  • This is my favourite most belovedest and {words cannot express} musical piece ever. It is not a monumental piece,, not difficult to comprehend, sarcastic in some sense, yet so powerful! There is (was) a video on youtube that featured this concerto played by the grandson of Dmitri Dmitrievich, and conducted by his son. That was perhaps the best performance of it. The second-best is in my opinion Matsuevs (on youtube). This one's cool too, a bit slow though to my taste. To summarize, bravissima!

  • Congratulations for finding, and many thanks for posting this exciting rendition of an excellent and difficult work. I have not heard it played any better!!

  • wow, what a complicated and dissonant piece. and I see that the pianist is not using sheet music. she is doing this incredible work by memory? and the trumpet player is standing so far back from the music stand. how can he read the sheet music?

  • Practice

  • @cudjoebob It's not that dissonant, there are still a lot of tonal parts.

  • Nice job on the trumpet part!!!

  • The pianist did well. The last movement is notoriously difficult to play.
