  • The first 7 seconds of this video represent all there is to know about being a leafs fan

  • Sjostrom- NOW ON THE RANGERS!

  • let me just say this - since i have be a leaf fan, the best goalie i have ever seen in a leafs' jersey, is Vesa Toskala...he would have stats close to Brodeur's if the team's performance in front of him was better

  • maybe in your oppinion but

REALLY the best goalie was, oh everybody knows his feared name: 2 words, Cu-Jo. the name frightnens all the scorers, maybe in the whole league, he was the best, and way better than toskala. toskala is from some Tampere city [i have the right to say something about this man cause im half-finnish half-canadien]. think about cu-jo.

  • Belfour baby! I realize this is a year late but...the best goalie I've ever seen in a Leafs uni was Ed Belfour (except for that last season).

I'd also put the cat on the list, but the problem is it was in the early 90s, and to be perfectly honest...I barely remember ever seeing him :P

  • Zb-zb-z-Dave Michalek, nice. Zbynek is the name, I think you know that already.

  • lol thanks

  • i agree,

    awesome videos..

    i love them all =)

  • i live in phoenix and i am a big leafs fan. i was so pumped for the leafs to finally come to phoenix for like 3 months. i went to the game and i could care less that they lost by 4.

    go leafs go!

  • I love having viewers in the states! It's funny to me that these have caught on to a minor extent. The first video is 16 seconds long haha. Phoenix has a talent for screwing the Leafs (05/06 when the Leafs gave up a 3 goal lead and missed the playoffs by a single point)

  • you got good videos i enjoy watching them

  • yea seriously, SOMEONE CAN JFJ AND END THIS CIRCUS. its ridiculous.. like, whats happening? you think if you pick up blake and vesa, adding them with sundin, kaberle, etc., your team's record wouldn't be 8-11-5 after 24 games. oh well, at least they're showin some consistency.. loss after loss. but really, come on toronto!!

  • Anyone else hear about JFJ allegedly tried to fire Paul Maurice but MLSE didn't allow it?

Mind you I'm getting this information from Rogers Sportsnet so I'm not sure how accurate it is. Just surfaced today and I'm just wondering if anyone else heard about this?

  • I don't put it past Fergie. The heat was on him 2 years ago, he fired Quinn, who I thought wasn't the reason the Leafs were struggling. The problem was poor defensive forwards, as it is today amongst other things.

My friend at the Fan told me Blake and Gill scrapped during practice. Not a FIGHT, the difference in height is almost a foot. But that's a clear sign of something. I hope they lose the next 2 so something happens. It'll hurt to see them lose, but it's for their own good.

  • Same, my buddy who is a Habs fan was just asking me how much I wanted to wager on tomorrow nights game. I told him I wasn't gonna bet because I'm almost wanting them to lose until something's done. It's like kicking your 25 yr old daughter/son out of the house, it hurts but it has to be done for their own good.

  • I'd rather kick out the 27-year-old (Woz)

  • Sounds like Tanenbaum wants Fergie gone, but Pedie wants him to stay. Pedie has all the power, so I'm not sure we will be able to rid ourselves of Fergie just yet...

I like Maurice, he is a good coach.

  • Hahaha I second that. The Leafs need a good hockey mind as GM, not sure who's out there but I'm sure theres more than enough of em. They'll hire the same firm they did to get Bryan Colangelo for the Raps like they did in the Summer to get Ferguson a helper.

  • Scotty Bowman's name keeps coming up. But he wants Fergie, and all his minions gone before he even sets foot in the ACC. Tanenbaum will go for it, but Pedie is a stubborn prick who has the teachers union behind him.

Ken Holland is another guy that would be awesome. Steve Yzerman is set to take his place in Detroit, so a move to the east might not be out of the question.

Either one of these guy's would make a huge difference in the Leafs credibility as a competitive NHL team.

  • Personally, I don't think anybody that's been rumored will end up getting the job. Haorld Ballard had the chance to nab Bowman as GM and Cherry as coach after Cherry's last game in Boston. Not saying he holds a grudge, but it would've been nice to have him a few decades ago. The Ballard Curse continues...

  • Unfortunately, another name that keeps coming up is Glenn Healy. In short, another rookie GM.

The name "Harold Ballard", makes me feel ill.

  • LOL.

omg your impression of the typical leaf fan blaming the goalie was on.

