  • Comment removed

  • Dude we have the same bass... Btw...EPIC!!!

  • you could leave the e string ring i guess but i aint playin bass i wouldn know what it sounds like

  • What pedal are you using? I'm thinking of buying a new one to play this and Orion, and some other Cliff stuff...

  • what distorcion are you using?

  • I just realized that the bass you are using is NOT a GSR200 right?

  • me dolio la mano de verlo

  • понты это всё...

  • wtf. i do belive cliff just gave him self away. why where you hiding away for so long :O

  • Cliff Burton IS* the best, not WAS

  • in pratice have made the intro of the concert " day on the green" of the '85! Fabulous! I adore Cliff and her way to play!

  • what amp do you use?

  • ENOUGH SAID! lol kiilled it. too good

  • Wow that was pure metal \m/ Keep on rocking with the bass \m/

  • Chaotic timing. Watch that.

  • @neglectedMushrooms Go listen to pulling teeth, off of kill em all, its cliff's bass solo.

  • learn how to play bass you're playing it like a guitar

  • @neglectedMushrooms thats how cliff played the bass

  • chould you add tabs too :)?

  • finally someone who do it right

  • Nice job ma21! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I can't wrap my head around why people think a cover should be an exact reproduction. Every cover is done using ones own interpretation. Unless you're using a wah pedal and the same effects as Burton did during that intro, you're not going to play it "exact" anyway. With that said, if you want to hear it how Burton played it note for note, go buy the Ride The Lightning album!

  • xd

  • and another one who misses 1 little tab that makes the intro a cliff burton intro

  • need moar

  • nice sound

  • eres una mierdaa!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahahhahhhaaha MIERDA!!!!!

  • @echolli pendejo

  • I like this. Did you invent it or is it how cliff did it?

  • @KrossPoison1 This is how Cliff does it on the "Day on the Green" clip from Cliff 'em All.

  • omg it is cliff himself!!!

  • after of my 20 seconds of that video. I am totally lost.,,,

  • realy good

  • i think u went a little to fast

  • what did you use to that sound

  • you must play a guitar too lol

  • FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

  • men tocas el bass no guitar -.-

  • @xScorpion666x y por qué los hombres no pueden tocar el bajo?

  • @yourlocaldumbasses el se refiere a que confunde un bajo con una guitarra

    por que cliff lo hacia:D

  • Good job. I think someone plays For Whom the Bell Tolls a little to much. :)

  • donde conseguiste la tab?

  • What distortion did you use to make it sound like a regular electric guitar?

  • stupid stupid i hate you, you dont even know how.

  • If you just wanted to show off pick up a guitar......

  • @brontosaurious On the bass you can do everything you can do on a guitar... and much, much more!

  • @tmafkap i know, im a bassist

  • @tmafkap how a bout bar chords and well chords with more then 1 finger?

  • @anubiscainerosu thats a yamaha bass dude

  • @CamoteMaster lol...doesn't matter...is great:)

  • @anubiscainerosu hell yeah!

  • You are some kind of monster..

  • is a yamaha rbx170 true men :) ? but... the pedal xD ? and amp ?

  • overly rushed.

slow down and let the music through

  • what kind of bass is that?

  • if you wanna show off, go play a guitar, not a bass...

  • @HardcoreCal So if Cliff had played guitar instead of bass he would have been what? Another boring guitarist that shreads, rather than one of the greatest bass players of all time...its harder to impress on bass than it is on guitar.

  • @HardcoreCal thats true

thats not how a bass should be played

  • @brontosaurious oh whatever!

  • WOOOOW YOU JUST MADE ME SMILE!

  • sexy

  • manboobs

  • great distortion tone! :)

  • @may21 can u make and send me a video on how to play this ??

  • Excelent ;)

  • you kill robert trujillo! robert cant play FWTT

  • not`bad`:/

  • nice cover bro:P, watch mine & rate if u want

  • oh my fucking goodness this is awesome

  • dude, i own that same exsact bass (yamaha) and i just learned that same exsact song (metallica) lol

  • is this a warwick fortress rockbass ??

  • @ArisTsimogiannis no, its a yamaha, i own the same copy, its pretty good though

  • 20 seconds??? WTF

  • what are you using to make it sound so like the real thing ? lol

  • if u notice the most of the bassist players in the videos have the same bass...even me i have the same!!!!

  • may I ask what distortion pedal you are using?

