@ilikecrepesify : you took it the wrong way. Of course they'll cause damage because there will be a lot of adventure in the story; fighting against aliens for example. They'll be in war just like the first movie and they can't avoid the "damage" to the ship or wherever in persuing those aliens.

It's an American children's game. When two people accidentally say something in synch, one can call jinx. The one that got jinxed has to buy the other a soda, or can't talk until the other releases the jinx, something like that. In this case, because he said 'jinx', Zach won something off Chris. xD At least in theory.

Heck, they do this even off the set. They often made little Kirk/Spock-ish jokes when they were on the Star Trek panel at Wondercon. Quinto, for example, was talking about what a great person he thought J.J. was, when Chris piped up, "You don't understand humans.' Zach calmly replied, "only half, half-way.'

Man, that cracked me up. I can see why J.J. cast Chris as Captain Kirk after having him perform a screen-test with Zach. They really seem to understand the Kirk/Spock friendship.

I'm sure they will. I feel so happy for them. For Zach, a TV actor transitioning to movies for the first time, getting to do a legendary role in a huge, well-done, high profile movie alongside the original actor is unbelievably lucky. For Chris, who has a background in stage, romantic comedy, and small-scale action, being able to tackle a powerful leadership/action hero role in an epic blockbuster and do it so well will open up many new opportunities; he made the right choice to do this film.

I wouldn't necessarily claim that they're better than the originals, though... Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner originated the roles and as they did they truly came to define a lot of what makes these characters who they are. As we see more of Chris and Zach as Kirk and Spock - mind you, these versions of Kirk and Spock are somewhat different from the originals b/c of the new timeline - I'm sure we can make more of a comparison, but as an old-time fan I wouldn't judge the originals so lightly.

Im pretty good at these things and can usually judge good chemistry. These two have a lot more to offer than the originals. I was never a fan because there was not much going on as chemistry goes, imo, with Shatner and Nimoy. Just they always seemed...stale or boring. Pine and Quinto bring much more to the characters. I believe these are the true Kirk and Spock and I dont care if Im the only one who thinks so..time will prove
