Just received mine in the mail, a quick review: surprisingly lightweight, very well balanced, comfortable grip, very smooth open/close action, and best of all, completely inconspicuous. There is nothing at all about this thing to indicate that it is anything other than a nicely made umbrella...until you've got a watermelon that needs cutting.

I bought this last year.

It was 150 euros that I never, ever regretted. This umbrella is so awesome, the only thing it can't do is pull a sword out from. Nor would you need to- I can apply most of my half-swording techniques without hesitation.

All in all, a solid buy whether you swing it like a baseball bat or you actually have training.

I just got mine.

+Solid handle you could use to knock out an ox. Looks harmless. Works fine as an umbrella. Great handle for hooking the opponent. Long enough to use as a cane when walking.

- Metal rods in the fabric; Metal bends. Synthetic flexy materials would have been nicer.

Not much weight near the tip. I'd like more weight there for extra impact.

In total: Money well spent. There's room for improvement but I'd buy it again and I recommend it.

Awesome. I train in a combat for of hand-a-half-sword and this would be perfect for defense...and why is it GBH. In Britain a reasonable level of self-defense is allowed, so if you get mugged at knife point..why not respond if your family is in danger. You can do this bagwork with any brolly... but just not twice :) it's not edged or really nasty. I mean you could maim with a biro if you were nasty enough.
