I can think of four reasons off the top of my head why your strings are buzzing. 1) As the guy said, you're not pressing hard enough. This comes with practice. 2) There is not enough space between the strings and the frets on your fretboard (you can adjust the height of the strings or get the frets filed down). 3) The neck of your guitar could be warped or simply not tight enough.
This dude needs to learn the parts of the guitar. He keeps saying you want your finger "close to the fret". He should be saying put your finger close to the "fret bar". DuhHuh!

dude if its just ONE fret then its not how hard your pressing on the frets, it might be the neck being warped, the bridge, or truss rod, mine i think is the truss rod im getting it repaired next time i go to GC

don't listen to this guy. anyone. fret buzz can be caused by a number of different things. usually guitar players remedy fret buzz due to finger pressure within the first few week of becoming introduced to the guitar. if you have buzz on multiple frets/strings and adjusting the action/relief hasn't helped. you need to have your frets leveled. you may also need to raise you nut. intonation has nothing to do with fret buzz. intonation is merely dialing in the exact string length to your scale

Hey I have this Yamaha DW-7 VRS, its a bitch to play. I think the neck is bowed and the truss rod is not tunable because the nut is messed up. I love playing guitar, but this one takes it from me. Any suggestions, probably get a new guitar, right.

It is true that fret buzz can be caused by not holding down the strings hard enough, but anyone that has experimented with the guitar for 5 minutes knows this. Likely, it's a hardware problem and another fret is interfering with the string.
what do you mean? it's a classical wooden acoustic 6-string right handed guitar with nylon strings.
or at least he's holding it and has the strings attached and tuned like most right handed players would do. while I think a left handed guitar IS in fact different from a right handed one, not just a right handed one turned around and restrung: the lowest (= lowest sounding, thickest, low E in standard tuning) string is given slightly more space on the fretboard than the highest one.
this is just one possible reason y u may get fret buzz. most of the time though is because the action(height of string to fret) is too low and when you strum a note the string catches the top of other frets causing a buzzing sound.

this is not my problem,my acoustic guitar makes the buzzing sound when i press down on a higher fret on the low E string.for example,if i press down on the 11th fret ,itl make a buzzing sound.please help.

i have this problem with my top E string (the skinniest string) when i play on the 19th fret it barely makes a sound its like tinnny and it only on that fret and that string

don't listen to this guy. anyone. fret buzz can be caused by a number of different things. usually guitar players remedy fret buzz due to finger pressure within the first few week of becoming introduced to the guitar. if you have buzz on multiple frets/strings and adjusting the action/relief hasn't helped. you need to have your frets leveled. you may also need to raise you nut. intonation has nothing to do with fret buzz. intonation is merely dialing in the exact string length to your scale

wow, im afraid to play guitar anymore because i may end up as retarded as this guy. fret buzz can be caused by alot of different things. such as intonation, bridge height, nut height, shitty strings, improper tuning... i also like how often his voice cracks.

the guitar`s neck could be over bowed causing a fret further down the neck to rub on the strig causing it to buzz

Hey I have this Yamaha DW-7 VRS, its a bitch to play. I think the neck is bowed and the truss rod is not tunable because the nut is messed up. I love playing guitar, but this one takes it from me. Any suggestions, probably get a new guitar, right.

It is true that fret buzz can be caused by not holding down the strings hard enough, but anyone that has experimented with the guitar for 5 minutes knows this. Likely, it's a hardware problem and another fret is interfering with the string.

what do you mean? it's a classical wooden acoustic 6-string right handed guitar with nylon strings.
or at least he's holding it and has the strings attached and tuned like most right handed players would do. while I think a left handed guitar IS in fact different from a right handed one, not just a right handed one turned around and restrung: the lowest (= lowest sounding, thickest, low E in standard tuning) string is given slightly more space on the fretboard than the highest one.

this is just one possible reason y u may get fret buzz. most of the time though is because the action(height of string to fret) is too low and when you strum a note the string catches the top of other frets causing a buzzing sound.

What happened to me was I played a string open then there was a buzzing sound. when that happens I usually press on the bridge on my locking system and the buzz goes away. But when I pressed it a peice on my locking system popped out of place. Wut do I do?

its called fret buzz, it has nothing to do with how hard you push the string, obviously you have to push down hard enough, but what the guy is talking about is fret buzz, you need to adjust the truss rod and maybe the nut and the bridge.
