  • You staying stoned, you got enough water and a place to sleep? Listening to her thats all you need.

  • Work me Lord, work me Lord.

    Please don't you leave me,

I feel so useless down here

    With no one to love

    Though I've looked everywhere

And I can't find me anybody to love,

    To feel my care.

  • I got a copy of her Fillmore East Poster from 68; prized possesion. She modeled for some of my artwork. Will put one on canvas.

  • People need to understand the roots of rock and rap music are the blues. Think of different types of music as branches from a tree. Tree branches don't have to compete with each other to be valid. I personally consider Janis a blues singer. She covered songs by jazz and blues greats on a regular. Know the history of the music. It is very interesting.

  • It is so nice to hear and watch this video! You can hear Janis Joplin's lovely Texas Southern hospitality, concerned about everyone in the audience! Lovely!

  • forever with us

  • Love her

little girl blue always brings tears to my eyes

    others also

  • Purely AWESOME!! Noone out there like her or ever will be, she was truly ONE of a kind!!!!

  • She wasn't skinny, she wasn't pretty, she however, had a voice that could blow you away, without even trying. No female singer, today, could even come close to her. She was the best.

  • @nthqlndr Not skinny, not pretty? I admit she's a bit unconventional-looking at times, and maybe not up to insane standards of today's fashion mags, but I think she looked great! (In addition to her having a great voice!)

  • @nthqlndr i personally think she's beautiful. you don't have to be skinny to be pretty.

  • fucking awesome! OMG I love that girl! I want some acid and a time machine!!!

  • Her voice just hits me right in the heart, makes me sad that she is gone, same for jimi, jim morrison, and kurt

  • @PaddyM2884 same here the reatest gone too soon

  • @PaddyM2884 except kurt

    unless you mean Vonnegut.

  • @PaddyM2884 "kurt" and not john lennon? never heard that one before

  • "I'm one of those regular weird people."

    - Janis Joplin

  • GODDESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • Grazie Janis

  • I LOVE YOU JANIS

  • Janis Joplin - To Love Somebody

    is this?

  • love forever!!!! someday i gonna be with you!!!!!!

  • goddess.

  • janis guapa

  • God! This is my fav song of hers. Never tired of hearing it. Love ya Janis baby, my fellow Texan :)

  • I fell in love with Janis the first time I heard her sing,, and somehow through all the years, i've never fell out of love with her.. crazy ain't it..

Maybe some day we can share that glass of Southern Comfort.

    Fly free with the Angels

  • Just think, When you get to Heaven, You can talk anyone you want. You can buy them a drink at the local bar. But I figure God keeps Janis pretty close at hand. Would'nt you?

  • and the voice....

  • a godess

  • im twelve and what is this

  • @bobdylan4evr bliss.

  • Ahhh whats beats me is why havent we any more people who would like to revolution like our parents and grandparents did? The media seems to take people and spit them out in whatever veiw that they please.Ahhhh man we cant let it go on, anybody with me friend me, im serious we need to make a revolution, nationwide, we need to let the spirit burn just once more, let the passion run free. Freedom, peace, happiness, all this with just a bit of self control, a perfect world, like i said, friend me.

  • its amazing her and energy and soul in her music

    everytime.

    thanks Janis

  • your stayin stoned and you got enough water a place to sleep and everything?

    fuck yea

  • pure energy from the soul....can you feel it?

  • Ok ! En ole humalassa !!! Lähden juuri käymään kaupassa hakemassa kahvia. Moi.

  • Janis, where ever U are ! We love you, me and my friend. We sing for you. ______ so fuck up. What missstake???

  • Janis, where ever U are ! We love you, me and my friend. We sing for you.

  • 19 years old and i love this legend.

  • I DIE HARD WANT TO LIVE BACK THEN... What kind of music we can hear nowadays... It was a fairy tale there, pure clean music that led those lives... awesome...

  • onr of the best

  • She has vocal power! We all miss you Janis!

  • this is not piece of my heart fuckers

  • Her music is great but i really dont get why people keep brining up rap like its bad music or something because its not. What does rap even have to do with this? Just enjoy the music.

