Apple OS X Lion 10.7 - Mail app problems *WARNING*

Thanks for posting. Have also had problems with searches just as billgarnett has indicated. Also had problems with the way some files are displayed when using the Quick Look feature. Those same files are fine in Snow Leopard, and on iPods

I am unable to do accurate searches of a specific word within my mailboxes. The new mail search is a mess. I also suspect Spotlight is not even accurately searching my other files. This problem is being reported all over the Internet (check Google). Why does't Apple man up and alert new iMac and Lion buyers and provide some assistance? I am leery to follow a fix suggested in a forum by someone who may be an eleven year old nerd somewhere out in cyberspace.

I'm also really disappointed with the mail client in Lion. It's so buggy and also causes random hangs which make the whole OS seem slow. Rubbish :(

Thank you MacBeeln for pointing this out. The search function in the new mail version has also been completely and utterly mauled.

you are not kidding,i have a separate issue with mail in lion,the mail app is filling my hard drive uncontrollably,with files,until there is no space left,and the the computer locks up,it has been one week now and still have not found a solution!
