  • why have i not heard this before??! Oh wow...hehe! Geeez...thank Youuuu! xx Much love & thanks Peace & blessings ~ "Jenny"

  • Reeling from separation and child a friend put on a demo by some brilliant London band of this song. I could never find it again. But as it played through my mind I thought: who did this? How can this be so deep and yet be so unknown?

Then I discovered 14 years later it was Hank.

  • @mingulay29 I wonder how many songs Hank Williams actually wrote? Counting ones that he threw in a drawer and forgot about or was saving for a later time, or thinking that they weren't nothin'....That may have been #one, or at least sold well had he lived to put them out...((maybey that's what's happened to todays music, They ran outta Hank Williams songs, and had to come up with they're own material!!!hahaha)))

  • Art is a strong reflection of life. Hank was a true artist.

  • i listen to hank williams on a daily basis... im thirteen. the whole world has not moved on. screw all that new country shit and the pop music where all you here is party this and that. screw eminem and lil wayne=... music is going downhill, so lets try to preserve the greatness of musics past

  • I remember been in Winnie,Texas by 1974,and heard and dance this music,I got a girlfriend tha problem was she was older then me,16 years older, and married with kids ,but she loved me so much so I did it ,I was close to 19 .. was a good time.

  • @gaguilar1954 are you saying yal commited adultery?

  • guy is ownage!

  • I'm a little ove the age to keep count. So you youngsters keep on listenin to the good stuff and kick those old new fangled country want to be's off your porch!!

  • @TheStrazy amen to that, and never worry about anybody forgetting about Hank, none better. he will always find a way back to the ears of those who seek out true country music.

  • No idea why people keep saying there ages then saying how much they love Hank Williams. Whats it matter how old you are?

Hes an amazing singer and I have not yet found a song hes done I didnt like.

    BTW Im 18.

  • @justtrust5 I think that is the sweetest thing ever... I'm glad you are proud of it! You should be! It's great music and it's part of who you are and it's beautiful : )

  • How many men sat drinking at a bar listening to this and sitting in their pity and not getting on with life?

  • @majorl311 Many men sat at bars listening to his music, but you are gifted, never had a loss, never had a death in the family, you are one lucky man. And I'll bet you never did without, something tells me you never went outside to P, no running water, you never had to wear hand me down clothes, you never had to walk to school, .. you never had a callous on your hand (well maybe some, not from labor or work, hmm:) That's why you can't understand or appreciate Hank's music, I feel sorry for you.

  • @91fatboy51 I grew up on the farm, not a rich farm but a poor farm i drive a concrete truck for a living and worked hard all my life,I'm 62 now and have all the aches and pains of all the work I have done, had broken relationship and baby born still born many deaths in my family,I understand why people drink I just chose not to!

  • amen to that. im am only 21, but i grew up listening to hank, roy acuff, johnny horton, bill monroe and many others. age dont mean a damn when when it comes to music. music is eternal

  • good stuff

  • Great song from Hank, he is COUNTRY!!

  • Fantastic job by Hank! Thanks for sharing.

  • I <3 Hank

  • looks like he had a broken string or something wrong with the picture but you cant stop in the middle of a song and put a string on

  • my daddy played alot of hank after my mama left him. i remember him drinkin and playing hank, but not understanding it. then one day i was going through arkansas and heard ole hank on the radio, and it hit me. just like that man, you cant beat hank. there was one hank and now hes gone, but his music is still with us

  • hell youdont have to be young to love this. i was born way after hank died but this stuff has such soul not like the crap they play today on the "country" radio stations

  • hank williams sr has helped me through every breakup i have ever had. excellent songwriting expressing feelings that are timeless and easy to relate to. i feel personally connected to him when i listen to his music. its amazing feel someone who was long passed away has felt your heartache and can speak to you through their recordings. rip hank. thank you.

  • @Opportunities423 Hey Opp. I once heard Don Helms say, that "no matter how down you are, or what mood you're in, you put on a Hank Williams record and you'll soon feel good" Truer words have never been spoken.

  • Good music is timeless. I listen to what I like regardless if or not it's the(in)thing. I'll never ditch this kind of country, just because someone says it's old or out of date!!! In fact the words still ring true in a lot of peoples lives today!!! Life isn't always good and bright and colorful, it is sometime dark gloomy and hard!!!

