the older version sounds better to me in the british mode, the palm muted chugging riff sounds meatier and juicier. playing that same riff through the new version sounds weaker and muffled in comparison.

Куда же без этого.

Педальки по идее звучать должны одинаково. Было дело, держал и старые и новые.

И качество записи повысить бы... Хотя основная мысль донесена :)

@SulakvelidzeCustom гитара Fender Stratocaster (Mexico), bridge - minihumbacker от DiMarzio (кажется Superdistortion или как-то так, я уже не помню), амп - бытовая балалайка фирмы Peavey. Разница в звуке есть, и она заметна. Не было б разницы - нахрена тогда сравнение делать? )

The new one seems to have a better cab simulator. better DI BOX too...

I don't own or plan to buy it soon, but I slightly prefer the new one. Seems to have a hint more of fundamentals. The old one is just a bit more sterile in the mid/lows. I guess they changed (increasing value) one or more coupling capacitor. IMHO

@LeonGrinberg What is right - my ears or manual of Tech21??? This pedal not work without battery, and sound changing in bypass mode. Try to direct connect and compare.

sansamp provide the voice, the amp provide the tubes, using a peavey classic you should have all classic tones with true sound

coz this is tube amp simulator, with traditional sounding of marshall, peavey and fender. Best for mainstream styles - for food clubs, imho

Will this thing sound beastly through a Solid state amp?

no, recorded through simple Peavy 10 Watt guitar combo. But! Why need to plug Sunsamp in real solid state amp?? This is speaker simulator, with amp simulation, better for usage in line, in poor-quality devices, amps. In all other cases better using real amps, real cabinets.

For example: plug in to Marshall head, sounding through Marshal 4x12 cab - no need simulating in this case Marshall sound with Sansamp! %) But if you need plug in line, so - Sansamp is the Best!

In sansamps no true bypass, and in new sansamps gt2 active bypass negative sounding. Imho, ofcoz
