  • I was wondering

My guinea pig is having babies and it was by accident and i was wondering what to expect...B.c. i read that guinea pigs may have their babies at night and this is her 1st pregnancy so wat do i do when birth happens?

  • they are a little young to be away from there mum........they can't walk yet,and the first has blood on it,still cute ......are they albino????

  • ohh its very ugly,but cute=)

  • omg u idiot! one hour after they were born?! they NEED to be with their mother in that time! :/

  • @issybabe73 Christ, stop whining about abuse. The person took a short vid, then put them back. Instead of bitching, look at their comments in the comment section. They know what they're doing

  • söt :)

  • omg ur not supposed to touch them after 3 days!

if u don't the mom will reject them and not nurse. trust me my piggy had 2 sets of babies.

  • that's not necessarily true. we've had plenty of litters, and handled them from early on, and they have fed just fine. what I would say is I wouldn't have taken the baby away from it's mum after just an hour, and always make sure they're never too far from each other. if you're going to handle the babies, do it within sight of the mum.

  • @ThePiggielover Its not true, ive had my rescue center for guinea pigs for 3 years and had a lot of babies cos of that. If you are gentle and calm it is no worries to take a few pics and say hi to the babies.

  • @ThePiggielover rubbish, the babies arent affected, neither is the mum, she wont reject them. if yours did, she was a bad mum. i breed guinea pigs, trust me, i know

  • kawaiii!!!!!

  • hate red eyed guinea pigs. no offence. ur baby is cute

  • thats not nice. if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it.

  • i sed but it's cute. they just terrify me thts why. but that baby is cute

  • Those are the same guinea pigs!

  • @myhomecrib No they are siblings

  • cute guinea pig

  • they are SOOOO cute!!!!!!!!!

  • soooo cute i want one!

  • Aww! So cute! I wish my guinea pigs could have babies . . . but they're both boys!

  • @PiggyLuvful Breeding guinea pigs is very dangerous for the guinea pig mother, so if you dont wanna risk your friend, dont breed. I got these babies cos I have a rescue center, but I would never breed guinea pigs myself.

  • @Elera88 Breeding isn't risky, there is only a small chance of probles with the mum, we had only 2 problems with the mum in the 7 years we have been breeding

  • @Elera88 I understand were your coming from but if every body thought the way you do we wouldnt have any pets.... your right a guineapig could die giving birth what do you think happens in the wild???? they can still die. At least with a breeder every birth is planed! in the wild they can get preg 24 hours just having giving birth fathers will inbreed and mate there daughters a sow can get pregnant as early as 4 weeks! ofcourse she wont be able to give birth and of course dies!... thank you

  • @Elera88 May I ask why it's so dangerous for the mother? I understand that young ones could be killed, but what is th danger to the mother?

  • @Elera88 I did it several times and there never has been any problem. When it´s so dangerous how do the piggies survive in the wild?

  • @PiggyLuvful LOL

  • he's like? mommy! where re you??

    so cute ^^

but you shouldn't let them be seperate for too long in this early stage ;)

  • soo cute :3 they cnt even move thier feet and ears :]

  • So gorgeous!

  • wow the eyes opened

  • guinea pigs are actually born with their eyes open

  • OMG

  • i know isn't that weird cause most animals are born with their eyes open....but the guinia pig is so freaking cute anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • adoriblle

  • aww baby guinea pigs look soo weird but cute in a weird way!! :)

  • very cute great video .

  • Gorgeous! Enjoy my response! LOL

  • cutey!! :)

  • AHHHH!!! So cute =3

And 'Pojken' it the word for 'Boy' and 'Flican' is for 'Girl'

    Did you know that? =3

    It´s swedish =P

  • @Horsaz Yes i do since Im swedish

  • @Elera88 i thought so, even though i dont know much swedish anyway, im better at english haha

  • yeah they say that u shudnt pick up a baby guinea-pig str8 awayy and leave it a few days. because the mother can smell ur scent and sumtimes abandon them. but im sure its okay :) x

  • That's a myth. I don't know of any mother animal that will abandon a baby because of a human scent on it. Only if you try to wash off your scent, because then you're also washing away mom's scent.

  • so cute

  • he she is so cute!

  • so beautiful

  • Breeding a female guinea pig over 5-6 months for the first time is actually the cut off, not 12 months...be careful!

  • how cute is he

  • its very sweet and lovely and cute and beautiful baby cavy :)

  • Your piggie is sooo sweet. Reminds me of our Angel guinea pig.

