Having lived in New Jersey, New York and Maryland my whole life I have to say I don't know many straight roads. Most I've driven are are actually quite bendy up in North Jersey.
I have a 2005 convertible and it is a really fun car to drive. I don't live on or near a test track, this auto is suited for local roads. Test drivers are the types that cause accidents on the open roads and should stay home at live out their needs via video games.

The fact is, it and the chrysler 300 are based on old mercedes architecture, fact. The crossfire lost every comparison test it ever came in, including non top gear magazines. It's awards are minimal, and most reviews are unflattering. Looks are the only subjective part that can be argued, but as a sports car, it does not meet or exceed the competition.

Simple shit like not checking the coilpacks and spark plugs can lead to disaster. Not to mention trusting mazda to service the car, the cars good, the dealerships arent. Its not a case of american versus mazda but a case of how well the car is maintained by the driver.

In regards to RX8 VS 350Z - i'd take RX8, because it looks cooler and because it's actually a 4 door salon (no 2 door coupe). I know 350Z and 370Z have more power, but in the city, there is no way you can use all that power anyway.
Drove both when i was choosing a car for me (don't ask why I ended up getting a Passat :)), RX8 felt better on the road. 350Z felt... heavy.. donno why.
Superb looking car and they go well too,not a common sight in the UK so they are a real head turner.0-60 in just over 6 secs and 150 mph not bad for the standard car,lookout for that ST6 300 BHP 0-60 just 5 secs quicker than the Boxter S,the 350Z and way ahead of the Audi TT.Long term they are reliable,German built being based on the Mercedes SLK ,lighter than its rivals,if you want something different give it a try.Not like the usual American muscle cars,its small and can go around corners too!
@elitecrew69 The SRT6 base price was 45 coupe, 50 grand roadster. It's not significantly faster than a late model 350z, and will only match a 370z in the 1/4 mile (gets raped on the freeway). It doesn't handle amazingly (.90G's is something the 350z can match), nor does it out brake/ get more MPG than a 350z. Also, the 350z/370z well equipped could cost roughly 10 grand less. The SRT6 also lost pretty much every comparison it was in, regardless of it's straghtline performance.

ie, the rotory engine is designed to run high rpm's. if you run a combonation of high rpm and low rpm as a daily driver the engine will last. mainly cuz thoes high rpms will flush out the carbon buildup and etc...
the only real problem with these modern rotory engines are the apex seals and other various seals... however if you have a warrenty the problem is nothing. otherwize its a 2-4K job every 120,000-160,000Mi

@390fusion Actually it is a German car labeled with a few American badges that came from the American-German merger. Parts come from and are labeled mainly with the Mercedes star or "Made in Germany." They are actual SLK parts which makes for more selection when it comes to used parts. We can't say we drive 100% German or American, but it is fact that it's about 80-90% German.

allrite all you assholes dig this me & my girlfriend in her crossfire on xmus eve, on ice had a hell of a wreck thanks to an asshole that lost it in front of us. we hit him at 50 mph+ and thanks to a well bilt car we walked away . the car preformed& held up grate. thank god for air bags& saftey belts thay work. the moter droped down instad of cumming back into the cockpit with us&. i thank god & chryslers engineering for keeping us alive. we will buy another one . at a boy chrysler!!
I have one. I agree with what this guy says. The steering and pedals are soft and squishy. The fit and finish is cheapish. It's noisy inside. The tires are unnecessarily big (expensive) for a 22hp car. But the mechanics are bulletproof and sporty Benz and pre-owned price is LOW. It's a good little car. Just don't expect a full blown sports Mercedes for a Chrysler price. Expect a stiff riding, fun on turns, grippy Chrysler with a low price and and unique style. Would I buy another? No.
Thats what I love about Fifth even in a not so good car they are looking for positives while Top gear are more of an entertainment ... they are biased on certain occasions and go in with a negative mindset when it comes to american cars

Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear did a WAY better road test of this car. It flat sucks, and apparently Tiff doesn't quite see that. Although I'm glad he recognized its limited appeal.

it doesent seam worth it unless you find a deal in my opinion a 350Z easilly outperforms it and so does the base model later 300zx ..

Actually, I believe the car is made in Germany by Karmann, not really by Chrysler, so yeah, I guess it should be a more complicated design, that´s just my guess. Doesn´t mean that it sucks though, german vehicles are excellent.
It looks better in person. I think that the ugliest car is the Pontiac Aztek. Whoever designed that must have had a serious problem in the head. and 300s are tolerable too...when you don't overly mod it like everyone does.

Sorry you guessed wrong. I have two cars none of what you named. Doesn't change the fact this car just doesn't sell unless it's a bargain after someone who owned it for a year. And used car dealerships are filled with it. I see them everyday on my way to work, and the prices has been dropping while it's sitting on their lot by the thousands.
the srt-6 version of this is alot better, the engine is supercharged and makes 330 hp 310 tq, 0-60 in 5 second range, has different rims and a bigger spoiler. which isnt half bad at all for this little coupe :]

Spacious my ass! It feels like you're in a shoe box when driving that car. Speaking of shoes, it looks like one when viewing it on TV, or video. It's not easy to get out of either. I found myself slipping back into the seat when I tried. In snow and ice? Terrible! It can easily get stuck because of it's light weight. The only thing positive I can say about the Crossfire is that it really looks exotic when you see it in person on the road next to average looking cars.

stay away from the 2004/05/06 modles, i hored they are shit. i read a little bit and the new modles are much faster and stronger [03-04 does 0-100 in 7.7 and the 08/07 does it in 6.5] and the and she does now 1 litter per 12kilometer
yeah i ended up gettin one. and I came pretty close to matching bongig43's numbers up above (for the 07/08 models) but I got an 04. so i guess it's how good of a driver you are. AND I LOVE MY CAR!!!! alabaster white convertible got it for $11,500 out the door. my payments are only $220 a month. freakin sweet just not lookin forward to changin the tires tho... that'll suck

I worked in a Chrysler dealership and I have developed a strong hatred for all Chrysler cars. The PT Cruiser is slow, gas guzzling, uncool, and the interior has shiny plastic in it that you want to polish while driving. The Sebring is one of the most unreliable cars on the road and not that good looking. The crossfire is ugly, horribly built and sucks in performance. The only car I like made by Chrysler is the 300C. That really is a cool car for people wanting to act out their mafia fantasy.
I have one here in the UK and am entirely satisfied.