  • i have the same bass :D!!!!! its a Yamaha

  • what bass is that?

  • too fast!

  • those are some floppy ass strings.

  • wow dude thts fantastic.

  • my bass guitar have the same :DDDD

    what effects are you using?!

  • its yamaha, right?

  • wait did you seriously just fucking SLAP the fuckign e string on for whom the bell tolls?! ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?!!?!?!??!?!?!?!?

  • @JediKinslayer lol it has to have my lil touch hahaXD

  • @may21 im sorry i just hate that style of playing, but you do a good job playing with your fingers

  • @may21 i roflmfaoed on this comment :D:D:D

  • @JediKinslayer WTF man...?

  • @JediKinslayer I slap the E string all the time too. It adds a percussive sound (which is what this entire song is about), especially if you have the proper bass and settings.

Quit ragging on people for playing it differently than Cliff did. Who gives a shit if it's slapped, picked, or played with a dick? If every bassist was a Cliff imitator, Metallica would be the only metal band post 1983 with a record deal.

  • @Machx72 And its all about sound. slapping a string gives a HORRID sound. and using a pick gives it a high pitch sound which is annoying in bass.

  • @JediKinslayer Says YOU. Slapping gives a very percussive sound, and it works amazingly on my bass. And some people like using picks. Personally, Dave Ellefson's sound is one of the best in metal, in my opinion. If you're that closed-minded about your music, I feel real sorry for you, 'cause your music is gonna suck.

  • @Machx72 LOL slapping in metal?! FUCKING HORID.

  • @JediKinslayer Yeah, slapping in metal. Cliff did it too on the studio bass track AND live. You're so damn closed-minded... Have fun with that. Slapping is used A LOT in metal because of the percussive sound it can have. If you had any sense of musicianship and the ability to open your eyes, you'd probably know that.

Then again, you're probably the guy who thinks you're the baddest bassist on the planet for being able to play Enter Sandman.

  • @Machx72 LAWL CLIFF NEVER SLAP AND PLUCKED ON BASS DUDE. and everyone who uses the slap and pluck method sucks balls because its stupid. maybe you should learn some musicianship and open your fucking eyes dumbshit. and enter sandman's bassline sucked balls dude it was done by jason newsted

  • @JediKinslayer 1- Plucking is not popping, which I'm pretty sure is what you're referring too. 2- Cliff slapped, watch him live. He was a true musician, and not a closed-minded dumbfuck who tried to push some hardcore, strict train of thought that doesn't fit in music. And I know who wrote Enter Sandman's bass. Who wrote it wasn't the point of my post at all.

Don't even reply if you can't intelligently reply to my posts. You CLEARLY have NO clue what you're talking about.

  • @Machx72 Oh im sorry im not as immature as a dumbfuck like you. 1 plucking and popping are the same fuckign thing. 2. he doesnt slap and pluck. and he doesnt slap either. he his ALL OF THE STRINGS at the same time.

  • @JediKinslayer Please tell me you're just trolling and aren't serious? Plucking is the action used by fingerstyle players to play the bass. Popping us pulling the string off the fretboard and releasing it to make a popping sound. No, Cliff doesn't pluck, but he most certainly slaps, and does so in For Whom The Bell Tolls. Watch his videos, dumbass.

You've got to be a child. Or mentally deficient. Please tell me one of those two are true.

  • @JediKinslayer Please...just shutup. Every comment you've posted is completely wrong in every way.

  • @johncerasi um. no im not wrong. i know my facts. sorry im smarter then you.

  • @JediKinslayer No you don't. There's nothing I can say to prove you wrong that Machx72 hasn't already said, but judging by everything you've said, you know nothing about music, and you're one sided about it.

  • @JediKinslayer And if you were smarter THAN me, you would know you used the wrong "than", and that popping and plucking aren't the same thing.

  • @JediKinslayer ya he did you are suposse to play it slap or not you do it if you play it right

  • @JediKinslayer so what if he slapped o.O

  • how its done!

  • Better than Marbleizer's! =o

  • this is maybe the closest one i have heard, nice job, very good bends

  • is that an ibanez bass?

  • thats was awesome

  • nice :D

  • what pedal do u use?

  • you play very well, but you could play cowboys from well?

I await responses from the owner of the video.

  • its not was the best, he still is the best cause no one is better

  • nice coverr, watch mine and comment if u like :P

  • @juampialarcon nice, u combined cliff'style and robert's lol good job :)

  • @may21 dude i made another cover, with better sound, watch it and rate if u like :P

  • nice coverr menn!! watch mine plx

  • very good.

