the black men? This country is built on conspiracy and what happen to brother malcolm was no different.
its so shocking that a powerful black man like dis wasn't eve killed by da kkk but black ppl I mean WOW.Black ppl wud get killed 4 jus lookin at white ppl.dis man actually talked da truth about dem and he gets killed by black ppl.
The word black came all the way from the Hyksos dynasty when they over threw the original inhabitants of Kemet by turning the mixed children against their parents after seeing that violence alone could not have defeated the people.
This is great..When he went to Mecca he learned that we are all equal..He learned and was out to promote change and they murdered him what a loss!! Peace and Love..
the latest history of the world says that blacks see a going concern and they want it, the blacks always use guilt & fear to get it eg zambia, south africa, zimbabwe use colonialism to do it. Now it's Israels turn cos it works - so the blacks covet it. then it's turned to shit ghetto and blacks need someonr to blame again. what is black culture? what is black society? why cannot the black man sustain anything? blackman enough, look to yourself and do something, it was the arabs that enslaved you
He went from being an important voice although a separatist to a man that saw that all races could live in harmony. I loved learning of Malcolm X, who later became known as El-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz, and the changes throughout his life. While reading his autobiography I understood his position that the white man was the devil. I am a white Jew but understood why he believed what he did. But after going to Mecca
he became that much more powerful as a man to promote change. What an incredible loss.
Not true...I responded and I dont belive in the NOI. It contadicts the TRUE teachings of the Quran and Islam. Sorry, but many just dont bother stating the truth to u all...u knw I cant be bothered either..its ridiculous how u still want to segregate races...We are an ummah start acting like one..commuinty of all races.
Malcom X is one of the most fascinating people in American history. I read his autobiography in high school and was stunned to learn of the unique path he walked throughout his life. We could use Malcom today--a man of great insight, commitment, and compassion.

@bapyou It is good to hear a white man say things like this.I would like to move past black or white but the rest of the world proably never will be.I agree with you 100% may the Most High bless you and yours.
dharm17 1 year ago
@bapyou I agree with U. I believe anti Malcolm X people can't see beyond the human rights/race issues of the time & comprehend the common sense & honesty in his message which applies to all mankind. History has exposed so much injustice in the struggle for dignity & we now understand how racism is used as a divisive method which keeps us constantly bickering over non-issues we solve. I'm not black either but IMO Malcolm X would be an American hero if he wasnt black

@PeeDopeRecords
No sir. He wouldn't be an American hero period!
NSnake91 2 months ago
Thats sum of the stupidest bullshit i ever did here lol. First of all how can u compare 2days fuked mentality of black people instilled by the white man (Read Willy Lynch) to that in the days of slavery. Ur men wer savagely beating and raping both men and women. This isnt about light hearted physical attraction idiot
Notoriousrsb 2 years ago
Evidence 4 ur bullshit please?
Notoriousrsb 2 years ago
The white mans idea of hatred is very different from mine. The white man opperates on impulse of emotion plus irational action. Just becuase i understand hu the living devil is, doesnt mean everytime i see a white person some uncontrolable rage fills up inside me. I have understanding and control my friend, but i understand as a race, white people are an uncontrolable destructive force. Wat dus having white blood mean? Ur just higlighting ur dirty, raping slavemaster ancestors
Notoriousrsb 2 years ago
resent the fact ur here? i cudnt giv 2 fuks but i aint about to play down wat ur race hav done and no this cannot b turned against any other race that whites and if so tell me which race has rivaled whites in evils committed? White people set a new precident in evil, u make the devil in the bible look lyk a boyscout. i'm saying a grave error was made in the creation of white people.
Notoriousrsb 2 years ago
about the collective evil you have committed as a rac over centuries.
Notoriousrsb 2 years ago
Fair enough but ther is a distinct higher amount of collective evil commited by the white race and ther is NO denying that. Also stop trying to distort shit, wen malcolm came bak from Mecca, maybe his view on white people wen as extreme as calling them the devil but he still strongly realisedthe common enemy of the black man... the white man. Its funny how white ppl try and play off this by dealing with individuality. NO1 is talkin about individual circumstances involving whites, we're talking
Notoriousrsb 2 years ago
I read his autobiography 4 times between the ages of 12 and 15. But it didn't stop there.....I wanted to learn as much as I could so I could never be made to feel ashamed of who I am again. In a debate at school, I defended his teachings against another student who likened it to "black racism" which may have been true in the beginning but changed. This is why I have a lot of respect for him. He helped me embrace myself as a Black woman.
honeybflyy21282 2 years ago

The racism is still going on. It's all over television and Hollywood movies.
MyNameIsSamael 2 years ago 25
the racism is there to delude us from what we should be doing as people...this racism is passive but still imminent in our society, both in America and abroad...but the only thing that makes powerful is the beautiful minds gave us all...we shouldn't succumb to anyone or anything..and if this is a thing we shouldn't give in..our Fore Father's didn't..

And your typically patronising rebuff is quite predictable. I'll remind you that the first thing you said was that you understood where I was coming from. You don't even know where I'm coming from, neither my background, my mental development nor my convictions. But it's interesting once again to note how when a black man complains about the treatment of his people some white "non-racist" has to stick his unsavoury oar in.
madmax8903 2 years ago
No, that's my point. You don't understand where I'm coming from because you can't. As a matter of fact your apologist-sounding comment is actually inappropriate in the context of mine which was a cry or expostulation for that justice the black diaspora never got.

