  • Sorry I got Seasick....Love the Band...not this clip......PEACE

  • "Well if sex is a weapon, then smash, boom, pow, how you like me now?"

Hahahaha! Some of the best lyrics I've ever heard.

  • Well, seeing as how John Paul Jones was in Led Zeppelin, it only makes sense that this sounds like The White Stripes, since they were influenced by LZ. Both bands have a sort of simplicity to their songs - however, this doesn't stop the music from being heavy and powerful.

  • Love this song!!

  • Love this song!

  • buy it ya geek

  • qestu veut dire par il est lourd

  • dave grohl is so heavy and he will always be he's like a new john bohnam

  • i don't think he's close

  • hes more then a drummer though, guitar, vocal, drummer, all around great musician

  • Really cool video. I kinda hope Homme still gets a QOTSA album finished for this spring though.

    whiskeyliver dawt blogspottttt

  • @rules

  • @cleanandoftenseen

Imagine how cool YOU would be if you weren't a whiney little shit

  • he still would be uncool

  • poor dirty scumbag without any taste. i feel so sorry for you forced to be... you

  • Loveee it

  • Looking forward to the Sydney concert!

  • big chunky riff there in this song. quite the allstar lineup!

  • Alain Johannes from Eleven plays rhythm for them live

  • they use 2 basses in this tune though when they play it live for some extra KICK yo

  • yeah ones a 'Hangsteel' bass

  • Dave grohl is tired of the same old song and dance so he did something else that changes between playing in 7ths and 9's

  • Just noticed the guy on the right is playing bass, in fact a hofner violin bass. Great riffs.

  • is that alain johannes with no hair?? ohh man thats wild.

i want them in cali now!!!

  • 2:28

    *gasms

  • who's the other guitar player? I thought it was supposed to be a 3 piece

  • Comment removed

  • Pretty good 1st impression of TCV - that riff is so horny! :P Glad to see Grohl back behind the drums. I loved early FF stuff but later stuff, like 'Wheels' justs sounds like bland Nickelback-esque radio-friendly rock to me..but that's just my opinion. Anyway, i'll definitely be keeping an eye/ear on TCV :)

  • Bald guy = Alain Johannes, best guitar player you've never heard of...

  • Whos the bald guy?

  • Comment removed

  • holy shit, is jonesy using a slide?

  • yeah. its pretty cool to see.

  • Comment removed

  • does many people in your country have that "hail hitler" thinking?

  • what does that even mean ?

  • hahaha xD What?! xD

  • The vocal styling of the verse is similar to the song Icky Thump by the white stripes. Beyond that its just a fucking heavy ass song that blows everything else ever away.

  • What a huge riff! loving it, and have tickets to see them in Melbourne!

  • I can't believe these people saying they sound like the White Stripes, when the White Stripes are immensely influenced by Led Zeppelin... so who sounds like who?

  • Comment removed

  • I have never seen the White Stripes live but seen video. This band is leaps and bounds ahead of anything that band will ever produce. I love the way they perform. That show at the metro, was one of the best concerts I had ever been too.

  • @meatee You are awesome. People forget that zeppelin wa the most influential band except maybe the beatles.

  • Video should be called John Paul Jones gets bored of having mastered the bass and decides to play an entire song with his left hand upside down.

  • It's because he's playing with a slide; not showing off.

  • He's playing with the slide upside down though. I guess it might be easier.

  • hahahah

  • BAHAHAHA

  • agreed!

    love this song!

    TCV

  • Incesticide anybody

  • 2:29..... the money shot

  • Grohl finally back where he belongs.

  • rock chick 61, ur obviously not that bright, first of all dave joined after the first album was done so you do the math? Secondly he's the greatest drummer of the ninties, and cobain played chords, dont go on here to voice ur lame opinion if you dont know what ur talking about!

  • I can't wait to see them live!!!!!

    this is so phucking great

  • Om my...that's some sexy vocals..

  • Dave Grohl belongs on drums!

    Great vid.

  • who else is on guitar?

  • Alain Johannes

  • i never said that kurt wasnt their either... i was just saying that dave had a defining role in making rock music, rock music once again, instead of dirty shitty hair metal... all of nirvana did... so take it easy and listen to dave in nirvana, or any other band hes drummed for (something like eleven others) and realize he is a hero of rock as well as anyone else.