  • haha everyones acting like this dude is cliff burton or some shit.

  • i like how you pull the strings w.out a prob lol

  • that was awsome dude

  • oh man you are a very good bass player

    ^^

  • lol you abuse the bass

  • And since my last comment was in response to another comment, I really enjoyed your rendition of the FWTBT intro, should have been longer imo but well played regardless.

Oh yeah, John Entwistle. Look him up WickedDude

  • Most epic bass intro ever. Awesome skills!

  • ur awesome at bass dude!!!

  • Cliff and Myung are the best bassist ever... trujillos good too, but doesnt have cliffs style...

  • cliff was good, he was not jesus aiight so stop comparing other bassists to him for fucks sake.

may21 you are a hectic player dont listen to these fucking spastics.

  • Men i have you bass, my bass is = to this!!! lol yamaha

  • ocupa distorcion????

  • i have that bass its a yamaha rbx170

  • what effect you use pls tell me

  • nice one man!! do the whole damn thing!! :D

  • your bass sounds like an electric guitar, it sounds awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • i like it :) nice, agressive sound!

  • goood ride the lightining for whom the fucking bell tolls metallica R.I.P

  • i'm more thinking of great bass players like tom araya for slayer and paul grey srry but it's better to use effects to use your imagenation did you ever hear like good metal without a distortion ?

  • how much distortion are you using? it's fuckin awesome!

  • @WickedDuke Cliff Burton rapes all of those bassists, they dont have and will never have such a great soul for playing bass guitar as cliff did. Its all about that. And Cliff was a great musician and song writer with a kick ass technique. Using or not distortion has nothing to do with it.

  • @may21 most definitely.

Roger Waters, Paul McCartney, Victer Wooten, Flea, they're all good, but so was cliff. It has nothing to do with distortion or not. He may play like a guitarist sometimes, but whats that matter? and to the first part of WickedDuke's comment: "yeah this is total faill" this was actually the best cover i've seen so far (and i've seen way too many on youtube)

So may21, what distortion pedal are you using here? and any other effects and such. Thanks :P

  • @Bobthefatzombie Don't forget Marcus Miller ^^

  • @may21 hahaha so not... Cliff doesnt even get near the ankles of any of them..they are the pure essense of what being a bassist is..and im really sorry but Cliff could never even reach the technique of them just check it out for yourself...and dont be biast, honestly Cliff like i said was good yes... but he could have never compared to Victor Wooten Flea or any or them, i assure you that

  • @may21 Yes Cliff is one of the best bassists who ever lived (top 5 at least). but he isn't better than flea, victor wooten, or les claypool, these bassists have taken bass to another level, cliff was revolutionary in the genre of lead bass, having a dominant bass sound in the band, for whom the bell tolls is a fine example of that. But it only went that far.

    McCartney sucks

  • @may21 cliff burton is not as good as victor wooten sorry

  • @darthhull85 are you serious? Cliff Owns ALL bass players man, he was versatile so in case your gonna talk about how Cliff wasn't melodic enough, Listen to his solo's man. peace =]

  • @biqMAKnificent he doesnt "own" all of them. sorry. there are players who play better than him. people who just dont play basic ass bass lines. the bassist for dream theater owns cliff anyday

  • @darthhull85 your a fukin retard...cliff was the best

  • @HeavyMetal551 its called an opinion. dumbass. nobody is the best at anythng

  • @darthhull85 thing is though... cliff is the best because he pretty much created that form of bass... the distortion, the high notes... the speed. its like micheal jackson... sure people can moonwalk better than him. but HE made it... he gets the props. the great will always be compared to the first... cliff was the first.

  • @may21

What equipment do you use to get that tone? It sounds great.

  • @may21 I'm agreeing with you here buddy. Although Roger Waters can definitely be considered on the same level as Cliff (or maybe even better as an overall musician), Victor Wooten is a bass virtuoso and is technically superior, but lacks the same soul in his playing that we so lovingly appreciate from Cliff. Flea is great too but again, lacks the soulful playing of Cliff. And Paul McCartney? You kidding me?? Legendary song writer, but incredibly weak on the bass compared to most of his peers.

  • @may21 Are you saying he rapes even Steve DiGiorgio?

  • @KissMeImPunk

The Gathering by Testament would beg to differ.