Comments here are like "need new goalie."

    uh huh....

Anyways speaking of good goalies the leafs had how come you forgot felix that cat?

    Potvin was damn good.

  • Well I didn't mention him THIS time, but I've mentioned in past videos he's my all-time fav. I dropped $130 a couple weeks ago on a jersey to get it autographed by him. See vids 17 and 18 i think.

  • Raycroft was pathetic. The defense was awful. The offense was non-existant. How many more of these before heads role? (John Ferguson jr' head hopefully)

  • The next few days or week should be interesting. Richard Peddie likes Fergie, and we don't. It would SEEM (not saying it's true) that they don't like Maurice, but we do. In fact, for a team that sucks so bad, he's absurdly popular. In the end, $5 says they just make a mesely move like signing Travos Green to shut the city up for a while.

  • looks like toronto needs a new goalie.

  • HELL no. How? With what resources? We have few tradable players, and two multimillion dollar goalies. Don Cherry floated the idea of calling up Clemmensen because "he's 30 and has nothing to lose." I'd try that if anything. Probably wouldn't do much, if anything though.

  • may be boston would trade back tuukka for a bag of hammers not

  • any one think we are going to lose the next game

  • I kind of hope they do, because it could be the straw that finally breaks the camel's back in terms of making changes. Because you know if they win, the upper management may say "See?" even if it's just one game.

  • i see what you are saying there good point

  • A friend and mine were talking abotu Richard Peddie. I said, "Well you don't need to be a genius to sell hockey in Toronto. Anybody could make money with this team." and my friend said, "Yeah, but I wouldn't have thought to sell Maple Leafs CONDOMINUMS. Once the Leafs lose money, which will never happen, then they'll change. They so desperately need "hockey knowledge" in the upper management (ie ex players, managers with experience)

  • I blame Raycroft's mustache

  • Ahaha It's funny because a friend and I were just saying how dirty his stache looks. He's the new Jim Carey. Not the actor; the goalie. 1995-ish. Look him up.

  • Yeah I remember that guy, had one good year and won the Vezina I believe. Then vanished.

  • I'm seeing a similarity here...haha. And now who GENUINELY needs a goalie? Or a backup for the matter? The list is small, if existant at all, The Coyotes? Taken care of. Flyers? Fine. Thrashers? Once Lehtonen's back they have a decent tandem. L.A.? LaBarbera's finally shining and Bernier's the future. Columbus? LeCliare leads the league in shutouts and Norenna's pretty decent. Basically what I'm trying to say is, to all the leafs fans saying "just trade him" - Good frigging luck.

  • Dude I have assignments. I'll pst a new video Tuesday lol

  • many thanks

  • ugh I hate the R word. I don't use the flag when watching hockey. Truthfully, the 2 characters seem to work well together from the first fan reaction. it's 16 seconds long but it gets the point across. And the guy without the hat is just me. That you would call him the smart one is amusing to me :)

  • Well they haven't won since I bought it...listen, those flags are 8 bucks. FOR* my wallet's sake, the flag's fine.

  • "Zbyn--zbyn---zbyn...Dave Michalek"

    Sweet...

  • I know how to say it, but why do that?

  • Sundin's probably the best Swedish player after Forsberg to come into the NHL in the last 20 or so years. He deserves a cup to clinch a hall of fame induction and I don't think its possible with the leafs at least not this year so tradng him to a cup contender (not the Ducks) would, I think be good for him he's already a leaf legend and don't get me wrong I love the guy it'sjust look at the leafs the best thing we can hope for is a high draft pick

  • Personally I'd hate to see Sundin leave the Leafs, but if they're outta of it near the trade deadline I can't say I'd be against trading him to a cup contender for a high draft pick or two, or a top prospect. The man deserves a shot at the cup.

  • Yes, but I think he has a no trade clause if I'm correct. That, and he's said he has no interest to win a cup anywhere but Toronto. Unless something drastic changes in his relationship with the city and/or organization, or it's confirmed he'll be a Leaf the following season, he'll never be traded.

  • the way we are playing right now we are not going to make the playoffs again we have to improve NOW!!

  • Agreed. Here's why:

Say the Leafs are in 13th in the east whe nthe trade deadline rolls around and the Leafs are OBVIOUS sellers. Do we really want JFJ Jr. in charge of that? Trading away Sundin for the Ducks' 5th round pick? I don't bloody think so.