By the way I admired ALL the races that stood up against what was wrong for those times. But they should be over now and lets see if the new American president can get some better times going for us. And lets pray that God stops the dumbass that thinks he needs to pull the race card with MY new pres. ( who, like myself, has more than one race if we have to go there)
harmanjameschris 3 years ago
Come on AMERICA lets start playing the America card and stop telling every generation that they are oppressed by the white man or that you can't do things because of the black man and become a human race. Everyone in this world has to stuggle enough as it is just to survive without scarring the shit out of the next generation with a hundred year old screw up from ALL races.
harmanjameschris 3 years ago
I'm tired of people talking up the problems of all other races as soon as someone talks about the oppression of blacks in America and elsewhere. They talk about things being different now and basically to get over it. Forgive and forget. But their race wasn't uprooted, their culture and their very names cast into oblivion, enslaved, raped and murdered for centuries by law, and now so screwed up pyschologically that their young hardly know where to turn, and end up hating and killing one another.

It is because if this great mam El Hajj Malik Shabazz i want to be a Hispanic Civil rights leader and fight for my people just as Malcolm did.
andres65080 1 year ago
@andres65080 I applaud your noble ambition but let me ask you something: What was your family's name 200 years ago? In which country did they live? What language did they speak? Is the colour of their and your skin used as a synonym for filth, evil, oblivion, nothingness? Is your ancestral home called the "Dark Continent"? Get my point? The truly sad thing is that now Afrikans potentiate these crimes against themselves, eg. asking for reparations, which is a route back into slavery.

KTAZYAKALMM 9 months ago
@KTAZYAKALMM It's so deeply ingrained in the black psyche that we don't even realise it, or we're so comfortable with it we evade it. I see it in the faces of whites, but less than I see it in the expressions of blacks. I heard a smart Black woman say the other day that she wore a sleek wig because she supervised nothing but whites and if they saw her with her natural hair they wouldn't take her seriously. Made me sick. Angela Walker would bawl, that in 2011 black people feel they have to...
madmax8903 8 months ago
...compromise their integrity for professional advancement. This is the result of King's brand of appeasement: you can sit at the end of the table, not on the floor as heretofore, as long as you behave yourself. The NOI, for all its faults, saw this. They saw how racism destroyed the souls of black people, therefore their solution was Get out from amongst them!
madmax8903 8 months ago
When do I get to blame everyone but myself by saying all the stereotypical shit that gets thrown in my face about RACE. Holy crap I could rack up on some shit. And all these people that sit here and type like they talk " dis be, and da brotha and da man " well that shows your ingnorance right "dar".
harmanjameschris 3 years ago
For crying out loud where does a person like me get to put the blame ( mexican, " American indian"( my land to begin with), french, german, and irish) when things aren't going my way? When do I get to say it is because of the whites that I am where I am. When do I get all the free government help everyone keeps saying is only for certain people.
harmanjameschris 3 years ago
Slavery was stop through wars all involving BOTH races (not everyone liked the concept) but it was stopped. WHITE and Black alike stopped segregation( again not liked by all) but it stopped. Now we have a black president and instead of having an AMERICAN president elected by AMERICANS the race card is constenly being played. When will we all become AMERICAN and stop blaming each other for there own down falls.
harmanjameschris 3 years ago
It is sad that even know that we have a new president it still has to be about RACE. Black blaming white, white blaming black. 100 years is a long time for BOTH races to hold a grudge. Who's fault is it? Let us ponder for a moment the fact that some jerk in other countries (including almost all) decided that slavery was the way to go. Of course I realize that none of these PEOPLE were run down the docks yelling for them to stop the boat to come over to be a slave. So they end up here in America.
harmanjameschris 3 years ago
Why do ignorant people like yourself ever get to comment on sensitive racial issues when all that you do is vote for George Bush and vote Republican, and always be watching Faux News?
Neville6000 3 years ago
i really appreciate your comment. to discuss complex issues with ignorant or miseducated people is an exercise in futility--unless such individuals are open-minded enough to be receptive and understand their present state of ignorance. most people fall into this category, in the usa and the world over. propaganda and lack of true information has led to complete ignoramuses posturing as "authorities" on subjects that they know nothing about or who are simply acting on false information.
salahudeen1962 3 years ago
Its sad when the lie becomes the truth and the truth becomes the lie. He fought so hard to open the mind of individuals who were and still blind of the ignorance. We've been broken down as ppl for long, we have actually grown to believe the ignorance has gone away. Its just sweeped under the carpet. We are so strong, so intelligent yet so destroyed, we destroy ourselves. Believing we are our enemies, they forfilled the Wilie Lynch speech. They r afraid of us but not for the reasons we THINK.

Malcolm wasn't scared to tell the truth, he wanted our people to change and to respect ourselves.
He wasn't for violence and racism he was for freedom, justice and equality for Afrikans.

the latest history of the world says that blacks see a going concern and they want it, the blacks always use guilt & fear to get it eg zambia, south africa, zimbabwe use colonialism to do it.
