Reeling from separation and child a friend put on a demo by some brilliant London band of this song. I could never find it again. But as it played through my mind I thought: who did this? How can this be so deep and yet be so unknown?
@mingulay29 I wonder how many songs Hank Williams actually wrote? Counting ones that he threw in a drawer and forgot about or was saving for a later time, or thinking that they weren't nothin'....That may have been #one, or at least sold well had he lived to put them out...((maybey that's what's happened to todays music, They ran outta Hank Williams songs, and had to come up with they're own material!!!hahaha)))

Those people making fun of you have no soul, Trust me I'm a fairly successful musician that grew up in the fields Buckin' Hay, Cuttin strippin tobacco and breakin beans on the porch with my mother.I'm proud of ya for taking pride in yourself and I don't even know who ya are!

Young feller, don't you ever be ashamed of working in the fields for a living. That is one of the most honorable professions you can have. The people that make fun of you would also cry and complain if there wasn't any food in the stores. I used to sing Hanks songs when I was out by myself on the tractor or taking care of cattle. Some of the best times of my life. Stay pure, honest, and simple!
@justtrust5 boy you are a example to be followed.i grew up real hard poor as the dirt on my hands from working in the tobacco fields and cutting pulp wood to help my daddy when i was a youngun.you dont listen to fools and you will go far in life and reflect on those times as a point in life where you was a man even as a boy ole hank made music for folks like us boy i'm proud of you and dont even know you
@justtrust5 your gonna be a good disciplined working man when you grow up. congrats on working the fields. Im only 16 and i would never make fun of you for that. those kids that are making fun of you now won't be anymore when you have a good job and they can't get one cuz they don't wanna work
@justtrust5 I been listenin to these same songs since I was about 9. Im 40 now and these songs have never got old to me. Be proud of your people and your ways cause that is truly all we have in this life. GOD BLESS.
@justtrust5 You should be about 13 or 14 now. To hell with those who joke on you. Real men and women do what they have to do to help their family. Im the coldest winter when everything shuts down these pussies in the city will freeze to death and we in the hills will survive. Like Hank Jr said country boys/girls can survive
@justtrust5 Hey bud, the ones who give you a hard time are the ones that will not make anything of themselves. You are a dying breed that has great taste in music also contributing to Society. Farming is great nonetheless. R.I.P. hamk Williams Sr.
@justtrust5 you be proud son.i helped my dad unload freight cars of fruit on sundays back in the late 60's early 70's.it wore my backout far too early in life.now his company sits on the 50 yard line of the bengals stadium,cinci,oh.....life goes on.....key up ` rain on the scarecrow' john cougar melloncamp..if you ever pass this way again..hee hee...just be yourself young fellow
@justtrust5 My grandpa and I used to listen to this stuff all the time when I was a kid. He made me work too. You should be proud of it! Today is my granpas funeral. I miss him greatly. So cherish the time you spend with your grandpa. I'm sure he is a great man. My grandpa used to call it real counrty too :)
Today, i bought a box set of hank, which has all his number one's, this song, and many popular top tens by him. I'm so glad I found it, I paid just twenty dollars for it.
I think Youtube, and this new box has all I need of Hank.
So MGM can kiss my butt, I won't bying the "Complete" Hank Willams for $200 any time soon. LOL! thanks for posting though! : )
im the only17year old kid i knwo that listens to country and country and western. and im proud to say i can sing hank and all the boy's back in the day
The irony is that Hank's funeral was the biggest the South had seen since Jefferson Davis the President of the Confederacy. Yet Hank was taught to sing by a black man in Alabama. The pain of the Southern experience both white and black is what made him so popular. Remember the South was basically a police state, there was a reason why even Elvis said yes sir, no sir when do I come down sir.
Hank was a musician who put his whole soul into his music.hes music is incomparable. If we compare Elvis version of Cold,Cold heart(featuring Jerry Lee Lewis)its a good song.but if we analyse Hanks version we can see that music was his passion.he has been 56 years died for now.he died along time. most of youtube users are not so old that they remember the days when Hanks was no.1 in radios.Hanks life was very sad so dont we say what was wrong or right what he made. hes a true LEGEND.
I love this song ;) do you or everyone know the biography movie to hank williams sr. " the show he never gave" , at the end of the film, the doctor gave him a shot and then hank died. was hank sr. killed by this doctor ???
The shot the "doctor" (unlicensed druggist) gave Hank contained what is known as morphine and B12. Hank died from a morphine and alcohol overdose. The combination of severe spinal problems (resulting in a reliance on morphine), his enjoyment of alcohol, and the ignorance of an untrained doctor led to his death.
Yes thats true. But if that doctor hadnt put in that morphine hank would have gotten up next morning with a hangover and wouldnt have keeled on over DEAD.
why have i not heard this before??! Oh wow...hehe! Geeez...thank Youuuu! xx Much love & thanks Peace & blessings ~ "Jenny"

@justtrust5 Good for you! People need to keep REAL country music alive, before Trashville can kill it completely.

The irony is that Hank's funeral was the biggest the South had seen since Jefferson Davis the President of the Confederacy. Yet Hank was taught to sing by a black man in Alabama. The pain of the Southern experience both white and black is what made him so popular. Remember the South was basically a police state, there was a reason why even Elvis said yes sir, no sir when do I come down sir.
heyzog 3 years ago 5
Then reason we say yes sir and no sir is because our parents taught us to be respectful.

I think what made Hank a Great Singer was his Accent...

I love this song ;) do you or everyone know the biography movie to hank williams sr. " the show he never gave" , at the end of the film, the doctor gave him a shot and then hank died. was hank sr. killed by this doctor ???
hankwilliamsgirl 3 years ago 6
The shot the "doctor" (unlicensed druggist) gave Hank contained what is known as morphine and B12. Hank died from a morphine and alcohol overdose. The combination of severe spinal problems (resulting in a reliance on morphine), his enjoyment of alcohol, and the ignorance of an untrained doctor led to his death.
FATWONTON 3 years ago 4
Yes thats true. But if that doctor hadnt put in that morphine hank would have gotten up next morning with a hangover and wouldnt have keeled on over DEAD.