  • @tiarra8282 amen brother

  • @tiarra8282 because we can understand the words for one and two her songs and most songs back then were about PEACE LOVE AND HAPPINESS.....not the stuff they rap about

  • God is she amazing? I Iove Janis! What I would give to be there.

  • Pot is great.

  • thank you robi! kiitti ku soitit mulle tän, i loov juu! janis on huippu!

  • Janis cares for the Woodstock fans. Then gives them a voice to that home and remember for ever

Janisss

  • How right you are shorelineboy - a squawky drughead with a rough as gut disposal of a song - Kristofferson must have winced when he heard her sing his song. Regardless of all of this, drugs have crucified a lot of singers. I just wonder why so many stood in line to get their share. Graham Melb Aus

  • @23zowie23 cause drugs are fucking awesome

  • @23zowie23 this squawky drughead will be remembered long after you've died alone, cocksucker.

  • you should never hate anything, ever.

  • No body matches the great 'Pearl'....♥

  • wow what a woman what a preformer what a voice what a everything brilliant . i love janis

  • @shorelineboy She was a druggie

  • @ShenFennek so what it was the 60,s people experimented lots of us did. Being on drugs doesnt alter the fact that she was brilliant and exceptional. How can thie fact that Janis took drugs influence whether you like her or not. She was an exceptional talant still remembered and loved to this day by old and young.

  • @ShenFennek

that's why we all should hate all kind of drug use, she died all rotten because of that. :(

  • @Chenet7 That's far too extreme. Janis and many others have said that drugs are part of the inspiration for their music. Obviously drug users should be responsible about their use, but to make a blanket statement about hating all drugs forever oversimplifies the issue. People will do drugs because it gives them satisfaction in a number of ways. Trying to prohibit that will only lead society to further punish those free adults who aren't hurting anyone and whose drug intake doesn't cause any harm

  • @gg4465a Well said my friend, well said.

  • i wish i could go back in time to see woodstock and always have rad music around me, instead im 16 in the year 2010 were all the shitty music is being written

  • im in the year 2010 - 21years old and i love this woman, she makes very good music and she know howabout she scribe ;)

  • WHAT SONG IS THIS????? SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME!!!

  • @PopCultureSucks work me, lord

  • @GigginoSV thanks

  • WOW..no one come even close to her...None..not even Taylor Swift LOL

  • saw her live 69 mpls-one great concert

  • Saw her in 1969 in New Orleans Pop Festival at the Baton Rouge International Speedway in Prairieville, Louisiana. great concert...so sad she's gone

  • theres no talent even close to what she has today. today, instead of writing songs, the performer just writes a check and the person with talent hands them the song.

  • I can't stop the tears from rolling down my cheeks watching and listening to this incredible footage... Delete everything i said in the past about Janis, she really iS the best...

  • love you ¡¡ janis joplin .... live forever in my life ...

  • You know for all its fame this was really a bad concert alot went wrong and the music quality was pretty bad...

  • I love Classic Rock don't get me wrong. But the people here that say modern music sux, you're not hearing the right bands. Don't listen to the radio. There are a TON of sick modern bands like My Morning Jacket, The National, The Black Keys, Spoon, Arcade Fire, Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson, The Avett Bros, The Hold Steady, LCD Soundsystem, etc......I could go on and on......Check these bands out please before you trash our generation's sound.

  • Biggest and best slumber party in history

  • where is the REAL ACTUAL woodstock video of her singing?

  • just some Great Stuff

  • She becomes a part of the song and vice versa- enough power & energy for a huge audience on a huge area. GREAT!

  • i would give everything to be there even for an hour...

  • all rap isnt bad you just need to find the good stuff like rhymsayers they put their hearts into it and thats what matters

  • They say that if you remember Woodstock you weren't there. I don't remember it, does that mean I was there? BTW, I was 7 that summer.

  • The best thing about this vid is that that the cameramen were just as blasted as Janice

  • @kamloopsguy86.....if you can post me a solo that would come close to the one in the last minuet of this video I sure would like to see it.

It would surely make my day Just A Little Bit Brighter, Try

As for what she would be doing in the future, that's one thing no one knows.

  • Why wasn't i alive yet? Dad why didn't you have me when you were 16? Why??????? I wish woodstock was back with everyone who played in it!