  • im 65 and to me hank williams is the king there will never be anyone that can take it away from him he's the greatest that ever was.

  • Is this a dub? If not what album is it from? I've only heard the demo version in the Hank Williams Singles collection disk set where it's just him and his guitar (epic version tho :D )

  • @vondra45smith Spammer!!

  • hank williams is an american institutional inspiration to all musicians and fans alike.

  • Hank Williams is the greatest singer and song writer in this century.I can remember him and he was special, very special.

  • Respond to this video... i am sorry to tell ya but hank williams really oded.

  • @ SchmoozeMinkey...Minnie Pear was not present when Hank died. Hank did not die in an accident, he died of cardiac arrest in the back of his Cadillac while being driven to a show.

  • His last words to Minnie Pearl just before the accident and after he sang "I Saw The Light" were, "That's just the trouble. There ain't no light." He was so wrong.

  • Thanks for everything Mr. Williams. I know your down by the river, cane pole in the mud singin gospel songs with your momma. The world aint the same without ya

  • Love it!! Old Hank could sure tell you about life.He was a very sad man. He wanted to sing, but he hated being a celebrity.

  • Hank's music will never die....he is the greatest country singer that ever lived.

  • Listend to hank all my life Justtrust5 aint no shame to listen to the real country!Like jr said your the only one that you are screwing when you put doun what you dont understand,Be proud of it no matter what genre you listen to!!!

  • hanks words are so real. anyone whos tried to get over a broken heart can can understand...so thats everyone.

    KING INDEED

  • Hank Williams died in 1952 of alcoholism.

  • @1maryjean Hank was born with spinal bifida that caused him intense pain, and as a result he used alcohol to get relief. Today, he would have surgery to correct the deformity, but sadly, this was not available back then for him. As a result he died at 29.

  • i am 31 and was raised listening to the old style of country music and as far as i am concerned u can give me the old music anytime

  • hank is the best

  • @13meganc check out hank williams and burl ives singing cool water its a fake duet i put together if you like hank i think you will like it

  • Excellent! Thanks for sharing! Great job Hank.

  • im 21 years old, and love hanks music. My grandmother who was in rodeo used to tell me he was the real country. If it wasnt for her I wouldnt like his music.

RIP HANK WILLIAMS!.... to be so young when he died at 29 years of age.... His music will live on for a very long time

  • Im 13 and i love hank none of this new junk even compares

  • i remember when iwas a boy sitting in the kitchen listen to Hank on the radio, this brings back so many memories, no better songs ever written

  • Hank is the true king of country music! He has never had a bad song, and the original honky-tonk style is better than pop-country crap on the radio today. Thanx fur sharin'!

  • i grew up on Hanks music and still not tired of it i like all of his songs and always will

  • to the young fellow justrust5, your family must be very proud of you, your already a hard working man who has good taste in music, who cares what others think, keep up the good work and continue to be proud of yourself : )

  • them people make fun of you dont know know better you sound like a good kid to me i proud of you to kid

  • I love this overdubbed version. These are so hard to find! Many thanks for posting!

  • I love Hank's songs. Brings back so many memories; some happy some sad, some with a sweet sorrowful feeling. Thanks for posting

  • No one could sing better a sad love song than Hank. With him you feel it comes straight from his heart.

  • theres only one you know . hank .that is . jonny mount .north east .england .

  • So true.

  • how have i never heard this one...!!

  • hehehe those are definitely not my times but nice song :P

  • nothings better than ole hank

  • my grandaddy used to shoot heroin with hank,, true story

  • Thanks for posting all these Hank Williams' oldies...they are the best!

  • this music makes me feel so melon-colly...can't spell it...but that 's how it make me feel...i miss those days...i'm margarita...not jack.

  • I wonder how many people remember the gold old days...when you had respect for your parents, and people...i hope those days arn't lost....but I have to wonder...i thing they are lost

  • Hank sure did know how to sing a sad song

  • It's nice to hear the old songs from childhood Thank you

  • Hank Williams was, and is, the greatest country music singer that ever was. This was called Hillbilly Music and is the best ever. Give me the good old hillbilly music always.

