@HARVESTERFTW no Mugen is not great. Mugen is fun for a moment and then put it away.
the fact of the matter is this. Mugen is an unbalanced piece of crap that allows randos to put whoever they want into games but those people dont' have ANY experience balancing characters or playing well.
Mugen is more broken than MvC2 and because of that IT SUCKS.
If Mugen was great it would be this controlled game that COULD one day end up in tournaments. I'll stick with SFIV thanks.
@HARVESTERFTW See I could say the same thing about Super Smash Brothers Brawl, BUT that game is balanced and well designed, with nice unique twists to each character.
MUGEN is made by a bunch of randos who just like to mess around. That does NOT make it a good fighting game.
I play Street Fighter IV with pros on a daily basis, as well as Marvel vs Capcom 2 which is the reason Mugen even exist. You say I have no taste... I say my taste is REFINED. I prefer games that aren't BROKEN.
@daftbottv I wouldn't call mugen BOKEN. But some characters are unbalanced, cheap, and overpowered. But, there are GREAT characters who have glaring weaknesses to counter a strength. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 has some broken characters in it too. Blackheart, Sentinel, and alot of Marvel's side are exploitable. But then again, a skilled Cable user can decimate you. MUGEN was created so that PC users who didn't have good fighting games could still jump on the bandwagon.
@HARVESTERFTW The reason it's broken is no 2 Mugen players are playing on the same set up. They can edit it and create whatever kind of characters they want. There's no standards.
It's COMPLETELY broken. It's not refined in any way, and as long as people keep making more random characters for it it's going to get more and more broken with time.

NOW those characters aren't altered, but THAT DOESN'T MEAN THEY'D PLAY WELL TOGETHER! That's why Capcom vs SNK sits on a new platform and the characters are reworked.

I have Ryu and Kyo in my roster (no, not the CAPCOM vs. SNK versions), and they fight well. In fact, it's always been close! Why sure, some characters don't go well together, and some have unfair advantages. But there are always counters to those if you memorize breaks in the offense or defence. See?
