@michieldombrecht Many of those places we pick up at are ragged and the people there don't care, or don't know what they're doing, or maybe he's drunk!!
Ficel does pay good, but it just took up too much of my time to earn it. something like 18+ hrs a day is do-able, but then to cut into the weekend... that was to much for me. If its just money you want though, its a pretty good place. The company I was leaving in the video's mirror shot was Janco Steel in Stoney Creek, real close to Taylor Steel.
My dad is a local hamilton steel hauler. In the summer time I like to ride with him,it's an interesting job. 2 questions I would like to ask you. Does Ficel transport pay well? Was that Taylor steel from the camera on the mirror shot?
When i load vertical coils, after putting 4 chains through the middle and tying it down. One of the first things to remember as a truck driver is to drive as though you have no brakes on the truck. Steady times 10. Steady is what keeps a seasoned truck driver alive after 33+ years on the road. Coils are some of the most dangerous freight a driver can haul. Simply because of the concentrated weight of the coil being in one spot on the trailer. If it should fall off, you have a large problem.
Always put your binders on the rear of the coil! If the coil ever slides forward, it will jam against them, and will make for a long day! Four chains through the eye, two criss crossed. A Large strap over the top!
lol , why does he hit your truck with that coil ?

@kanukster No, those coils weren't 45K, I think I had 3 or 4 of them and they were like 20,000 or so