  • I would like to add Most of my music I listen to is either Hank Sr Or Jr But lately is bluegrass by Alecia Nugent or Rhonda Vincent But Hank Sr Will always Be a Favorite..Heard this music from child hood I am now 45 and My Father loves his music as well and can sing it too. I do remember this very well...

  • just when I think I have heard all his songs this pops up,which just goes to prove that no how how many songs he wrote. Hank Williams Sr is such a unique artist that it is impossible to measure his contribution to music as his songs can be sung by anyone and still be relevant no matter what!

  • my daddy used ta listen ta hank sr all the time after my mama left him. at that time i hated hank and cuntry. then one day i was goin to arkansas ta pick up a truck, and tha man i was ridin with put on some ole hank. tha music that i hated for nearly 13 years is now tha only music i listen to. lets all keep REAL cuntry alive.

  • My uncle turned me onto Hank Sr at the age of about 19. I had condemned "Country Music" at that time because all I knew of it was SWANGIN and Baby's got her blue jeans on, other "Pop country" shit like Billy ray suckus. I heard this and it was like, just a minute here, this is more real than any Rock or Punk I've ever heard then I got into Marty Robbins, and well OLC to the day.

  • Man, you are saved!!! You give us oldsters hope for the younger generation!!

  • i like hank williams cause its real country i listen to it with my grandfather and im only 12. some people make fun of me cause i work in the feilds to help my family make a living but im proud of it

  • nevermind how old you are.i'm too

actually pretty young to listen Hank -

    I'm 21.but Hank is the best ever.and

age is not reason to not listen him.

    he was a real master.

  • @Pentagonshark666 yeah man, i'm 22, but i also listen to hank williams, and i also just went and seen hank iii a couple days ago and got to meet him, it's awesome!!!, i'm a metalhead but i can also enjoy the old goods such as hank and cash. who cares what people think, they don't know shit!

  • @Pentagonshark666 Pretty young, but I got you beat on that one. I'm 16 years old my friend. But today's country music isn't true country. The first day I heard Hank Williams I realized what true country was and I have never listened to one piece of music that was better than hank. There is not one song of his that isn't absolutely great.

  • @Pentagonshark666 Yeah. Let's not forget 2 though that the man we are listening to is always no older than 27. It's just that the recordings are old, and that bothers a lot of people. We live in the age where old is thrown out, and only brand spanking new is accepted.

  • @Pentagonshark666 damn straight brother! im 18 and i love listening to this!

  • @Pentagonshark666 Old Hank will never be replaced

  • Those people making fun of you have no soul, Trust me I'm a fairly successful musician that grew up in the fields Buckin' Hay, Cuttin strippin tobacco and breakin beans on the porch with my mother.I'm proud of ya for taking pride in yourself and I don't even know who ya are!

  • Young feller, don't you ever be ashamed of working in the fields for a living. That is one of the most honorable professions you can have. The people that make fun of you would also cry and complain if there wasn't any food in the stores. I used to sing Hanks songs when I was out by myself on the tractor or taking care of cattle. Some of the best times of my life. Stay pure, honest, and simple!

  • @justtrust5 boy you are a example to be followed.i grew up real hard poor as the dirt on my hands from working in the tobacco fields and cutting pulp wood to help my daddy when i was a youngun.you dont listen to fools and you will go far in life and reflect on those times as a point in life where you was a man even as a boy ole hank made music for folks like us boy i'm proud of you and dont even know you

  • @justtrust5 Good for you! People need to keep REAL country music alive, before Trashville can kill it completely.

  • @justtrust5 your gonna be a good disciplined working man when you grow up. congrats on working the fields. Im only 16 and i would never make fun of you for that. those kids that are making fun of you now won't be anymore when you have a good job and they can't get one cuz they don't wanna work

  • @justtrust5 Keep on being proud and keep on listening real music :)

  • @justtrust5 Bravo, Kid. These are timeless American songs.

  • @justtrust5 I been listenin to these same songs since I was about 9. Im 40 now and these songs have never got old to me. Be proud of your people and your ways cause that is truly all we have in this life. GOD BLESS.

  • @justtrust5 You should be about 13 or 14 now. To hell with those who joke on you. Real men and women do what they have to do to help their family. Im the coldest winter when everything shuts down these pussies in the city will freeze to death and we in the hills will survive. Like Hank Jr said country boys/girls can survive

  • @justtrust5 at boy kid, keep up the American way there is nothing to be ashamed of. I've been doing it for twenty years.