  • Indeed, and Josh made a lot of similar progress in Kyuss.

  • yea dave grohl is a freakin awesome drummer. his drumming is awesome in every band he's played for. he definitely had a defining role in making rock music. i love him lol

  • What is John Paul Jones playing?!

  • Bass

  • slide bass, actually. :)

  • It's not actually. It's more like an electric slide guitar. Wanted to know what model it is!

  • thats because it is a mix between zeppelin and queens

  • Does anybody know ho wrote that riff? It sounds like a dead even mix between Zeppelin and QOTSA.

  • Comment removed

  • Go and listen to the Jones solo ablum Thunderthief" or Zooma '. You will have your answer

  • thats true wen ur playin with a legend such as JPJ you best be prepared to put on one hell of a show and make sum damn good music lol

  • much respect for jpj as he is a true legend, but Dave was probably the only really musically talented person in Nirvana; a band that made kids cool again and got people off that weak weak weak hair metal 80's pop phase and changed a generation... dont get me wrong Nirvana made good music, but Dave was the spine of that band and his drumming is stand out in all their music and in all the work hes done with other bands. Dave is also a legend.

  • Josh is one of the few saviors we have left making modern rock that is true, pure rock. Real music. His sound is sex and his lyrics are insatiable. He is the king of a massive dessert rock sceen, and has a taste for other musical heroes. Anyone he has produced, sited, collaborated with, or even remixed is awesome... This guy deserves a lot of cred for being a true artist, a hard worker, a great musician, and a real performer. He is also in my opinion, a modern day legend. 3 eras, 3 legends.

  • if dave grohl was the spine of nirvana, then kurt cobain was the face, lungs, heart, stomach, legs and arms

kurt cobain _was_ nirvana, and to suggest otherwise only demonstrates your ignorance

foo fighters has never even come close to touching nirvana

  • well they surpassed them musically but not in terms of the loyal fanbase that nirvana had or the lyrical content.

  • foo fighters are awesome. and so is dave grohl, but yea you're right, how could he have been the spine of nirvana when he only joined at the end anyway.

  • Actually he was with them longer than any other in Nirvana......

  • Comment removed

  • Nirvana arguments are fucking annoying, but i'll give it you straight. He made the band MASSIVE cos of his simplistic hard drumming that worked with everything else.

  • Hate to be a smart ass but he was there for 2 studio albums. Nevermind and In Utero. 3 If you count Unplugged In N.Y.

  • 4 if you consider he did the majority of the drumming on the "From the Muddy Banks of Wishkah" recordings

  • Yeah, nirvana was around before Dave .When did they hit the big time? Thats right, when Grohl joined. He has the ability to push and take good bands to the next level. He sings writes and oh yeah blisters the drums. Thank god for Dave Grohl.

  • hommes better =D

and not queens of the stone age homme

    kyuss style homme =[}

  • Have you ever seen FF live? I've been seen a lot of headliners, their live show is the reason they are my favorite band

  • i saw them live at acl. it was dreadful. i left half way in.

  • What made it dreadful?

  • yes, that acl fest. their songs are unoriginal and obnoxious; it's just noise. i thought it might be better live since it's dave grohl, but instead it was equally as annoying, just louder.

  • acl, as in austin city limits music festival?

  • foos new pop stuff is gaawd awful but listen to 'colour and shape' album aswell as the aoustic cd with in ur honour, thats foos @ ther best

  • yeah, he was in it from the beggining no? yes hes a great musician it has to be said, i think his experience IN nirvana contributed gretly to that

  • Learn Nirvana pl0x

  • if only White Stripes had JPJones on bass (it'd be TCV's!)

  • i was just thinking that the singing and the general style at the start is like White Stripes...

however TCV go into a more complicated and badass ending... and far more rocky

and its just this song and new fang which have similar vocal styles to White Stripes

  • he joined in 1991 and was in it til the end. he holds all the rights to the entire music catalog. he;s kinda important. check your facts before you just say stupid shit

  • You dont need to be a prick, oh lord of all musicology

  • Nirvana was active between 1987 and 1994, Dave joined the band in 1990 and helped write their breakthrough album: Nevermind.

  • don't forget Noveselic

  • which one was the "ball sack ' of Nirvana ? How about the pancreas ?

  • i freekin' love that riff !

