@ilikewaffles49 Wow! Thanks! Well, seeing as I'm not the only person who's made a comment about how useless this video is, and I have 2 thumbs up I guess there's comfort in knowing that I'm not the only "idiot" watching this video. All I'm saying is that she's showing from the wrong angle. The camera is looking at it from behind her work, which is not the way you look at a project when you're actually crocheting. I figured it out from another video, so it's all good!
I'm a total newbie, and this video does nothing for me. :( You are going so fast and there are no close up shots when you're inserting the hook. Well, off to find a clearer video.
I don't get why you're going through both loops. I've always been taught back loop only, unless otherwise specified. Plus, you're not helping much by not specifying which chain to dip into when turning. I haven't crocheted a square garment in awhile and needed a reminder on where to place my turn stitch. I was hoping this tutorial would help since it's so well photographed. It didn't. I suggest a revision including which chain to dip into and what stitch you turned with.
thank you soo much...i had been able to crochet before but i had stopped for a while and frogot how to make a second row...thank you for jogging my memory!
To make my question more clear, the gown has 16 rows and 44 rnds in all, but the instruction in each row ends with different numbers of turn. For example turn(84)in row 1;turn(96)in row 2;turn(102)in row 3, and etc. What do the numbers indicates in turns? I'm sorry for the question but I'm feeling frustrated. Thanks Again for your help.
Hi,thank you so much for the video that shows what it means to "turn" but I'm not sure if I understand the instruction given me in my book to make a baby gown. It says Row1:Ch 69,sc in 2nd ch from hook, single in each of the next 3 chs,(2 sc in next ch,sc in each of next 3 chs)across,turn(84). What does it means by TURN(84)? Thank You !
i will be posting an easier crochet chain turning video very soon btw(:

@amselby81 How are there no close ups? Try pausing At 1:01 for example. I'm a newbie and this has helped me a lot so you must just be an idiot!
P.S. She has another vid. search how to crochet and it tell you how to start the chain!

I think it makes more sense for the viewer to actually see from the crocheter's POV. This is somewhat useless.

@shella2bella
The # in the () means how many stiches you should have going across the row you just finished.