  • @toroloco767

    pure io

  • why cant the world stay like this?

  • My girl ! :)) Luvv her ! ♥

  • janis sei tutto

  • janis joplin rules

  • janis joplin and jimi hendrix at woodstock 1969 is the best!!

  • Watch Richie Havens rendition of Strawberry Fields, it's right up there with them.

  • Shivers down my spine !!!!!!!!! Tears to my eyes !!! What a powerful and bright soul she is and forever will be !!!!

  • You can seriously feel her feelings when you listen to this

  • I want to turn back the clock. I want to experience. Make Love not War

  • @Sosak007

scary times there were more wars all around the world than now

  • @Sosak007 Me too

  • Comment removed

  • @Sosak007

Yeah it was not all that great sometimes...The whole "Make War" part was very real.

  • next time you upload this learn how to register it into the full screen and not a very tiny mini view -

make use of the 85% of the screen you have elected not to use-

Learn how to upload on You Tube properly- and learn how to use your PC & editing equipment- properly-

  • Perhaps you shouldn't be such a pretentious little prick eh?

  • @rentatrip1 get a life sunshine, sounds like you had a bad trip growing up, didnt we all eh? big world out there pal, grab some of it before you become even more anally retentive !! stop blaming & start claiming

  • When one displays art here on You Tube it is apparent that some have little or no skill/talent in the production deptartment--

blaming & Claiming .. did you learn that happy expression from community organizer "Barry" in Romper Room ?

i simply suggest that one take the time to develop video skills so others may better enjoy the "ART"- I Claim that -

YOU are well labeledas Were-nutz and should continue your finger paint with the other children now move along to your desk its nap time

  • rentatrip- - -me thinks you are the sad damaged end product of a somewhat disfunctional upbringing - - - -get help & try to curb your ego. Putting others down to make yourself feel better is so transparent.

  • A master piece of Janis, and not the one

  • She had such a sadness about her.

  • Once I've hearrd that she said to a reporter that two rock stars' coudn't die in a so short period of time reffering to Hendrix death, and it happened in the day she died.

Doesn't mind, she lived so intense and so fast that we can still hear she singing.

  • Amazing! ty so much for sharing this!!

  • @maxwheeler100 there's good rap. no generalizations? for your own good!

  • @maxwheeler100 lmaoooooo @ im eleven

  • che energia

    <3

  • Some said that in her beginning years of singing her voice was clear, but after doing drugs where she was snorting. It cause her voice to become raspy. But either clear or raspy, I think she was great. The woman sung her heart out. I really wished people had of treated her better. When she was in school.

  • old sweet hippi- this time never come back... :-(

    Storia....

  • her voice fluctuated so much. she could make her voice sound as clean or as raw and dirty as she wanted. truly unique and amazing talent. i don't even think she took vocal lessons in her life.

  • grande Janis ...

  • natural talent, amazing voice, amazing woman to bad she had such a shitty life.

I don't think she knew what a impact she had on the world with her music...she only sang the only way she knew how and it came from her heart and soul R.I.P

  • THIS SONG IS A GREAT ONE.

  • This is not just a great song....

  • i have never heard a white woman sing so soulful in my life! im in total shock watchin this vid. RIP

  • Is the first time you have heard Janis?

  • i think so..

  • She is an icon, many people can impersonate peoples voices but not one could do hers, thats how unique she was but unfortunatly her life sucked and she killed herself with heroin

  • she definitely sang from her heart.

    no doubt about it.

  • she had a bad childhood.... she really sang all her songs from the heart

  • Such a powerful voice. She could have had such an amazing career. What a loss for the world. RIP Janis.

  • I agree, one of the Rock world's most powerful voices...however, she DID have an amazing career. True loss no doubt, but Janis went out on top...hugely missed and in her prime. I don't think she would have been content to watch her popularity wane with the changing tides of music. So, with that as little comfort, she left this world with the title 'Embodiment of a Generation'...and became as famous and immortal as she always wanted to be. Peace.

  • Can you even imagine what she would have done if she had lived though? If she had given up the drugs and booze, or at least cut back, she still could be singing. The world will never know what else she could have done.

  • I completely agree with you.

  • Grande e indimenticabile Janis!
