  • Ripped off Pocahontas or not, Avatar is just too predictable and schematic, to make me wanna watch it again. Cheesy effects are good for wallpapers. But it's still a way better than that abomination Shyamalan made out of such good animated series...

  • Why didn't he just name his stupid movie "Pandora". =\

  • lol, mindfuck

  • HAHAHA I love it how people piss off something with such style!!!

  • they didn't rip-off'd pocahontas, they raped pocahontas

  • James cameron is weird ok first of all he copied avatar the last airbenders title and his movie avatar was horrible. Ok it was the topped grossed movie but it had no story the special effects just drew everyone

  • @hmian456 Actually, no he didn't. The word 'Avatar' has been in the English language for quite some time before Avatar: the last airbender or Avatar ever came out. ALSO, James Cameron had the Idea for his movie before he did Titanic!

  • @hmian456 what the hell? he didn't "copy" the title at all. what are you even talking about?! "avatar" just means artificial or graphic representation/substitute of a real person. thats what the avatars in camerons movie were. that doesn't have anything to do with the last airbender.

  • Benders > Blue people

  • I wish the movie wasn't called Avatar, because now I have to add "the last airbender" to my searches.

  • James Cameron's Avatar is a rip-off Pocahontas...and now this! I mean come on!

  • @multipurpose101 Oh, don't tell me you actually thought James Cameron had originality? He's a cinematic genius, yes. And he has many talents, but originality is not one of them.

  • @Kildiazar well i knew it was a rip-off of Pocahontas, Dances with Wolves, FernGully and Atlantis but I never thought it was a rip-off of the last airbender aside from the name

actually, that's how i heard of the movie -- from an episode of "The Last Puppetbender"

  • @Kildiazar I didn't. I knew it was a rip-off of FernGully, Atlantis, Dances with Wolves, Pocahontas, etc. But effects were great.

  • @multipurpose101

Don't forget Dune, Princess Mononoke, Fantastic Planet, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (aka Warriors of the Wind), Heavy Metal, Last of the Mohicans, Star Wars and Willow. Would you compare Avatar to those movies?

  • @Kildiazar The story itself didnt have to be original, the storyTELLING did (and btw, James Cameron wrote Avatar before Pocahontas was came out, so its not really a ripoff).

  • @MrEffectfilms

Cameron wrote Avatar in 1993 but didn't film it in 1994 and wanted it for a 1999 release but decided to hold it off and put the script in a drawer until technology does justice and Cameron had the idea for Avatar since 1988.

  • @MrEffectfilms

Indeed! it was his story since 1988 and wrote the script in 1993 but Cameron hadn't the technology to do it justice in the 90's and put the script in a drawer waiting for technology

  • @Kildiazar

Avatar was written before Pocahontas and this show! didn't you know that? god people are too lazy to do their research nowadays

  • @multipurpose101 Yeah, too many people act like Avatar is the first movie inspired by a Pocahontas-like story. I'm sorry, but Pocahontas has already been "ripped off," if that's what we're calling it, more than once before. Does anyone even remember Dances with Wolves? Oh yeah, that's the other movie people are saying Cameron ripped from. LOL.

Honestly, if you want to compare, Avatar is much more reminiscent (as a whole) to Ferngully.

  • @ImaginaryWings yup. knew that. also atlantis

  • @ImaginaryWings

And which is a superior movie? Ferngully or Avatar?

Would you also compare Avatar to Nausicaa, Princess Mononoke, Willow, Dune, Wizards, Fantastic Planet, Lightyears (Gandahar), Starchaser Legend of Orin, Heavy Metal, Last of the Mohicans, Star Wars, Star Trek movies, Castle in The Sky etc.?

  • @multipurpose101

Cameron WROTE Avatar in 1993 before Pocahontas, are people too lazy to bother to do their research nowadays? Cameron had the idea in 1988 and wrote an 80 page screenplay in 1993 before Disney's movie in 1995 and wanted a 1999 release date but Cameron put the script in a drawer waiting for technology to evolve and satisfy his vision then in 2005 after being impressed by LOTR's technology it was time to do his movie.

  • @multipurpose101

Wrong! Cameron had the idea and story since 1988, he wrote an 80 page script for Avatar in 1993 before Pocahontas was released in 1995 or this TV show and Cameron copyrighted the name Avatar in 1995, he wanted to film it in 97 for a 99 release date but he decided to hold it off for a decade and put the script in a drawer waiting for the technology to do it justice. Didn't you know that? people should do their research and always check

  • What no Koh!? :'(

  • *applaud* good job

  • haha I love it! :]

  • I love this!

    Perfection!!!

    0:59

Aang's got his "you've gotta be kidding me" look on.

  • That was amazing! and 'unobtainium' I just realized how lame that is. oh, camoran, your movie was good, but really?

    What a twist!

    ATLA FTW!

  • @ladyhart21

What is a better sounding name for metal? Adamantinum or Unobtanium?

  • Very well done!

  • jc was making his avatar 10 yrs ago so he didnt really steal the name

but atla is far better because the story is orginal and interesting jc just has flashy effects its a nice movie but atla is far better

  • @Slygluck101 Cameron didn't actually start working on Avatar until 2005, the same year Nick's Avatar was already out. So yeah, he kinda did.

  • this is awesome. do you have a link to the video the audio comes from?

  • niice xD i love how both "Avatar"s have someting in common. I heard so many good things about James Cameron's movie. I hope M night's movie can match ot possibly top JC's

  • Nickelodian's Animation made in Burbank is most likely going to be far more superior to the live action. Although, I won't pass judgement on it until I see it in person. I'm just sad that they had to get actors who were mostly Anglo-Saxon instead of Mixed-Race or full Asian. Sokka, & Katara in my opinion should've been of "Inuit, Eskimo, or Ainu" background. Aang could've been Mixed-Race Asian & Anglo.

  • Cool! Though I'm not really interested in seeing JC's Avatar, I still like this video!

Strange how ATLA clips can be mixed so fluidly with "Avatar" audio sound bytes...

If only JC would have just named it "Pandora" instead of "Avatar." I know some people who are still confused when I'm talking about ATLA as opposed to "Avatar." And my dad and I both noticed that the logo for JC's Avatar looks earily familiar to the main logo for ATLA....

  • Lots of people was confused bcuz of the James Cameron classic move "Title Stealer". They should just named their movie as "Pandora" arrgh

  • NEAT AND FUNNY

  • This isent the nick avatar. There is going to be a movie on it in sumnmer 2010.

  • Great Job! :D

  • Pretty cool^^

  • What a TWIST! :D

  • Hmm, I'm entirely sure I understand what you mean. Could you please explain more? I am interested in this idea of yours.

  • Sorry about that. What I meant was that I'm not entirely sure what you you mean. Do you mean get the trailer of JC's Avatar and match its audio to the footage of Avatar: The Last Airbender?

  • wow this is cool.

  • @Kildiazar

That is what he meant. Would you also compare Cameron's Avatar to Princess Mononoke, Last of the Mohicans, Dune, Star Wars, Heavy Metal, Wizards, Fantastic Planet, Transformers and Willow as well?