  • To je klááááááásnýýýýýýýýýý :-) NICE!!!!! :-*

  • hmm it's usually not a great idea to pick them up just after birth...i usually wait about 5 days before handling them...but i'm sure you were very gentle with them :)

  • you know i want to breed my Shelly in october and she is 4 monthes old now and her 'boyfriend' is most likely a year. this would be the first breeding of mammals i've ever done so i'm gathering information from people who've had experience with breeding guinea pigs and such. I love both my piggies so i want to do this right. do you have any advice you could give me? right now i let them visit each other and they live right next to each other.

  • it's good that you're breeding her when she's under a year old, because if you breed a female that's over a year, there's a high chance that their pelvis won't open up properly for the birth...i would just say give her lots of greens, and it would be a good idea to let the male live with her, so that they can bond in the traditional mate way...it may take awhile for her to fall pregnant, but be patient, and try not to handle her too much during this time :) Let nature take it's course :)

  • that is so cute

  • Thats pretty big! I thought baby pigs would be kinda hamster size! XD

  • Actually baby guinea pigs are born with their eyes open and can eat regular food in no time. (I had guinea pigs, and when we get a pet my mom does like two days of research first.)

  • Really?! That`s so crazy! I still can`t believe they produce such big babies, they must be so huge when they are pregnant XD

  • You shoudn't separate the babies from their mum so soon after birth. They are cute though!

  • I didnt seperate them from their mother =) Just took them away for 2 mins to get photos of them.

  • @catchu2 you can separate them it it is fine, aslong as you don't have them away for too long

  • aww so sweet!

i cant wait til mine actually gives birth which should be any day now XD

  • Me too!

Thought i had two females lol. Any day now! Good luck with your litter :D

  • aw there so cute haha and so curious

  • so cute(=

  • sooo cute!

  • aw what did you name the guinea pig

  • in the sense that guinea pigs are born with fur and their eyes open that makes them superior to rabbits in that area.

  • I've had a couple guinea pigs before, and damn are they expensive. Each guinea pig can each 4 large pieces of lettuce at a time, but when it comes to skinny pigs, he can eat an entire head of lettuce at a time (some exaggeration)

  • Lettuce can make a guinea pig ill, so dont give them that much. Give them carrots instead and cabbage for the c-vitamins.

  • its so cuuuuteee! especially cuz its sooo little and when it tries to walk....aaaa i whould love to have one but i cnt cuz bigger pet shop is far away from my house.. :(

  • What's the song??

  • its says its been removed...

  • Only on your screen bro!

  • ohhhh soooo adoyable, but thier names r kinda confusing.. ^.^

  • so cute!

  • omg! its adorable!

  • i didnt know they were born with fur and eyes open??

  • now like after 1 hour their eyes start to open cos they need milk really quick to keep their vitamin c high

  • Looks sleepy. Guess I would be too if it was my birthday.

  • My brothers guinea pig died the 2 june 2008 (crying) and now the 12 september my died! (8 years old) But they are in a better place now and they are young forever! I love them so much...

  • mann..either u wet da shit..or its sick n needs a vet.. I mean it looks healthy energy wise but the back leg posture is kinda limp and it looks as if its balding as if it inherrited sumTHING..scary.. must be no more then 1-2 weeks old...in which case i can understand..

  • It is less then an hour old :P

  • aww their cute.

    I want a white one

but I heard their hard to find=/

  • i have a white 1 and a grey 1

  • yes coz you cant find a human without one freckle. same a s a piggie, coz u cant find one with a dainty mark

  • i have two pure white albino babies ,but the have black noses but it's dirt that won't come off (they don't like baths) and the youngest's (Ruby) leg and foot has turned black. Now when they are adults it's easy to tell them apart :D

  • There is no albino guinea pig. White pigs with pink eyes, black/brown noses and feet are called Himalaya... People should know what kind of pet they are keeping.....*sigh*

  • well i'm sorry but i'm a 12 year old girl and i found that out a few weeks ago from a book, people should also not stick their noses where they are not wanted :D

  • there are albino's we had an albino and his perents wwere brown and ginger

  • aren't those 2 the same pig???

    cuz it seems that way...

  • No it's a boy and a girl.

  • i lyk when he goes to explore over the desk and u pull him back. my piggy rlaph does that too. he ran up my pant leg when he was sitting on the floor with me once.
