I have a 2009 Limmited Black and Orange, never had it over 80mph glad u posted this vid. excited for summer to come along, just got some vance and hines put on and a PCommander III
I have a great 2008 M50 Limited Black & Yellow that I am selling in Cincy Ohio for a steal if anyone is interested I can PM them the craiglist or cycle trader ad I have for it. 20,500 miles on it and it has been maintained religiously. Was my work commuter then I got a 1000cc sport bike. Addicted to speed now.
I have a 2006 C50 with a mustang cruiser seat and highway pegs... I way around 225 and I can cruise 80 on it all day.. I ride 200 to 300 miles in a day every once in awhile with no problems.. I have a bad lower back so I had to get the mustang seat with the drive backrest... wow what a diffference.. great bike,,,,
I have a c50t and you can ride it all day long. I have a friend who put 88,000 miles on one riding two-up with his wife. Remember, these 1600-2000cc bikes are just a power race. That size motore is totally unnecessary for power or speed.
I got mine on a dyno- while attending school- numbers arent accurate as far as torque and hp goes- because of a slipping clutch (i ride my bike hard). But I got it up to 122 mph per the dyno. Mine is a 2007 m50 limited.
Hey, Im thinking about purchasing an M50. Just wanted to see how well they do on longer rides (4-5 hours). Is an 800cc engine enough power to carry a 200lb guy around and passing other cars at 80mph?
@sfc7267 I got an '07 m50 as a starter bike this year. The Harley dealer had her in the back of the lot for $3500 and I couldn't say no. She is great, but if you are a smaller person keep in mind shes a heavy mother at slow speed, although I got used to the weight pretty quickly.
mrolfe001, do you use a windshield for long rides? I find that when I do 250 miles+ on the highway at over 65mph, the wind gets to be very tiring. I prefer back roads every time.
@mrolfe001 I'm looking at buying a m50. My only concern is at 80mph (freeway speeds), are the rpms really high, does it sound like you are working the engine to hard so that you only go 80 to pass and you dont want to maintain that speed? or does it sound ok at 80?
hey im looking at buying a 2004 version of this bike. im riding a 2008 fz6 sporttouring bike, is the bike comparable to the power of that ? i started on a 03 vstar650, and that thing was a dog and i was bored with it the first summer i had it and sold the thing.
@jklux16 The power is different... 50 hp 50 ft lbs of torque... It can Wheelie and do over 120... but not gonna get there super fast... it is a cruiser.. but all and all and awesome bike
Its one hell of a bike. I just bought a 09 M50 special edition in orange/black. 6300bucks.Very quick bike, corners great, comfortable seat.Need better exhaust tho its too quiet for me. But its designed to run quieter stock
@xpsdonny28 not always true, if you start on a smaller bike you will bore real fast. it'll be a waist of money, i had a friend teach me on a 150 for about 2 hours, learned fast and went off and bought me a 1200. can't say i wasnt scared, but it was worth it. but hey, safety first i guess
@guitartech983 I would get something smaller for a starter bike. This has more power and is heavier than a brand new rider may want to ride on. This is definitely a great first bike though. Way better than a Shadow or V-Star. After a couple years of riding mine, I still have no desire for anything larger.
That's cool... I have put around 12k miles on mine since i bought it.. I love everything about it.. I put the 3" Road Burner exhaust on it.. it sounds great.. despite the audio.. I just got back from riding it down to Florida.. It was awesome the whole way (bout 1k miles)
I wasn't talking about a 2009. I bought mine (05) two years old for $6500. 1985-2007 all had about the same power. A new 07 Vmax had a sticker of aroud $11,000. I think the new 09 is overpriced. Anyways the m50 is a good entry level bike.
@asrlb45 Wow. Insecure much? Well I can do you one better than that. My BMW has over 300 HP and I still get the wind in my hair when I drop the top. AND I don't have a need of a helmet for safety. Oh, wait... That isn't really the same thing either. I don't drive an M3 Convertible anyway, but when you are just running your mouth and trying to look important, then it doesn't really matter if it is true, does it?

1ST Bike Yes. Starter bike, no. Learn on a 200 or 250. Then move up.

TO ASRLB 45 : by the way v-max is a drag bike and has shitty balance while cornering with full tank! hehe
kainepoiss 3 years ago
the audio is awefull what did you film this with your mobile phone?
I suppose at that speed anything would sound crap on an open bike like the M50 :)
xgenerator 3 years ago
Yep, I hate that it sounds like that... But I have not found how to turn the EnV mic off
mrolfe001 3 years ago
Well i got my Bike about a week later after that post and you cant get me off it :)
already thinking how i can make it sound better.
One thing that bugs me is that the gearing keeps the RPM high at 100KMH good though because you have power on tap :)

Pualbabuik, My Vmax comes with 1200cc and 4 carbs.

Hazmat0357 4 years ago
it's a fuel injection device that pretty much is like a tune up for your bike. It just makes it run better all around.
whiskeywilliams 4 years ago
is it extra? how much?
Hazmat0357 4 years ago
uhh, depends, some can get pretty expensive (PCIIIaround $300 i think) The one I'm about to get is the Fi2000r and it's about $180
