  • @Xongu93 Its not dangerous in the slightest imo. the safety bars are just to stop the retards dropping the bars on the floor or falling forwards on their faces. its also much less hassle when you do fail to re-rack

  • Olympiclifters train with hips out( mildly wide stance)somewhat like power lifters and hips in( narrow); the chief difference is O.lifters always perform rock bottom squats. True,a narrow stance puts more stress on the quadriceps tendons,but a wide powerlifting stance stresses the outer gluteals m,inner knees(menisci) especially if the knees were to fold in ever so slightly and thelow back. A pulled glute muscle will put you out of competition for6-8weeks.I believe theOlympic squatis safer.

  • His stance is too wide- he's doing a power lifting squat and if he were to break parallel he would likely collapse because the thighs are too widely spaced. The value of the Olympic lifters deep squat is that the narrow stance allows for a more compact lift and it eliminates some, not all , of the danngers posed by a powerlifters squat- which is really a type of low back and hip lift.

  • This is not a full squat. To view a full squat click on " Raz back squating" to see the world's strongest man do a double rock bottom full squat with 670 pounds. The proper form is to drop vertically down into the squat without thinking about any of the moving parts, then use the hips and thighs to rise. The bar should be placed high not low on the upper back.

  • The form you're describing is a great way to blow a knee out...makes my knees hurt thinking about it. I don't think this guys is trying olympic squatting. And I have no problem breaking parallel with a pretty wide stance. But this guy is nowhere near parallel, and is pretty laughable, but it's not his form that prevents it.

  • A shit load of weight but like someone said earlier... it's only a half squat... do some ATGs then I'll be impressed. Also, bad form. Bends at the knees first, then afterwards he starts with the hips. It's hips first, knees second. Keep your calves as vertical as possible, otherwise your just f-ing ur knees.

  • I can quite happily squat to parallel in a rack without spotters. It's quite simple you see - if you can't squat to parallel, the bar is TOO FUCKING HEAVY.