  • sorry i meant 0:49

  • I love the fils Grohl does 0:51 was a nice lil fill there and i love his rolls at the end there sick Me bein a drummer myself i have great respect for Dave he's awsome

  • He is always great , but you bring your A game when your playing with John P Jones

  • SWEET!!!

  • no shit, no one's Zep.

  • honestly, i kinda got tired of Zeppelin quite a while ago. I am glad they don't sound like Zeppelin

  • yes and no. ill always enjoy listening to zep but its good to have something fresh. gotta keep it fresh.

  • is there a reason they should be? those days are over, this is a new page bro

  • Comment removed

  • Damn, Josh writes some damn good riffs...although maybe JPJ wrote that...regardless, its pretty fucking sweet.

  • It sounds alot like the riffs from Jones' solo albums "thunderthief " or Zooma.

  • cheers for puttin this up. iv been dyin to hear them since i heard about it.

and apparently they supported the arctic monkeys last night. fair play.

im a huge fan of all their bands....they're all awesome!

  • who's the guy on the far right?

  • alan johannes,, he was bass player for qotsa for a while, in lullabies and era (studio version) and he is in a few of the dessert sessions

  • Alain*

He is one of the best damn producers out there and a multi-instrumentalist.

Also a member from the band Eleven

  • He also played with the band 'Eleven' ;) He is awesome IMO.

  • Comment removed

  • Ohh God!!! It really happened!!! It really really happened!! The universe loves us!!!

  • Josh is one sexy mutha =)

  • Fuck that, Plant had his chance to play with JPJ AND Jimmy again and make the world happy but he's too busy with Alison Krauss for that. Josh Homme is great.

  • Nice, it kind of sounds funky. I love that stuff.

Funk and rock work very well.

  • TCV rule, they are so bloody cool! I was there on the front row!

  • Comment removed

  • i dont think they sound that good. so stfuuuuuuuu idc what you think, and you stupid little shit im not a little girl and i like hard rock and metal. and their just not up to my standards,i loved nirvana and foo fighters and led zeppelin..just them together and live i dont think they sound that good, but their all reallllllly talented and amazing at music..soo shut itt

  • Comment removed

  • The riff at 2.30 is so JPJ, gotta fucking love it :P

  • Wow look at you on your high pedestal. Watch something else if you don't like it.

  • Right because JPJ and DG have terrible taste in band mates ... Moron.

  • Wtf does that have to do with my comment? I never said anything about that.

  • Relax friend.

  • wow, you really have no idea what the fuck you are talking about.

way to convince everybody with your super awesome adjectives like LAME to definitively prove how much this music sucks.

i'm sure all the seasoned ears here are fully convinced by your flawless argument

that was sarcasm... just in case you're just as good at detecting sarcasm as you are at critiquing music.

  • You don't know much about music apparently. You're probably one of those people that needs guitar shredding solos going constantly. Let me introduce you to a newfangled thing in the music world. IT'S CALLED GROOVE. But honestly, who are you to diss Josh Homme? He's famous for a reason, and it looks like you're not famous for a reason. Look at who's playing sold out shows, and look who's complaining about it on YouTube? Let's see YOU write some songs.

  • Your argument is flawed, one sided and shit.

Not that Josh Homme isn't a lord.

  • How so?

  • Sorry pal, was responding to RMNTNayn and his conceited bullshit. You're ok with me.

  • Idiot, those LAME riffs and songs are created by a musical genius. those LAME riffs kick ass. Idiot

  • That was the most poorly, ill-thought response I've ever heard. What are you, five? Is that really all you can say in your defence?

I think you need to take a long hard look at yourself buddy; what a disappointment.

  • All you have to do is listen to somthin else .

  • Listen to Kyuss and tell me he writes lame riffs.

  • Who is the 4th member of the band?

  • i cant... stop.... listening to this.... this album cant come fast enough :(!

  • We have Kyuss, QOTSA ansd Them Crooked Voltures so we are really getting it ;-)

  • this album is going to be legendary... other generations had the beatles, led zeppelin, guns n roses, alice in chains, nirvana... and now we get Them Crooked Vultures. God damn I wouldn't rather have had it any other way.

  • Wow, the teaser videos don't do this song justice at all.

  • I love that song its so fucking heavy and groovy ! cant wait for the album too come out.
