I know your comment is old but I just love the fact that you wrote "Wallendar" - since that actually IS what the British actor calls himself instead of Wallander. :D I had to got used to the pronunciation but in the end I have to say that I like the British Wallander-films better than the Swedish ones.
I would certainly agree. I started watching Wallander through Netflix, because I'm a fan of BBC crime shows (such as Waking the Dead and Wire in the Blood) and a fan of Kenneth Brannagh. This song is so hauntingly beautiful and fits the show so perfectly that I had to look it up to see who it was, and bought the song off itunes.
Wallander is genius! The acting blew me away, Kenneth is a masterpiece in this role. Each story line is so intriguing with excellent writing. Love this show!!
@jacklacks0 ~ I don't know the actual chords she is playing in this tune but it sounds like she is starting with Bm (played changing back and fourth between x24430 and the actual chord x24432) and then G (355433) and then finally an A (577655). That is just the basic sound I'm hearing...don't take it as 100% correct but I am such a fucking guitar genius I once made Mr. Marr blush :)
Wallander, like Grey's Anatomy, ER and similar programmes - have introduced music lovers to so much - this is lovely but you need to hear the whole album. Also used in Wallander - Quiet Night by Anna Ternheim; Flaskkvartetten both seriously good.
I disagree about the "boring video." I think it's perfect for what the songs says, at least to me. On Wallendar it's "blue heart" and the street where she knocks is described differently.
This song absolutely matches the atmosphere of the Wallander series. For the ones who like the tv series, I can highly recommend the books about Kurt Wallander (and also the other books created by the Swedish writer Henning Mankell).
If haunting ever applied to any musical piece than surely this is it. Yes it can be thought of as sad, melancholic or even depressing but It strikes me as uplifting in it's insight and sensitivity and basically the warm glow that envelops you on a cold winters evening as you listen is ultimately life affirming and uplifting.
i love this song <3 ...emily and dom were at my school today doing a singing and song writing workshop it was awesome....good thing i live in her hometown xD
I heard this song as the theme to Wallander for the first time. Emily and Co are absolutely the best female folk I have "discovered" for a long time. :-))
Thx to wallander, one of my favourite songs

I saw them in Birmingham yesterday supporting Frank Turner. They have a really great performance, would be lovely to see one of their headline shows.