  • @justtrust5 And I'm proud OF you

  • @justtrust5 I'm 39 and my friends hate that I love classic country! Live it brother!

  • @justtrust5 I'm 39 and my friends hate that I love classic country! Live it brother!

  • @justtrust5 hell yea

  • @justtrust5 thats the truth.

  • @justtrust5 Hey bud, the ones who give you a hard time are the ones that will not make anything of themselves. You are a dying breed that has great taste in music also contributing to Society. Farming is great nonetheless. R.I.P. hamk Williams Sr.

  • @justtrust5 you be proud son.i helped my dad unload freight cars of fruit on sundays back in the late 60's early 70's.it wore my backout far too early in life.now his company sits on the 50 yard line of the bengals stadium,cinci,oh.....life goes on.....key up ` rain on the scarecrow' john cougar melloncamp..if you ever pass this way again..hee hee...just be yourself young fellow

  • @justtrust5 My grandpa and I used to listen to this stuff all the time when I was a kid. He made me work too. You should be proud of it! Today is my granpas funeral. I miss him greatly. So cherish the time you spend with your grandpa. I'm sure he is a great man. My grandpa used to call it real counrty too :)

  • truly a great singer, he looks pissed in that first photo

  • Today, i bought a box set of hank, which has all his number one's, this song, and many popular top tens by him. I'm so glad I found it, I paid just twenty dollars for it.

I think Youtube, and this new box has all I need of Hank.

So MGM can kiss my butt, I won't bying the "Complete" Hank Willams for $200 any time soon. LOL! thanks for posting though! : )

  • hanks been dead for more than 50 years, and he stil has us listening to his music, im only 19 and i can sing along with a lot of his songs.

  • damn right. im sixteen and i love this good ole music. i know the words to just about every hank song lol

  • i unno about all his songs, he has A LOT Of songs, that i am still finding

  • I always wonder why people say "i'm only such age or the other and still listen to this." I mean, why does it matter how old you are?

  • im the only17year old kid i knwo that listens to country and country and western. and im proud to say i can sing hank and all the boy's back in the day

  • Salute

  • The irony is that Hank's funeral was the biggest the South had seen since Jefferson Davis the President of the Confederacy. Yet Hank was taught to sing by a black man in Alabama. The pain of the Southern experience both white and black is what made him so popular. Remember the South was basically a police state, there was a reason why even Elvis said yes sir, no sir when do I come down sir.

  • Then reason we say yes sir and no sir is because our parents taught us to be respectful.

  • I think what made Hank a Great Singer was his Accent...

  • Yea Hank is a great singer, he is my favorite singer but I cant tell he has an accent cause Im from the United States and I talk the same way.

  • Hank was a musician who put his whole soul into his music.hes music is incomparable. If we compare Elvis version of Cold,Cold heart(featuring Jerry Lee Lewis)its a good song.but if we analyse Hanks version we can see that music was his passion.he has been 56 years died for now.he died along time. most of youtube users are not so old that they remember the days when Hanks was no.1 in radios.Hanks life was very sad so dont we say what was wrong or right what he made. hes a true LEGEND.
  • A heart breaking song here.5*****'s.Thank you for posting and thank you J.T. for sending.

    Shirley

  • Just want to say thank you for posting this!

    5*****`S

  • I love this song ;) do you or everyone know the biography movie to hank williams sr. " the show he never gave" , at the end of the film, the doctor gave him a shot and then hank died. was hank sr. killed by this doctor ???

  • The shot the "doctor" (unlicensed druggist) gave Hank contained what is known as morphine and B12. Hank died from a morphine and alcohol overdose. The combination of severe spinal problems (resulting in a reliance on morphine), his enjoyment of alcohol, and the ignorance of an untrained doctor led to his death.

  • Yes thats true. But if that doctor hadnt put in that morphine hank would have gotten up next morning with a hangover and wouldnt have keeled on over DEAD.

  • Perfect is all that can be said Just perfect

  • Talk about putting your whole soul in your music..

  • Hank williams.....Jim reeves and Elvis presley......legends

  • Very moving. He was a real poet.

  • Good One - *****'s

  • love hank he was the best 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 stars and more !********
