  • Is this the live recording used on the singles cd?

  • Do or Die Best Murphys Album EVER

  • Dropkick Murphys make me so happy. :)

  • a response to a old comment when playing california I have heard them sing " i went out west to see swinging utters play" but on the cd and when they play the east coast they always sing " stiff little fingers play" in the song.

  • GET OOUUUT!

  • The greatest line up Dropkick has ever had! McColgan, Casey, Barton, and Kelly!

  • just how i remember it ten plus years ago...

  • good song-wery good :P

  • nacio para ser cantante de una banda punk

  • Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Mike McColgan <3

  • great bit of stuff this is about stff little fingers band from ireland tanx for putting this up was the next song caps and bottles

  • Do you have "Caps and Bottles" from this show?

  • I have a bunch of old videos of Caps & Bottles posted, check them out.

  • compared to now, mike looks fucking skinny, amazing what fire fighting an do for a person

  • yeah, what ever happened to the Dropkicks after Mike left for the high paying civil service job?

  • he left to be a Boston firefighter, now he's the lead singer of "street dogs"

  • Mike Mccolgan is the fuckin man!

  • Great song from their best album...makes me wanna kick some canadians, because they just knocked out sweden from the hockey ;)

  • Dropkick Murphys!!!!!!!!!!

  • the good ol' days...seein' street dogs 2nite!!!

  • Dropkick Murphys rocks!!!

  • Fantastic, is there any more footage around of McColgan with the Dropkicks?

  • Yes, I've got a bunch of McColgan-era DVD's, actually. Wish I had the show this video's from, but I don't. I also have the DVD of Al's first show with DKM, 7-17-1998 in Indianapolis, IN at Emerson Theatre :D

  • I've put up a few McColgan era videos.

  • I love this song wow its soo good makes me wanna fight LOL

  • where is this?

  • University of Idaho, of all places

  • such a great tribute song. I see all ya goin on about al barr, the bruisser, mike McClogan, but cha missin the point of the song! its about one the greatest punk/oi bands ever!

    Stiff Little fingers

  • Thank you

  • In the earliest version of this song, they sang "I went out west to see the Swingin' Utters play". The Utters were very influential on the early DKM's. They were, and are, a great band as well.

  • Sorry, but you are wrong. They say "the Stiff Little Fingers". Just listen, and if you have Do or Die, it will even say in the lyrics.

  • Sorry your wrong and I'm right. I know they say SLF on the record. I'm talking long before "Do Or Die". I don't write shit I don't know about.

  • I wouldn't even bother telling him he's wrong, Duke..I have never heard this version of the song he is talking about but I fuckin' believe him. And oh, I put your DVD's in the mail today, you should get 'em in a couple days. Let me know when you get them, Higgins!

  • @BlackHigginsClan How did that match with the lyrics about '77, Belfast and the bombs blowing (reference to the IRA and British oppression)? They must have re-written the whole song.

  • @Crazymike00 well i think that is about punk .... they sand : 77 pistols mae punk for me and you " .... an then " i can tell you they did not waste thier lives" or somthing like that . so for me is about staying punk couse punk is not just a phase

  • mike left to become a fire fighter it was his choice now he's back

  • Al Barr isn't even Irish. He's Scots/German.

  • I like these people who are saying fuck Al Barr. The guy was a legend long before Dropkick was a twinkle in Ken Casey's eye. That being said early Dropkick was amazing. I'll never forget having to take the train to Rock N' Roll in Philly to buy Boys on the Docks and the ducky boys split. As much as I loved the ep, 7 inches, and first full length. Dropkick's best stuff is 'Sing Loud, Sing Proud' and 'Blackout'.

  • I don't know about Blackout being their best stuff. I love some of the songs on there like Fields of Athenry (I'm a big Celtic FC fan) and Works Song but some of the other songs are just okay. Time To Go was great aswell as Kiss Me I'm Shitfaced. And Yeah the people that are saying "Fuck Al Barr" and "Street Dogs are great DKM sucks now" don't realize that Barr was in the fucking Bruisers with Johnny from the Street Dogs. Bruisers were legendary.

  • The Bruisers should be even more legendary now that DKM have taken off. I love Al with the Bruisers...I still think American Night is the greatest song ever written. But, DKM with Mike was just flat-out amazing and some of the best shows I have ever been to.

  • You're damn right.

  • i think everytihng they've done is great, except warrior's code only some shitty songs on it. i think dkm and street dogs are equal.

  • alright Mike is better than Al, and the first EPs are classic...but new dropkick fucking rules, Blackout and Sing Loud are argueably their best albums, the new one is really good....Im not a hater of any go DKM

  • almost every song on this album makes me want to fight

  • Thats cool, I still like to think I can hold back from kickin the shit outta somebody, but there is no guarantee.

This song got me so pumped when I first heard it.

  • Mike is way better than al Barr.

    Fuck al barr.

    GO STREET DOGS

  • i love the dropkick murphys i like barroom heros and frontseat

  • man this video is fucking awesome.

  • i wish they did alot more with this guy

  • Just realized, this is straight off of their singles collection.

  • Al Barr is the shit! And he also is the better singer!

  • Imagine if Mccolgan was on Gang's all here. Would have been crazy

  • Fucking awsome.

  • do or die was the best album! the newfrontman sux! and they´re getting softer and softer to each new album!

  • couldn't agree more Bain - the bruisers are ok - but the newer lineup blows

  • awesome i always wondered what McColgan would be like live

  • Man I love Al and all, but McColgan really was the soul behind DKM. Great vid! Still love their new stuff, although their latest album was a little awkward.

  • back then they were a totally different band with spicy, mccolgan, barton, etc....today's DKM still owns...look at what they did for Departed it's going to win Oscars

  • Amazing stuff, DKM and the Street Dogs are the best bands around. SUPPORT BOSTON PUNK!!!

  • back when dkm were good , seems like once mike mc colgan and rick barton left ,the band kinda went to shit.

  • He played this on the 1st night of the Street Dogs/ Bouncing Souls tour in Orlando, I almost shit my pants...wait...I DID shit my pants. Great footage.

  • thats the old singer right?? is an skn-head

  • ohh yea McColgan is the fucken best

  • Where in the hell did you get this? Great, thanks for posting!!

  • University of Idaho '96 Boston On The Road Tour.

DKM opening for Mighty Mighty Bosstones.

  • Thanks for this..loved it.