  • Highest paid defensive unit in the league, also most goals allowed, doesn't add up. Fire JFJ.

  • Straight up.

  • Not to brag but i know the sens VERY WELL.I always call WHEN and WHY theyll win and lose in the playoffs, BEFORE each round starts. This year they can win it if they stay focused, click, and SPLIT THE big FOUR.Thats right,4! Not 3! 4! Fisher is a 30+ goal scorer. SO! Line1 HEATLEY,SPEZZA. Line 2 Fisher,ALFIE.

In jan ill start my mind numbing, analysis of my favourite team.Ill post it on youtube this time. Ill have all the games recorded. And ill disect their play minute by minute.

  • If you have the time, go for it. The Sens look tough to beat, but you gotta look at Carolina and marvel at them too. Nobody else, maybe Detroit, stands out to me right now.

  • Oh the sens can look as tough as they want.

but if they dont click, split the lines and play with grit and determination like last year, they can lose in the 1st or 2nd round.

They have to play well, not just roll through and then get to the finals and lose.

  • As for flyers vs sens playoffs, the sens were a smaller team with less weapons last time they played, the sens still smoked them on the scoreboard and didnt back down from the flyers agression. One thing THAT THE LEAFS TAUGHT THE SENS its "size matters come playoff time".

5 years ago,the sens,i kid you not,had only 4 guys ABOVE 6 foot in height. Now 5 years later they only have 4 guys BELOW 6 foot in height. Against teams like the flyers its gonna be an added bonus.

  • Size is good, but not everything. Look at the Leafs' healthy lineup: Sundin, Kilger, Antropov, Ponikarovsky, Gill, Bell, Kubina, and the rest. All the guys I listed are huge in size.

  • Size was more a benefit in the old NHL, not so much these days.

  • Depends how you use it. If you watch Lecavalier's highlights he's just fightin' through defenders like it's nobody's business.

  • Got news for ya.The sens made it past teams that theyd never if they were small.

True speed is more of an asset, but you cant be small when it comes to the playoffs, early checks to start momentum would tire you out early.

  • you're right

  • I don't think size has a great deal to do with anything. It's a factor, but it's limited. The Leafs, on average, are monsters, and the team's bad. They also have a bunch of water-bugs, and the team's still bad. It's much more based on discipline, creativity, and an overall sense of the game. Gretzky was never the most talented player, and neither is Crosby now. It's their brains and their hearts that get them points and wins.

  • Point being?

I hated it when the sens speed was negated because their shooters were all small.

Alfie is still small but havlat was small, shafe was small.

    Speeza and Heatley are bigger.

Their D line is bigger. All above six foot.

And volchenkov blocks shots and philips plays well. They are the shut down D.

  • It's ALL about Volchenkov. The biggest contract steal in the last year.

  • it might be a little too early to tell, but I think Henrik Lundqvist is gonna be a UFA after this season. I think he'd fit in well in Toronto; a big market, and Mats Sundin is the captain and they were on the 2006 Swedish gold medal team, but who knows the Rags might somehow resign him to a multi year deal (I really hope not lol) That is a good question about the leafs "D" with Kaberle, McCabe, and Kubina, what's going on there?

  • Well Kubina's injured but he was playing decent hockey surprisingly, McCabe's improved A LOT and Kaberle isn't stellar defensively but he gets by and he's good on offence. As for Lundqvist becoming a Leaf: In our big fat dreams. No cap space, no way to move the other goalies, no incentive to play for an inferior team to the one he's on, no chance in hell.

  • i gotta say toskila is still your man.

And back here sens go with gerber.FORGET EMERY.For ONCE gerber is healthy and playing well and hes playing confident because the team in front of him is GOOD and scores alot more than the average team which gives him slack.Benching gerbs is the WORST MOVE.

If you do, kiss his confidence good bye.Where as emery still smiles and acts all cool even when hes benched. His confidence will last even on the bench cuz of what he did last year.

  • I duno, Emery looked pretty pissed to lose. Eveybody's happy if you win like 18 or your first 20. Now's when the Sens will be tested.

  • lol! wait...5-1? ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Hey when it was the leafs vs sens cujo and eddie did steal games.Back then all the sens had was alfie, hossa and havlat and though toronto won they were always badly outshot. But your right, a goalie cant save the leafs season.
