This is a prime example of poor and limited understanding of the Bible. I will offer this kindly advice:
Study and have a better knowledge of human history and culture. If you are going to use the Bible to form your opinion, start with the New Testament ... only then can you have a better understanding of the Old Testament.

I have to agree with all the comments from months ago. I believe the GVB was at it's best when it had Mark and David (Guy and Bill seem like permanent fixtures). Once Mark left and Russ came and now that new guy, the GVB rarely sings any songs that I can enjoy listening to. Those two guys have very talented voices, but more importantly make an honest effort to look godly, not worldly like too much of the GVB today.
the GVB is still very godly, how exactly are they worldly? have you watched the worthy the lamb video by the new vocal band? it's one of the most spirit-filled performances by the gvb to date. I love mark and david and yes they are my favorite assembly but the GVB is still...the GVB.
well, IMO, Guy is very worldly with his ungodly hair, and now the new tenor and baritone also have very worldly hair styles. Looking at the GVB today you'd guess they were a rock band, not a Christian band. Bill is the only one with decent hair. Mark (and Bill) seems to be the only ones who can sing the notes without inventing their own that usually sounds awfull. I think the clip with the GVB singing "He Touched me" with Ernie Hasse and the SSQ masterfully illustrates the differences.

Exactly what does a christian REALLY look like? I grew-up believing there is one judge and if I'm not mistaken, He judges us from within, our hearts, not the length or style of our hair. I believe we are all guilty of judging others and it is wrong. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we all need to remember that is all we are, an opinion. Why don't we try to focus on letting others see Jesus in us. Let's all work on loving one another. And pray for our own shortcomings.

He makes me laugh, and cry all at the same time. Thank God for people like Mark Lowry. Now that I'm all grown up, and my momma will agree, I'm glad that I've chosen him as a role model.

You're so wrong about what you said "you can't wear whatever you want and expect to get into heaves"....the Bible says the only sin that will send someone to hell is rejection of Jesus. I have watched David Phelps and Guy Penrod's ministry for years and they are absolutely Godly men walking with the Lord and I KNOW that if the Lord wanted them to cut their hair to "look" like Christians as you say, they would!!!

Even Jesus had long hair, what does anyone say about that. I guess Jesus was in a Rock band too huh. LOL I know christian men with long hair, and Gaither Vocal Band does better than any other singer that I have seen....

I have to agree with all the comments from months ago. I believe the GVB was at it's best when it had Mark and David (Guy and Bill seem like permanent fixtures). Once Mark left and Russ came and now that new guy, the GVB rarely sings any songs that I can enjoy listening to. Those two guys have very talented voices, but more importantly make an honest effort to look godly, not worldly like too much of the GVB today.

the GVB is still very godly, how exactly are they worldly? have you watched the worthy the lamb video by the new vocal band? it's one of the most spirit-filled performances by the gvb to date. I love mark and david and yes they are my favorite assembly but the GVB is still...the GVB.

well, IMO, Guy is very worldly with his ungodly hair, and now the new tenor and baritone also have very worldly hair styles. Looking at the GVB today you'd guess they were a rock band, not a Christian band. Bill is the only one with decent hair. Mark (and Bill) seems to be the only ones who can sing the notes without inventing their own that usually sounds awfull. I think the clip with the GVB singing "He Touched me" with Ernie Hasse and the SSQ masterfully illustrates the differences.

alright, you are correct that I have never seen a rock band before, but I still stand by what I say in that they don't look like Christians aught to look. Now the cathedrals on the other hand, they looked like well dressed clean cut men who love(d) the Lord.

Alright, my last post on this topic and then you can have the last word if you want :) I never said the GVB didn't love the Lord (I'm not about to judge someone's heart) but they don't do such a great job of showing it IMO. The hair doesn't really help them show it either, IMO, but that is only part. And I'll shut up now :)

Once again i'm sick of people talking about the hair, its JUST HAIR! Watch the "why me lord" video or "worthy is the lamb" video both by the new gaither vocal band and then tell me that Guy Penrod is not a Godly man.

Exactly what does a christian REALLY look like? I grew-up believing there is one judge and if I'm not mistaken, He judges us from within, our hearts, not the length or style of our hair. I believe we are all guilty of judging others and it is wrong. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we all need to remember that is all we are, an opinion. Why don't we try to focus on letting others see Jesus in us. Let's all work on loving one another. And pray for our own shortcomings.

I have to agree with all the comments. And Mark always encourages and claps the most for the others. He is such a great witness for Jesus Christ. I hated to see him leave the Gaither Vocal Band.
