  • hi sanmariecom. I owned and discarded the Tchaikovsky/Rachmaninoff concertos by Richter/Mravinsky/Sanderling/Lenningrad Orchestra on a Melodiya CD. Sound quality was terrible. I was wondering about the audio source of the video you uploaded. Is it by Urania? That's the only other CD I know of with this material, and the sound of your video is much better than the Melodiya CD. If YES, then I would probably buy the Urania CD.

    Thanks,

    Ray

  • Such a beautiful piece of music! And i've never seen this photo of young Sviatoslav Teofilovich.Thank you for sharing!

  • YES! Perfectly Perfect.

  • is this the 61 recording? What is the label?

  • Peut-être le plus célèbre de tous les concertos pour piano. RICHTER le plus célèbre interprète de l'oeuvre !!

  • This is a bit fast compared to other versions. But a lot more powerful.

  • the weight of such a power... fabulous and incredible recording!

  • I hardly find enough words to describe this version... Just perfect!

Excellent in every sense. Thank you very much!

  • My absolute favorite recording. Splendid!

Expressive, lyrical, spontaneous,... and in terms of virtuosity more than expectable. :)

  • This preformance is my all time favorite of this great piano concerto. I first heard it when I was a child; I loved it then and I love it even more now. Many years have passed by, and along the rough and meandering road of life, I heard every performance of this music and I can here confess that, to my ears, this rendition has never been surpassed and probably will never be ...

  • A good case could be made for this also to be rated the number one all time best. Music being subjective-I salute Richter,Horowitz,Kissin,Van Cliburn ,Szell,Mravinsky,Von Karajan,Kondrasian, and even Toscanini. They were all brilliant and had something profound to say. Bravo to all these great geniuses.

  • I bought this CD in Japan.

  • where did you find this? Perfection...