@mustafa142004 There are a lot of rx8's with well over 100,000 miles that run without a problem. They have a lot less moving parts than piston engines. You seem to assume a lot, like that my point is based on top gear. You say I haven't driven them before (wrong), and then claim "everyone" needs to calm down, assuming that "everyone" is riled up. Why don't you stop talking until you can learn to properly conjugate sentences and present a decent argument without sounding like a 3rd grader.

ie, the rotory engine is designed to run high rpm's. if you run a combonation of high rpm and low rpm as a daily driver the engine will last. mainly cuz thoes high rpms will flush out the carbon buildup and etc...
the only real problem with these modern rotory engines are the apex seals and other various seals... however if you have a warrenty the problem is nothing. otherwize its a 2-4K job every 120,000-160,000Mi

@390fusion Actually it is a German car labeled with a few American badges that came from the American-German merger. Parts come from and are labeled mainly with the Mercedes star or "Made in Germany." They are actual SLK parts which makes for more selection when it comes to used parts. We can't say we drive 100% German or American, but it is fact that it's about 80-90% German.

allrite all you assholes dig this me & my girlfriend in her crossfire on xmus eve, on ice had a hell of a wreck thanks to an asshole that lost it in front of us. we hit him at 50 mph+ and thanks to a well bilt car we walked away . the car preformed& held up grate. thank god for air bags& saftey belts thay work. the moter droped down instad of cumming back into the cockpit with us&. i thank god & chryslers engineering for keeping us alive. we will buy another one . at a boy chrysler!!

I have one. I agree with what this guy says. The steering and pedals are soft and squishy. The fit and finish is cheapish. It's noisy inside. The tires are unnecessarily big (expensive) for a 22hp car. But the mechanics are bulletproof and sporty Benz and pre-owned price is LOW. It's a good little car. Just don't expect a full blown sports Mercedes for a Chrysler price. Expect a stiff riding, fun on turns, grippy Chrysler with a low price and and unique style. Would I buy another? No.

I absolutely love my Crossfire. Take it from a Crossfire owner: this is a great car and the only two things I don't like about it are the overly-engineered cupholder and the $90 oil changes. Thanks for the engine, Mercedes and thanks for the styling, Ferrari Testarossa/Chrysler Building.

it doesent seam worth it unless you find a deal in my opinion a 350Z easilly outperforms it and so does the base model later 300zx ..
the car looks like it handles great .. but the power is just not there 30grand should get you more then 215HP no matter what car you drive!

Actually, I believe the car is made in Germany by Karmann, not really by Chrysler, so yeah, I guess it should be a more complicated design, that´s just my guess. Doesn´t mean that it sucks though, german vehicles are excellent.

Anyone saying something nice about it is being generous. The back end and the front made it looks so ugly, they should of get rid that huge butt. Sorry you guessed wrong. I have two cars none of what you named. Doesn't change the fact this car just doesn't sell unless it's a bargain after someone who owned it for a year. And used car dealerships are filled with it. I see them everyday on my way to work, and the prices has been dropping while it's sitting on their lot by the thousands.

the srt-6 version of this is alot better, the engine is supercharged and makes 330 hp 310 tq, 0-60 in 5 second range, has different rims and a bigger spoiler. which isnt half bad at all for this little coupe :]
btw its literally the only chrysler thats tolerable, imo

Spacious my ass! It feels like you're in a shoe box when driving that car. Speaking of shoes, it looks like one when viewing it on TV, or video. It's not easy to get out of either. I found myself slipping back into the seat when I tried. In snow and ice? Terrible! It can easily get stuck because of it's light weight. The only thing positive I can say about the Crossfire is that it really looks exotic when you see it in person on the road next to average looking cars.

stay away from the 2004/05/06 modles, i hored they are shit. i read a little bit and the new modles are much faster and stronger [03-04 does 0-100 in 7.7 and the 08/07 does it in 6.5] and the and she does now 1 litter per 12kilometer

yeah i ended up gettin one. and I came pretty close to matching bongig43's numbers up above (for the 07/08 models) but I got an 04. so i guess it's how good of a driver you are. AND I LOVE MY CAR!!!! alabaster white convertible got it for $11,500 out the door. my payments are only $220 a month. freakin sweet just not lookin forward to changin the tires tho... that'll suck

I worked in a Chrysler dealership and I have developed a strong hatred for all Chrysler cars. The PT Cruiser is slow, gas guzzling, uncool, and the interior has shiny plastic in it that you want to polish while driving. The Sebring is one of the most unreliable cars on the road and not that good looking. The crossfire is ugly, horribly built and sucks in performance. The only car I like made by Chrysler is the 300C. That really is a cool car for people wanting to act out their mafia fantasy.

People in the UK need to stop thinking Jeremy Clarkson is god. Have you seen how he drove the thing in his Top Gear review? Like a pussy. The man can't drive unless he's got enough room on a track to allow for errors. I've seen people take corners quicker on a skateboard.
All i need to say is quality build, reasonably priced, 160 m.p.h. car. A fun car to drive with more than enough power.
