I just proved to myself it works. A simple wooden measure stick 28-30 cm outward in light balance on my finger and it started to jerk left and right at points in my rooms. It's very physical, but it is a thought and body measurement tool you need to tune into.

Yes, you probably do get negative reactions from your mates at school, normally people that aren't informed in wicca or its past see this as evil. you can perform on your own. or a coven nearby your location.

I've had many good experiences with Wicca and i am happy continuing it. It has only helped, not complicated, sorry.
