These guys were the quintessential hippy band, and this instrumental always took me away to a unique and haunting place/time. I saw QMC 1969(?) at the Hammond Indiana Civic Center, and got to take home a great memory. After watching a frisbee bounce around the theatre for an hour, I finally got hold of it and made the toss of the century, all the way to the far balcony. Not only the audience but even the band actually applauded my throw! Anyway, thanks for posting this, great piece.
It is so funny that people spell the word hippy when it started out as hippie, as opposed to yippie, as opposed to everything that was straight. The world owes a lot to these people cause they made music that still makes one think there is a music that can take you to another plane and not just to another plane that will get you to another place. The plane is on the plain and it will remain until you get off and find the world for yourself. Walk on John, ride the space that allows for grace.
Amazing timing, peetolator, I just typed a letter twenty minutes befiore I read your comment, and used the word "hippy." I think the last time I used that word was in my message here four months ago. After typing the word in my letter I did a double take and noticed the error, quickly deleting the "y" and adding an "ie" as even I know it should be spelled. I don't know why I missed here earlier. Your comment on this at this very moment was most intuitive.
From '70 to about '73 spend many hours listening to this album, wore out a couple of em. Had some of their others but, well, they just didn't compare to this one - even the bass licks had a harmony that you never hear anymore. Still good after nearly 40 years, incredible.
what is it with this album.....its just tooooo good!!!this has to be one of the top 10 all time kick ass albums ever made.its so good that it makes it hard to listen to other quicksilver albums, cause i keep thinking of this ultimate guitar sound.the guitar lead on this is just.......words escape me...........
It's very good 'n reminds one of 'Holst' The Planets .. self contained epic w/great dynamic contrasts .. one transcendent long blues guitar riff .. or sumthin ..

This is so odd! It sends shivers though. So much feeling in that tremolo guitar solo.

the most beautiful and original sounds came from John's guitar; a master with a unique style. he is missed.
