@NathanR38 - As someone who has been put into a 'trance' by Derren before at one of his live shows, I can believe that Tony would be just a bit dazed by what was going on around him, rather that going all ninja on them! When you 'wake up' you just feel a bit groggy and confused and it takes a couple of minutes to get back to normal and alert.

@NathanR38 He's just been completely relaxed (by Derren Brown no less), and not really told to 'wake up'...he's still in a very relaxed state / light trance which would be visible after hypnosis. Therefore a huge / alert reaction wouldn't be expected. Also, Derren's said to him tons of times as they wheeled him there "you'll be completely comfortable and safe"...at the back of his mind, however hypnotic amnesia he's been given, he can see those words effectively as a post-hypnotic suggestion.
@BrizyComics Why? It's not like he actually operated on him. Plus Derren always makes sure that the person is fine afterwards and if he had any problems with it he wouldn't have signed the waiver to allow the footage to be used. I think this looks amazing and a very interesting experiment in to just how much we are influenced every day despite thinking we are using free will.
@Stump2502 I know, I am constantly amazed at the extensive precautions he takes and the very careful screening process of his contestants and volunteers. I just have so much empathy for the subjects that I cannot help but imagine what I would do in their shoes--and in this case, I suspect I would completely flip out. @truvelocity o i don't doubt they cover the health and safety aspects. its interesting that some ppl r more suggestible than others.. i'm pleased he shares his gifts and doesn't play the wizard of oz. i think he gets more respect for being open and sharing his research. he seems to be exploring it rather than jus playing. it makes u wonder though how suggestions work. why and such is interesting. not to exploit but to better understand the subconscious mind. i like how he shows the deprogramming

This may be a stupid question but... What happened? All I got was that he abducted some bloke and did a fake brain op on him, he woke up half way through, they put him back to sleep,he shoves the bloke back to the same place on the street he was on before being abducted and then said bloke doesn't remember anything?

@NathanR38 - As someone who has been put into a 'trance' by Derren before at one of his live shows, I can believe that Tony would be just a bit dazed by what was going on around him, rather that going all ninja on them! When you 'wake up' you just feel a bit groggy and confused and it takes a couple of minutes to get back to normal and alert.

@NathanR38 He's just been completely relaxed (by Derren Brown no less), and not really told to 'wake up'...he's still in a very relaxed state / light trance which would be visible after hypnosis. Therefore a huge / alert reaction wouldn't be expected. Also, Derren's said to him tons of times as they wheeled him there "you'll be completely comfortable and safe"...at the back of his mind, however hypnotic amnesia he's been given, he can see those words effectively as a post-hypnotic suggestion.

@BrizyComics Why? It's not like he actually operated on him. Plus Derren always makes sure that the person is fine afterwards and if he had any problems with it he wouldn't have signed the waiver to allow the footage to be used. I think this looks amazing and a very interesting experiment in to just how much we are influenced every day despite thinking we are using free will.

@Stump2502 I know, I am constantly amazed at the extensive precautions he takes and the very careful screening process of his contestants and volunteers. I just have so much empathy for the subjects that I cannot help but imagine what I would do in their shoes--and in this case, I suspect I would completely flip out. But rest assured, I will not miss this series.
